Hi ladies, thanks Indom for the suggestion of me starting a new thread. Seeing as Zach and myself have been knocking about on antenatal since November it will be lovely to have you all joining us shortly in the baby, rather than pregnancy conversations! Bring on the March babies!!!!

I've found you Missi, hoping my little boy won't hang around too long and can join Zach and Scared's little girl, but just been for my 28 week appointment and he's still not engaged so not holding my breath Sad

Hi all, just checking in although got nothing useful to add. DD finally crashed about 5.30 in our bed after a restless night so feel like the walking dead today, and am in the midst of desperately trying to wrap things up at work. Come 4pm I'll be off for mat leave and I can't wait!

Also checking in! 37+1, lost my plug, had a bowel clear out , lots of pressure low down, and getting BH's more and more often. Hoping we won't be far behind! DS1 was induced at 40+11 so REALLY hoping we don't go that far over again! This little man is currently estimated at 7lb 3oz (DS1 was 10lb 5oz) so also hoping that either that is really wrong, or that little man is early!

Can't wait to see more babies on here! Do we think Rosie will be next?

Checking in too! I'm 38 weeks today, just finishing work and happy for baby me to put in an appearance any time from about Wednesday (I want a few days to rest first!)

Lots of BH but no other obvious signs other than a tiny bit of cramping last night for about 30 minutes.

Hello again! I popped in on much earlier threads but haven't kept up at all. I'm due on 29 March, but having a c section a week before that. I've been on maternity leave for a few weeks but can't wait to get this baby out tbh, I feel so enormous and heavy and achy and slow. Hope you are all having as good a time as you can as your due dates approach Smile

Just bookmarking it! With the exception of those with real babies are we sure were not frauds being over here early? shall we discuss how much sleep we are getting and how not sore our nipples are for a few days to pee anyone else off thats glancing in?

Bookmarking! Ooh hayley sounds promising!!

I forgot to say there's been another birth on the Facebook group that originated from people on here - do you remember an early poster with twins? Well she's had a gorgeous boy and girl this week, lovely.

so indom back to previous discussion - we share a wedding anniversary? How cool! we have definitely jinxed our babies to be late now!

Marking my place! 35+5, still another week in work and my little guy seems truly comfortable, so could be a good while before I have any post-natal input!

Checking in at 37+6, sporadic but "real" feeling mild contractions for the last 24 hours, maybe it'll be this weekend! DH wouldn't mind, he's fed up at work atm. Unlikely though, I went to 40+2 before labour properly started last time.

Wow despite literally just sitting on the sofa with the latest 'scrap/stash' busting project on the hook I'm strugling to keep up! Not up for much after so little sleep last night. Although this boads well for company during many upcoming nightfeeds without working out interational time differences to see who it is a reasonable time to message.

Have been out to see my fantastic midwife this morning for 38 week appointment. She's working so hard atm, so many very heavily pregnant women in the area at the moment, she can't manage to use the electronic booking system any more and is just having to work to her own system. Her clinc normal finishes by 11.30 to realse her for home visits but is booking up until 2/3 everyday. One heck of a dedicated woman.

Lots of period type pains since the early hours and increased but irregular tightenings and on off lower back ache. Bump had started to engage 1/5 but midwife hopeful it's a sign that things might be on the move at some point soon. Had to promise not to cross anything as she could really do with some babies being born and not lots of the ladies due early march going over due.

Would love bump to arrive soon. My grandad's birthday would have been on sunday so would find that very special (and could hopefully convince dh to add an extra middle name)! At this stage I don't care about the date, I'm just very ready to meet him.

Actually might be ready for him too, dh built the cot yesterday, much more civiliced the second time around doing it the logical way and not following crappy instructions it came with. I'm picking up the new mattress tonight, a bargin in the argos baby event. And might even stock up the frezzer at iceland incase I don't get motivated to batch cook in time.

Another one booking in!!

