Grin In this house its "breadstick? Dont you fob me off with a breadstick! Wheres my dinner?!" Breadstick crushed in rage followed by histrionic tears and lying flat out face down on the floor! Oh the melodrama is ridiculously high in this houee and he's only just 17 months old...

Report
glorious · 05/06/2014 08:04

Haha juniper we get breadstick-crushing rage too! She generally eats it in the end though.

salt are you pleased about the feeding? Must feel quite liberating!

Don't think we've heard from fourlegs for a while, hope she's ok.

Helloooooo!
Love the thread title, Darcie practically runs for the hills at the mere sight of a nappy, then follows a pursuit to pin her down and wrestling match to get said nappy on her little peachy bum!
I wish they would figure out that it gets done so much quicker if they just co-operate Grin

Nappy changing is a 2 person job in this house! No breadstick related dramas though. Yet.

Report
mrsbug · 05/06/2014 19:27

Oh yes, nappy changes are a wrestling match too.

salt how are you doing? DD stopped breastfeeding about a month ago, at the time i was quite sad about it but now it's good to have my freedom to get drunk back.

dd just pooed in the bath! Yuk

generally I am a bit shit, knackered and bad tempered, fortunately I have lovely people around me who forgive me.
sooooooo glad to have given up breast feeding. I was waiting for floss to do it herself, but I have only been able to feed from one nipple for the last 9 months and the only working one had a massive cut on it, so I have been pretty much over it for a while.
meringue hope you have a wonderful wedding.
I have missed you all. will try to post more often xxxx

Title and breadstick comment, made me me chuckle. I just get led to snack cupboard and have to offer everything until madam decides what she would like!

Good luck for wedding Meringue

Tried Lo at crèche twice this week, only for 25/30 mins, first time she was ok until last few mins, today was a nightmare, wailed/shouted the whole time and took a good ten minutes to calm her after. Now dreading nursery in Sept...

DD1 was such an easy child, this one is a completely different kettle of fish... she destroyed my ironing yesterday because she wasn't getting any attention! Hits DD1 if I'm doing something with her. Also started wailing as soon as I get out the car etc and same with DH.

Dan has taken me to the picture of us with Iggle piggle at the weekend several times today. He points at us all, one by one, and I say our names and he says Bo! And then he points to Iggle Piggle and I say Iggle Piggle and he says GahGah and looks immensely pleased with himself Grin.

Ive worked out he says about 8 or 9 words, although they all sound pretty similar. Its always the same sound for the same thing though. Ds1 had only 1 word at this age so im pleased.

Glad you have lots of people for support salt and well done on stopping the bf, it is quite liberating I think!

Hope your wedding goes well meringue.

On the nappy changing front I used to have a massive battle with her but in the last month or so it's got really easy and she actually listens to me saying no!

That is cute juniper.

I had a little chuckle about the ironing lost! X likes to be 'helpful' by taking all the wet washing off the drying racks that has taken me ages to hang up and handing it to me. Then she takes a pair of her trousers and walks around with them on her head!

Report
AppleCrumples · 06/06/2014 09:45

birdies Ivy does that too, although its usually a pair of ds1 pants on her head!

salt good to hear from you. Stopping bf is wierd on one hand its freedom and you get your body back but on the other its good bye to a lovely stage in their lives.

meringue exciting times.

Ivy seems to be growing up really fast recently. She is chatterinh away with more recognisable words and wants tp do everything for herself. She also needs another haircut as she looks like dougal from the magic roundabout at the moment!

Salt, one day at a time Thanks

We went to view a childminders yesterday for DD, it's lovely and she has a huge purpose built cabin in her garden, Darcie really made herself at home there, she is going to do a couple of hours next week

New pair of shoes purchased this morning, £34 out of pocket now, that's more than I spend on shoes Shock

Salt it is lovely to hear from you.

Mega excited about tomorrow now. Though cannot believe how lovely the weather is today and how bad the forecast is for tomorrow!

glorious · 06/06/2014 18:15

ooh meringue I'm really excited for you too. I hope you sleep better than I did the night before my wedding! Shame if the weather is bad but on the other hand at least you and soon to be DH won't be so hot in your outfits!

salt sounds like the end of bf is a very good thing then. Well done you. I'm glad you've got good support around you.

