New thread for those of us left here Grin

Thanks for the new thread!

We've got a small car and it is jam packed just going out for the day. Will need to get a roof box for when we plan to go on holiday in August.

Think we are out of leap 2 now. She's back to her usual 6 hour stretch of sleep.

Been looking into baby sensory classes. There's one's near me called Harp Beeps that Im thinking of joining as getting bit nervous that Im not doing enough with her. We chat all day and she started to show more interest in her play mat but I want to learn how to play with her. I know that sounds daft.

We've got her first set of jags on Tuesday which Im not looking forward to. My mum has offered to come with us. I bet she cries. Ha ha.

LittleGreyCatwithapinkcollar · 02/07/2015 05:24

Yay for new thread!! Grin Thanks!

TinyTear · 02/07/2015 05:39

Marking place...
I did baby sensory with my oldest. It was good
Might do mini Mozart with this one instead. Class location is handier

TinyTear · 02/07/2015 05:41

BTW baby sensory was better from 6 months on or maybe 5. We went at 4 and she was too young

FiRaffe · 02/07/2015 06:44

Don't worry Kismac I know exactly what you mean about learning to play with them. I don't think i'm doing enough some days but DS seems to still be learning.

Hope you have lovely trips those of you going away. I'm dreading packing the car for our trip - the pram basically fills the boot so that should be fun!

Managed to get heat stroke I think yesterday. Was barely in the sun so not sure how but it was so hot in the afternoon and I don't cope well with heat.

Hope you have a lovely day today

PenguinPoser · 02/07/2015 07:04

Kismac I'm looking at baby sensory too but might take minipies advice and wait another couple of months. I know exactly what you mean I chat to dd and she goes on mat etc but I don't feel I'm doing enough with her! We do swimming and baby massage but it's mainly the days when we are in the house I feel like I'm boring her Confused she smiles more for dh than for me! Maybe she gets bored of my face!

Don't have any plans for this morning but going to my dads this afternoon. Hope everyone has a good day.

Sensory things are awesome kismac but don't worry about not doing enough, just day to day things will extend their brains and be stimulating. We went to the river last night, there were lots of dogs, people, new sounds and sights and feelings and Sam was fast asleep afterwards.

Look after yourself FiRaffe! Heat stroke isn't fun Sad I burnt yesterday and only did the school runs at 8.30-9 and 3-3.45 and a quick one in the car at 11.30.

kismac · 02/07/2015 09:52

Oh Fi, hope you're ok. I get sun stroke really easily so tend to hide indoors during this weather. It's horrible. Hope it passes quickly.

Yeah, Penguin. I feel like I've got to work for smiles but DH can instantly get a smile. Think it's just cause she doesn't see him all time so he is more exciting.

Thanks everyone. There's a class on next Wednesday that's for babies under 3 months and its has a pay as you go option so if we don't like it then we're not tied in.

Hidingthefear · 02/07/2015 10:28

Place marking.
I did baby sensations with max yesterday but I ended up feeding him all the way through coz he was so whiney. It was really hot though but ive booked on to go next week and see how he goes. There was an 11 week there too who seems to enjoy it.

FiRaffe · 03/07/2015 07:18

So having a bad week it seems, for those not on fb, had a big fall with DS in the sling on my front so spent the night in a & e. Woken up to a bump on his head and now I can't sleep or stop crying. Can this week end now please!!!

Hope you all have a good day!

cinnamongreyhound · 03/07/2015 08:15

It's a shock falling and shock makes you emotional! It will get better! Every time I have bad news with Sam I cry and soon settle to realising it will be ok how ever it turns out we'll deal with it. Flowers and lots of Cake for you x

PenguinPoser · 03/07/2015 10:02

Hugs FiRaffe... What a horrible night for you. Hope you are both ok. I think it's normal to cry at such a shock FlowersCake and Brew for you today.

It's another sunny day here but nowhere near as hot. I might go up to the retail park later as I have a bit on a gift card to spend on something for dd. if it's still nice later on when dh gets in from work we might go for a walk on the seafront Smile not that dh is aware of this yet!

OP posts:
Wineandchoccy · 03/07/2015 21:54

Thanks for the new thread penguin I hope you managed your walk on the seafront.

I hope you and Ds are ok firaffe how scary Flowers

We have been away for a couple of days I'm not sure I would call it a holiday with dd as it was hard work with the weather being so hot she didn't want to nap in the daytime which meant she was hard to settle at night.

We have all been invited to a party tomorrow so we are going to go for an hour or 2 I'm looking forward to seeing everybody and having adult conversation.

