How couldn't you guess earlier? They have the most illogical reactions.

All I'll say is that when DD was this age, I remember thinking we'd hit the terrible twos early.

Then she hit 2........

I've found you all woohoo.

Hope your back is ok soon Spotty.

Thanks for the thread Spotty and thanks for the link Hales.

Now who was the naughty who filled up the last thread? Grin

Ha DS is a fricking nightmare ATM (as I said on fb yesterday), but he's so bloody funny! until he kicked me in the eye at 2am

Done it. H is having cracking temper tantrums at the moment which usually involve an outburst of violence.

I agree with Willyou, though sometimes it can be very funny.

In answer to your question ddas (I think) I am enjoying my job but there's 18(!) receptionists so I've no chance of getting anywhere, the pay is rubbish and for not much more than nmw we get messages from the gp saying 'tell pt his XR showed OA of the hips and OA of lumbar spine' no follow up action etc what patient wants to hear that from a receptionist?! Also the hours are going to be difficult with school so whilst I enjoy it I'm going to keep an eye out for something else.

Beasty dd didn't have terrible twos but had horrible threes and now fours Grin

Ds never feeds himself really mainly because I'm lazy. He does with stuff he can eat with his hands. Tonight he are his whole bowl of pasta with his fork and only spilt a few bits, which he picked up. Grin

Thanks for the link hales. DS is still up, so I'm stealth mn-ing while DH is trying to get him to eat more. He's not had much today, but has refused dinner. He's hungry, just for what he wants. In this case, banana instead of quiche or curry.

Ddas I stuck tinfoil up just with water. Wet the window down with a cloth or plant spray bottle and the tinfoil sticks perfectly. Also stays up for ages, weeks at a time without needing re-sticking. We've had it up on T's windows for ages. It does come off if you open the windows though, which isn't ideal.

halestone · 01/07/2014 18:47

Utopian did you get much work done. I hope so and i agree with WL its definitely worth getting them in if your stressing out about work.

Ddas i hope the tinfoil ideas help. Lack of sleep is a nightmare.

spotty sounds like your DS was behaving like my DS today. He wanted to be held and was very whiney.

hales thank you for the link! that was very kind of you!

stacks cool tip with the tin foil and water!

DS has been a total pain today. He had paracetamol at lunch time, slept reasonably and was ok for a bit when he woke up. I was so glad when DH got home so he could take over carrying and cuddling DS. I'm hoping it's just his teeth.
He fell over yesterday and I think he must have poked himself in the he nose as he fell because he had a little nose bleed. But he put his hands to his face so I thought he had hit his mouth. Looked, didn't see anything and then I saw the blood coming from his nose. Poor little man. He has had a rough couple of days!

I also think we are firmly in developmental leap territory. He is trying to repeat lots of new words and sounds that he hears. It is very cute Grin

If it wasn't bad enough having DD singing Let It Go (sung as lego) from Frozen at full volume all the time, A was just "singing" along too, at even fuller volume.

For DC going to sleep there's an awful lot of noise!!

Hopefully tomorrow I'll get a pass card for my new office, then I won't have to hang around by the lifts waiting for someone to come through the door and let me back in every time I go to the loo!

Beasty should hear dd and ds sing I bet they're the same as your two! I will try find a video...

Looking forward to seeing videos of dc duets. Grin

Today went well - the agency girl was lovely so lovely I have added her to my secret mental shortlist to girlfriends for my dbro and O took to her immediately. They had a very jolly time together (could hear them downstairs from my office) from 9.30-3.30 when he woke from a nap and was promptly inconsolable partly I suspect because I wasn't there when he woke up, but that's a good 5 hours work and she's going to do the same tomorrow. I can just feel.a.massive improvement to my mental state already.

Dh just very gently and carefully asked if I may have forgotten it's our wedding anniversary on Thursday what with all this going on. He was doing it to make sure that if he then did something for me I wouldn't feel awful for forgetting, which is sweet as I had utterly forgotten but of course I now feel a bit awful anyway! I have been a dreadful excuse for a wife and parent recently, so hopefully can get it all back on track now.

The nice upshot is that now he has reminded me we can plan something jolly though!

Thank you Spotty and Hales Wine

R has a lovely egg on his noggin from crashing into a table in Waterstones earlier Blush

He eats a few mouthfulls with a fork or spoon - particularly a fork - but gets bored after a few goes so I end up doing it. He likes it shovelled in fast and doesn't have the patience for DIY yet I think, must tackle that at some point Hmm

Hello all, and thanks for a new thread.

