Anyone else out there? My dd2 was born 24th September. She's amazing and I love having two girls.

Me! I had our first lovely daughter on 16 sep. Congratulations!

DD is amazing but I am at my wits' end trying to get her to sleep in her crib or her carrycot (which is approved for overnight sleeping), hence the 4am post... Hope you are having better luck!

Hi! Yes my DD hates the Moses basket too.

How are you feeling?

Exhausted!!! We seem to be having a scream until you feed me period. How about you?? We just bought a sleepy head to deal with the crib issue; will let you know if it works!

Hi All!

Had our daughter on 25th September, finding motherhood quite a shock to the system! She is rather relaxed except when she wants feeding (every hour at the moment, and I am breastfeeding, ouch!!)

She was sleeping in the Moses no problem up until yesterday and now she seems to want to sleep on me or her dad constantly, uh oh!

Congratulations to everyone else on their arrivals! Grin

Scared lob- what's a sleepy head? Never heard of it.

I'm shattered. Dd2 has been feeding constantly through the night for the last three nights. DD1 is also waking regularly.

It's a little thing that makes them feel they are being cuddled - pic below! Trying it out tonight; will let you both know if it works..

Hi,

Nice to find a September thread. Congratulations to all of you on your daughters! My son was born on the 26th September, the day before his due date.

He is just the same about sleeping on his own. I had bought a Babybay cot that attaches to the side of the bed thinking that would make him feel he was in with us but even if I sleep with my head in there with him, he's not happy. He just wants to sleep by my chest or tummy.

I can still hardly believe he's real and that he's ours to keep!

DS3 was born on 30th Sept. He prefers to sleep on us too but is overall very settled.

Yay, 2 boys to join the club!

The sleeping thing is perfectly logical when you think that they need us and they just want a cuddle. It's gorgeous to have them snuggled up to you and they're only this small for such a short amount of time.

Unless that time is 11pm-4.30am as it was for me this morning, in which case it is not short at all, it lasts for centuries!!!

Congratulations, DrCoconut! You must be something of an expert with two older ones.

Sorry to hear you had a bad night, Scarednoob. Hope you manage a nap today.

Yes, the snuggles are lovely and we've largely been lucky at night in that he falls asleep quickly after he's been fed and changed. It's just getting him back in his cot that's a problem. He has a really windy bottom which doesn't trouble him when he's on us but if he's lying on his back in the cot the noise or sensation really upsets him.

I tried carrying him in a wrap this morning and he stayed asleep much longer than usual, so that may be a solution for daytime.

What is it with the windy babies? Nobody ever warned me that my beautiful dainty 7.5lb daughter would fart like a 17. 5 stone builder!!!

My DD is hilarious, she was rolling around in her Moses Basket grunting and farting simultaneously the other day and I was in hysterics listening to her, also realised what the going red in the face means, and it's not pretty!!! Grin

Hoping everyone isn't suffering too much, had a bad night in terms of sleeping last night so a bit of a zombie today :(

Hi all. I had a ds on 17th September, he's lovely but I just can't get him to sleep . He just screams and screams. I'm at my wits end. I just don't know what to do.

My dh is with him, trying to bottle feed him because I'm exhausted.

I just don't think I'm cut out for this.

ARV you are cut out for this and you will get through it. Im from the Sept 14 thread but saw a 15 one and thought Id have a read. Im sitting by DS (13months now) cot and reading your posts has made me all emotional! Its bloody hard work and I cried loads because I thought my life would never be the same etc. Its a huge adjustment and the sleep depravation is pure torture. You are not alone and it will get better. Sorry for butting in on your thread but when I saw your post but I just had too. Take it day by day.

Thank you polka dot.

I'm sitting up right now with ds sleeping on me. He had a good night, only woke a couple of times and was easier to settle. When it's like this, I think I can manage!

DS only slept on me for months, in the first week I watched Netflix all night one night because I was scared to sleep with him on me!

Cineraria · 28/10/2015 17:56

Hope things are still going well ARV, and you're getting more good nights than bad ones. It's so upsetting when they are screaming and nothing seems to help.

I was just looking through our photos and can't believe how much he's already changed in only a month. I feel like he'll be talking and walking before I know it.

Hope everyone is surviving! Considering how many September babies there are, it's surprising there are so few of us when the other months seem to have loads of posters.

My current 6 week panic is that my little lovely isn't smiling yet. Good eye contact and generally v alert, but no smiles for mummy, which is making me a bit worried. Is everyone else getting lovely grins or am I worrying over nothing??

Hello,

I had a little girl on the 1st September and I can't believe how fast time is going- 8 weeks already! I already have a 5 year old son so she just has to fit in with life which is not always easy....
Oh and scarednoob my little one only just started smiling recently ( before it was just wind)

Hello everyone! My daughter was born on 16th September. Can't believe she's 6 weeks old already.

Had lots of ups and downs over the last few weeks (I kept struggling with anxiety and panic) but gradually finding things easier to deal with.

Glad she is now sleeping more in the day (bouncy chair or pram usually work!)

Nights are still tough, especially as my 5 year old keeps waking too. Anyone else find their baby is awake and grunting/straining for half the night?

Hello there I had a little boy on 20th September.
KatyBeau he strains constantly. I think it's wind. It's heartbreaking as in the last 24 hours it's escalated to screeeeeaming in pain. He also has a helpless look on his face: help me mummy I don't know what this is :-(

Amazing, isn't it? They are turning into real little personalities now. I keep hearing that their painful tummy troubles end typically around 3 months. I really hope so.

The other day I told DS "I can't wait for you to do a poo in the potty instead of your nappy" and since then he has done a poo every time I put him in the bath and then looked delighted with himself while I try to clean everything up. I'm sure he thinks his tummy tub bath is a potty!

We have all had colds the last 2 weeks so any semblance of a routine or improvement in sleep had gone out of the window! I suppose that's the downside of having a young baby in the winter during cold season.