FiRaffe · 04/07/2015 06:07

The party sounds fun Wine. We're off to a wedding reception tonight so it'll be fun to dress up. I think it'll look like we're going for a week though - change of clothes for us incase of incidents, various layers for DS a travel grobag (one that straps in to the car seat), toys, changing stuff!

We're both better after the fall - thanks for the kind words. I ache a lot now but he seems his usual self which is what is important

PenguinPoser · 04/07/2015 18:30

Enjoy the wedding do Fi - might be nice to get out and party a bit. Much as I love being a mummy I'd enjoy a bit of a drink and dance again at some point! Same for you wineandchoccy enjoy the party!

We have been to town today, was ok until dh went to upgrade his phone which took ages and dd started screaming and screaming Sad so afterwards we quickly legged it to a nice little cafe where I could feed and order some lunch!

Since we got home I've made a carrot cake and watching Wimbledon, I think Murray is on next! I could really use a nap but don't think it's forthcoming unfortunately.

OP posts:
FiRaffe · 05/07/2015 05:54

It was lovely to be out and everyone loved DS. He had lots of cuddles and was really good!

Good work on making the cake! I really hope I can start doing more now DS is a bit bigger and more settled but he does need to have proper naps during the day now!

I hope everyone can have a lovely relaxing Sunday with their families. I think that is our plan today and watch up some stuff on the sky plus box now we have a working TV!

cinnamongreyhound · 05/07/2015 08:35

Glad you had a nice time FiRaffe! What happened to your TV?

Hope you had a lovely time too wineandchoccy!

Mmmm carrot cake, my favourite PenguinPoser Grin. Not a tennis fan at all and less of a Murray fan but hope it was a good watch. Went out yesterday and I knew Sam would be due a feed so was try to hurry everyone up, he had a little cry but was only a couple of mins before I could feed him, no one else thinks about it at all!

We had a mad busy day yesterday! I met a friend at the parkrun at wimpole hall, so the boy hung around while we ran then we all got cake/bacon rolls/tea/juice. I got changed and we went to the farm, had a picnic, round the gardens and the house then popped into my mums and then off to a bbq. We were meant to go and see Paloma faith as were given tickets in return for looking after my friends girls tomorrow and Tuesday and overnight but dh didn't really want to go so we made a last minute change of plans, didn't leave the boys at my mums and went to my friends bbq instead which was lovely. Sam got so much attention all day but I was able to put him down on a bed around 9 and he didn't wake when we bought him home so it's all been a normal night for him! Lazy day at home today I think!

Wineandchoccy · 05/07/2015 10:21

I love carrot cake penguin in fact I love any cake at the moment I have developed a sweet tooth since being pregnant.

Glad you had a good night firaffe

I need a rest after reading about your day cinnamon Grin

We had a lovely night at a party yesterday it was a friends parents 40th wedding anniversary, dd was a little star and lapped up all the attention from everyone. When we got home she had a feed then slept for 10 hours.

We are having a quiet day today just going for a walk stopping off to get brunch at a local cafe then need to get some things for dinner.

Ime as you get further down the line the milk is made on demand and doesn't build up in the breast so much so it can become more difficult to express. There are things you can try such as massaging the breast before you express. I have a recording of Jason crying that helps me to express. Even just imagining your baby feeding can help letdown.

Good idea from stuntnun, babiecakes. 40oz a day is still a lot. How much is she taking in a day?

Cinnamon your day sounds lovely but very busy!

Glad you had good evenings Fi and wine Smile

I like carrot cake too Grin unfortunately also have developed a sweet tooth that I never seemed to have before.

We have finally booked the reception for dds christening so have an event to invite people to now! Must get some invitations sent...

Perhaps because the milk changes overtime it's got higher calorie content so there is actually less? I do all I can to avoid expressing so not the best person to advise! I echo penguinPosers question, how much is she taking and has that changed? Is she still having some feeds from the breast? If so that could be affecting it.

I think yesterday wore Sam out, he slept 9pm-8am Shock awake until 10 then back to sleep until 1 and then he fell asleep again at 2!!!! He's had 3 feeds in his awake time but worn out very quickly it seems!

Exciting about the christening PenguinPoser Smile

It was a really old crt style TV that just went mad turning off without us hitting the remote.

Hope you get some answers babiecakes. Could you ask on the infant feeding board?

We've had a sleepy day today too. He's pushed himself forward on his tummy a lot and managed to roll from front to back for the first time. So glad that DH was here to see it.