We're having some minor tantrums here but not too many. She is very chatty though and loves to sing. And we had our first sentence yesterday! 'Bye car' as we left the garage to go upstairs. Clever moppet!

No chance of us feeding her though - that leads to meltdown. She either uses a fork or spoon, but often her hands. She's not a wonderful eater so would prefer to spend time doing it herself (and wasting time before the fruit course).

Feeling like a bit of bad parent today - it's my day at home with her and we had plans made, until I got up to have a shower and nearly fell into the wall. Followed up with nausea and headaches and so I wonder if I have a bit of vertigo. I phoned C's nursery who said they could take her today, which is lucky as I couldn't pick her up at all, let alone entertain her or drive her anywhere! I'm in bed and debating whether I need to see a doctor. Lying down I feel fine, though, and a bit of a fraud!

Vertigo is awful mama I've only had a couple of short and minor incidents with it, but my dad gets it badly at times. I have quite strong memories of his crawling up and down the stairs, and holding on to the walls while sitting down. I think all the drs give you is motion sickness tablets for it though? Hope you feel better soon.

DS feeds himself really well with fork or spoon. He dan even manage a spoon of milk from bowl to mouth without spilling. He's regressed back to hands a lot though, and squashing his food for fun. Occasionally, and for no apparent reason, he'll also just rub food all over his face and hair. Seems quite deliberate. Maybe trying out face masks?

We've had a couple of sentences, most used is "one more" said while wagging his finger at you. It looks like you're being told off, and is very cute. :) He's also parroting sounds and words a lot, sometimes startling clear. Mostly we just have the first sound repeated though, so motorbike is "mo mo" and nectarine is "nya nya", my favourite is crisps which is "cripu" (he gets them as snack from playgroup lots).

Hope the vertigo passes soon mama. I had it horribly for a week during pregnancy and it really freaked me out.

J's fantastic at feeding himself with a fork or spoon especially ice cream, it's one of the things he's really mastered. But for the last 2 weeks he's decided to be lazy and just wait until you give in and feed him. I blame MiL as she spoon feeds him everything Hmm At least he has nursery for balance as they have to feed themselves there.

XP has him this morning and it's my day off so I'm having my hair cut and maybe my brows threaded.

I was too thick to realise the thread was full and just thought everyone was busy!!! Duh! Thanks for the link hales - where would I be without you guys?
stacks good tip - too late for me but will be sure to pass it on.
willyou hope you're having a lovely relaxing day.
beasty how are you finding working full time?
mama vertigo sounds awful. Fx it passes quickly.
T is quite good at feeding herself but is not that into food so wanders off after a short time so I end up posting bits of food in while she plays.
We had a lovely time at the gruffalo yesterday - T thoroughly enjoyed the whole thing. I had a meeting at dd1s school at 7 so DH did his first solo triple bedtime! Pleased to report that all went well - the only minor issue was that when T got up this morning I noticed her pjs were back to front!

I had to put A's nappy on back to front last night, after he managed to take it off. Must remember to do that again tonight.

He's perfectly capable of feeding himself, but mostly either uses hands (he was picking shreddies out of the milk this morning) or hands the cutlery over to be fed. Even if it's preloaded he'll pass it all over!

WL it's ok so far. The later start is good- a smalI lie in, no rushing, and time to do a few jobs. Tonight is the first nursery collection though, so we'll see how that goes. And ask me again on Friday when I've done my first 5 day week in 2.5 years!!

This morning DH said he's glad I'm enjoying the new job- apparently I'm noticeably happier. So can't be bad.

Hope you feel better soon MaMa.

MaMa are you feeling any better?

Stacks that is cute! R still mostly points or drags you to what he wants - at playgroup today he took another mum over to her dd then her nappy bag to ask for one of her rice cakes (we often share snacks as we take different things, it wasn't just some random person!) We were very impressed with his manners!

WillYou hope you enjoyed your morning off? :)

Well done MrWL :o

Beasty I'm glad your happier and hope the new job continues to suit Thanks

Spotty wow they really said that?! Hope she wasn't in earshot Sad

R's in a sposie tonight, my mum bought him some cute shorts that are actually swimming trunks and the netting inside rubbed his thighs. I'm hoping a night in a smooth disposable with cotton trousers will sort it out, and am going to tumble all my nappies to soften them up. I feel mega guilty Sad We also noticed a couple of raised red spots (one on his torso and one on his bum cheek) come up this afternoon while he was playing in the paddling pool so I'm keeping a very close eye on that although there are no other symptoms and he's been a happy chappy all day. The bum one had gone by bath time Hmm