Salt you are allowed to be knackered and bad tempered, I am glad you have good friends around you Flowers Wine

Dd is a whirlwind of energy and more trouble than a bag of monkeys, but is sweet natured with it and only has tantrums if she is tired or hungry.

Have a wonderful day tomorrow meringue!

Things still a bit strained with DH, its all had more of an impact than expected. Must remember to keep talking to each other... Its easy to forget isnt it when youve had a bad day/ long night etc... ;-)

Meringue I hope you've had a wonderful day.

Today dd fell over and hit her face on the coffee table and has a big bruise on her face. I'm a bit worried anyone who sees it will report us to social services...

Report
lollipoppi · 08/06/2014 10:47

Mrsbug, honestly If somebody reported me every time my kids had a bruise i would have been reported 100 times by now Grin ds1 is always covered in them
An when they're still unsteady on their feet bumps are going to happen

Bunny hope things are ok with you and DH
Things are pretty much the same here too, massive row the other night, I slept inter sofa which I've never done before but he really upset me Hmm

On a brighter note DD is just being a total cutie at the moment, I could just eat her up Smile

well we had a lovely day today at a festival at a local park. There were some owls from a rescue centre which dd loved.

My friend was there with her dd, who is the same age as my dd. I noticed that when her DD was out of the buggy she generally followed her mum around, whereas DD spent the whole time she was out of the buggy running at full speed away from me. I think I may need to invest in some reins.

meringue hope you had a lovely day yesterday.

Mrsbug DS is always covered in bumps and bruises. We are now at the point where nursery now ring and say "Mrs Cupcakes, just to let you know DS has fallen off the slide again....". Blush

DH and I are finally coming out of a rough patch. Although I did start looking at houses last night because he didn't answer me when I asked if I could borrow his phone. Hmm. It's possible I need to get a little perspective.

Our friend has recently started a relationship with an acquaintance of ours, but it all seems to be going wrong as she's (the acquaintance) suffering with depression at the moment and I don't think he (our friend) can hack it. I feel really bad for her as it sounds as if all of her friends have left her in the lurch, but I don't know her that well. Would it be too intrusive for me to send her a little message on FB or something?

mrsbug all mine are/were runners! My friends dd stays nice and close all the time whilst i am chasing Ivy out of places she shouldn't be!

Been a mixxed day here. Took dc out to a park where they all seemed yo have fun but when we had to leave dd1 wemt into melt down despite being warned we would be leaving. She kept hitting me on the way back to the car which i mostly ignored, just kept going. In the car she said sorry and that she loved me all sweetness and light.

We had to stop to pick up some lunch, had already told dd she had lost her sweets but when she didn't get any the tantrum was ogf again and went on and on.

To cap it off dd1 has kept Ivy awake since she wemt to bed at 7.30! All 4 currently awake whilst i wonder where tge hell i went wrong!! Hoping today just a blip. This too shall pass...this too shall pass... :(

Oh good I found you all! :) Lost the last thread...

how is everyone? Hope all's well. meringue belated best wishes for your wedding! I hope you had a wonderful day Flowers

salt lovely to hear from you and glad you have some good RL support. Well done on giving up bfeeding, sounds like it'd been tough going if you could only feed from one side.

cupcakes I don't think that would be too intrusive at all. If I were having a rough time I would really appreciate all words of support :)

apples hope your 4 all went off to sleep eventually...

DD has a monster virus/cold/cough/gammy eye thing going on. V grumpy, not sleeping and clinging to me like a limpet. Poor lamb. She is cruising a lot now and has stood up on her own for a few seconds a few times so walking shouldn't be too far off now... She's a little chatterbox though.

We've found another house to buy after the last one went tits up but it's a race against time as mortgage company are being awkward and making us complete by 26th June, i.e. 2 weeks away! Feasible but bloody stressful.

Anyhoo, enough of my ramblings. HOpe everyone's ok, I've missed you!