Currently 37+5 and at my 36 week appointment he weighed in at 7lb4 Shock Hopefully it won't be too much longer as he is on track to weigh a hefty amount!

Place marking Smile don't think mine is going to make an appearance for at least a couple of weeks though... And I really need to pack my hospital bag! Got friends visiting this weekend so wouldn't be great timing if I went into labour haha. Also DPs mum is going on holiday for a week tomorrow and is our childcare for DD when I'm in labour! She told me today that I wasn't allowed to have the baby this week I was like hmm if you didn't want to miss her arrival you shouldn't have booked a last minute holiday when I'm 38 weeks (though obvs didn't say that out loud!)

Hayley definitely sounds promising!

Very exciting its getting to the point where babies are arriving! I also feel like a bit of a fraud on the postnatal board already but hopefully will only be an imposter for a week to so...

Congrats suz and me for reaching maternity leave Grin

marmite My DH's mum and dad were supposed to be our childcare for DS and are currently on holiday too! I was massively hacked off about it when they told us the dates (12 days up to 38+1), but of course have been nothing but polite to their faces. DH was really mad too, but has also stayed polite. We paid an agency to have a nanny on call 24 hours a day, and have actually had to use the service once already due to the unexpected extra growth scan on Wednesday. The GPs are back in town on Sunday, and I am desperate to have this baby before then and have them miss the birth because karma. Probably won't happen, but oh would I feel smug!

Ooh, hello, feel like a fraud over here on the postnatal board! Exciting though!

scared saw your update on the other thread, she is beautiful and you sound so besotted which is so lovely.

Congrats on those reaching mat leave and fingers crossed for those getting shows and contractions here and there!

I have just been discharged thankfully with presumed but still unconfirmed swine flu. I'm ok but bump only measuring 30cm at 34+4 so growth scan next week.

24 hour nanny service sounds gooood!!

Ooh hayley that sounds promising! I've never really lost a mucous plug... waters don't go until the head's about to emerge... I don't get many warning signs!!

magpie when's your growth scan? I've got my final one on Wednesday, when apparently I'll find out my induction date eek...

magpiedreams · 19/02/2016 18:04

Don't know yet beautiful as the dept is closed now so they're phoning me on Monday. Expecting if swine flu is confirmed it will prob be delayed as they wont want me there! Could be Wednesday with you though, we'll see. Exciting you get your induction date soon!!

Also place-marking.

I think this thread might have been started just in time because it sounds like there's going to be some more babies appearing soon! Still a good few weeks left to go for me but I love reading everyone else's signs of labour approaching Smile.

Report
ffauxlivia · 19/02/2016 18:17

beautiful I keep thinking how cool it is that you know your personal signs and how/when you normally labour - it's the not knowing right now that's driving me crazy!

Clueless FTM question - how many cot sheets do you need? I have co-sleeper (similar the Chicco Next to Me that they sell in the UK I think), and it came with one sheet and I bought a second. But then I read you should have 5 or 6? Do they really mess through their nappy and clothes onto the sheets that often? And for napping I have the pram from the buggy which again has a mattress and 1 sheet - do I need spares there too? Suddenly feeling like I know nothing despite all the classes and research!

And do I need a soft cover sheet for the changing pad? It's wipe clean so I figured why have something extra to wash??!

I only ever had two sheets ffaux and it was fine, even with my refluxy boy. The only thing that ever got on them was milk sick. When he was tiny and in the Moses basket I used a muslin over the sheet at the head end, as we had zillions of those and it could just be whipped off and replaced in the event of a boff.

Scared your daughter is beautiful. Lovely update!

Thanks for the new thread Missi. We want lots of babies on this one!

My hospital has just had to shut a ward due to a Norovirus outbreak. Great timing!

Bought some huge 'discreet fit pants' from Wilko's today. Was it Mship that suggested them? Actually look perfect although DP looked a bit scared. He's wondering if other partners get all the gory details explained to them too. Grin
