My little boy is 8days old and up till now has fed very well on breast. He has had about 5 formula bottles for various reasons in that time but has fed very well from me - was back at his birth weight at 5 days old.
The last couple of nights he just won't go on- he plays with it, pushes away from me, takes it for five seconds and is off again. I said I wouldn't beat myself up about it and if breast feeding didn't work for me then so be it. However I am more upset than I thought! I don't feel rejected but it's just that feeling of being needed I suppose. We bought bottles and formula in case and up till now i was fine about moving off breast!
I don't think the fact I've been up since 3 and have one sore right boob is helping lol. Any advice on how to stop breast feeding gratefully received - I tried hand expressing earlier and found it very slow going! I just don't think he's interested in feeding from me but is using me as a comfort - which is fine but it doesn't help either of us get back to sleep!
