Our babies are nearly half a year! Where on earth has the time gone?

Half a year! Time is flying.
Dd is still battling a temp. She's fine until the calpol was off then she's straight back downhill again. Hopefully she's thru the worst of it now.

Ds is lovely at the moment. We survived ww 19, just about! And with it came rolling both ways and pulling up holding my two fingers from lying to sitting to standing. He's got very strong stomach muscles!
We're planning our summer holiday at the moment. My mum asked if she could come with us. Ds says he won't be able to relax properly and told me he will need some man time so me and mum can go out most nights while he stays in and babysits. That's not how I wanted our family holiday to be! I want to spend time with him, I hardly see him as it is!

That's really impressive, Little! DD isn't rolling at all, yet, but she can now sit (mostly) independently.
I totally know what you mean about not spending time with your DH. I feel like I hardly see DH, too, as he works so much. His bonding with DD is really suffering, too, as he struggles to settle her or get her off to sleep. We're also having our first 'family holiday' and bringing along DM, but she's promised to babysit and let DH and I spend some quality time alone. Maybe you could do the same?

We had our first successful roll yesterday too, it was a bit awkward though as she got her arm stuck underneath her tummy so had to help her Grin
last set of jabs on the 10th along with a cervical screening for me.

I can't believe how quickly the time's going and how big this gorgeous chunk is! Hope everyone had a good night

Oh Dh never settles Ds. I do it all. He has a very close bond with dd though as when she was a baby from 9 months she favoured him. She's only just started to come round to me in the last few months. I think I've been more possessive over Ds as a result of how hard the rejection was. Parent preference and separation anxiety was pretty brutal.

My sister took dm away last year and said it was intense. Dm didn't offer them a night out once in 10 days. We lost my dad last year so she was very clingy and lost the plot on my sister when she found herself alone for half an hour while the boys went to the shop with their dad and my sister had a shower so we know to expect her to want company 24/7. A lot of her neediness was grief though so no one minded.

How hard for you little, I hope you manage to have a nice time regardless and are able to have a bit of a break, it's quite hard when your baby is clingy and has separation anxiety.
I have to admit though sometimes I love it, like when mil tries to take the baby, but she won't have it and I can rub it in her face. Grin

She's rolling a lot now, but still gets her arm stuck underneath and doesn't seem too impressed once she's achieved it. She's such a grumpy baby sometimes

Dd was rolling more 4 weeks ago than she is now! She hasn't tried To in a while. She's discovering her voice at the moment and making strange noises as she chats to the furniture!
I'm giving myself a headache deciding whether or not to go back to work. Keep going around in circles!

bigfam · 31/05/2015 02:38

Pesto I think you should take a little longer to decide, go back when you feel 100% ready to and not a day before.
I've somehow managed to add a week onto the babies age, so atm she's only 17 weeks not 18, I know it's not a huge difference but it feels like it to me for some weird reason Hmm

So hard to decide how I'm gna feel in December. Have to admit I get sooo bored these days and miss adult company.
But dd will so different in December and She will keep me busy in a different way ... Aagghh

Come December I think we'll all take a work day over being at home Wink
Baby is completely wired today, she's hardly slept but she did go down last night at just before 7pm, had a super quick feed at 2.30am then back to sleep again til 7.30am so that's pretty good going. Plus she's happily sat in the pram propping her feet up on the bar, trying with all her might to pull at her frilly socks. Someone today exclaimed how chunky she is for a 17 week old (not 18, silly me) but I love it

We've had Quade's Christening today. It's been absolutely lovely but I'm worn out now! Q was an angel, he slept through the whole thing and enjoyed being passed round. He looked scrummy in his gown and then his romper if I say so myself lol.

Ohhh alyx u can definitely say he's scrummy cause he's absolutely gorgeous, what a beautiful little boy, bet it was a lovely day.
The baby's passed out after a full on laughing fit, maybe for the night?!

He looks lovely Alyx, glad the day went well!

Dd has worked out how to put her foot in her mouth now which she's really pleased about, however she can't manage it every time and gets really frustrated when she can't!

She's taken to only napping on me during the day now which is lovely, but her sleep is so rubbish during the night that I find myself nodding off when I'm holding her now. (Very jealous of all these babies that are sleeping through!) It's like having a newborn all over again! We're putting her cot up this week in our bedroom to start with. I figured that her sleep is so crap now anyway that we may as well transfer her to her cot. I'm not brave enough to put her in her own room yet!

Well done to all the good sleepers! Ds2 has taken to sleeping on his stomach now which scares me a bit but if I move him back he wakes up!
He's not a happy boy today, bit off colour, slight temp and not enjoying his pear purée as much! Think it's teeth so dosed up on calpol and anbesol tonight.

Did anyone get anything in the aldi baby event this week? Got a few bits and hardly spent anything for once!

Worriedaboutwee · 31/05/2015 19:47

Agh he's currently trying to smother himself by trying to sleep face down in his cot!!

He's looks so handsome alyx. Love the outfit. We have Ds christening in July which I'm looking forwards to.

11.5 hours is amazing. The longest Ds has done is 10 hrs but that was only once in 5 mths. The longest he's averaging is 5 hrs at the moment. Having said that last night he went 7-3 which was good and I was back to bed at 3.30 but then he woke up 1 hr 20 mins later and wouldn't go back to sleep. I've been destroyed today.

He's teething badly at the moment. His clothes are permanently wet with dribble. I forgot about anbesol. I've got some somewhere. It's one of the better ones as far as I can remember from dd. I'm using Ashton and parsons on him which is also one of the better ones I think.

I think dd is teething quite badly at the moment too so I think it's one of the main causes of the crap sleep bless her.

I totally forgot about the Aldi baby event - gutted! I wanted to get some of those bibs with the arms ready for when we start weaning.

Evening all. What gorgeous pictures! Glad to know you had a fantastic day alyx
Well it's been an eventful day today. Dd is bot taking milk, she's having as little as 6 oz in 24 hrs. Normally about 15 oz. it's really starting to worry me as it's been 10 days now. We have been to the docs once but will have to go again. She's been sick a few times and has now got bright yellow poo. Really starting to get concerned. She has lip tie that's still not sorted and I'm so fed up that I'm having to fight for my babies.
Ds has been really needy this week. He was a sick last night but thought it may be a one off, then he wouldn't sleep tonight an hour later he projectile vomited the most that I have ever seen from him and considering that he was sick at least once a week for 14 months, it was a lot. Feel like I'm constantly worrying!

Really sorry to hear the feeding hasn't improved Dec, did they weigh her at all? And your poor little boy too, by the way your post isn't a 'me me me' post, it shows your worrying about your little ones and looking after them brilliantly and that your a lovely mummy! Flowers

Oh Dear, I didn't get off to sleep around midnight and the babies up, but so is dd1 who is literally squirming and thinks things are crawling over her!! It's really annoying she's at the bottom of the bed fidgeting and jumping and now the fire alarm is out of batteries and keeps making a high pitched beep every 30 seconds and it can't be taken down arrrgghhh
