As we have all our gorgeous babies now, welcome aboad the 5th Gemini bus.

Drinks and previously banned foods supplied in bulk, Car seats installed, slings and prams at the ready, as we head into parenthood, and all the excitement, and sleepless nights our little ones will bring along the way.

Normal. Frus Jr has had 2 feeds since he had them and slept. I have just leaked through my breastpads, bra and double layer top in 45minutes.
Can probably say that either the coconut or oak milk substitute works on supply.

Lorelei353 Thu 08-Aug-13 14:43:35

Thanks. He just woke again crying, fed, cried another bit and then went back to sleep when I cuddled him. Poor little mite.

I think I should NC to Houdini today.

FrussoHathor Thu 08-Aug-13 16:45:05

Agnu why Houdini?

AGnu Thu 08-Aug-13 17:24:10

I locked myself in the lounge by closing the door with the stairgate on the other side a centimeter or so below the door handle so that I couldn't open the door. I did this completely accidentally & nearly panicked totally on purpose, purely to practise my latest escapology trick using nothing but a coat hanger... Neary had to get DH to ring the gardener to come open the side access gate so I could climb out of the window, all the way around the terrace, through the garden & back into the house all in my socks to remove the gate from the other side! blush

FrussoHathor Thu 08-Aug-13 18:45:39

Will presume you had other clothes on too agnu that's the type of thing I'd do, but chances would be that I'd only have socks an pants on.

AGnu Thu 08-Aug-13 18:58:00

Rofl! Yes, I was fully dressed, albeit a bit disheveled because I'd been expressing & hadn't entirely sorted myself out!

I'm broken! You can litterally accomplish nothing with 2 little ones when they won't sleep, almost killed dd1 at the park wild exaggeration obviously feel like a shit mum to dd2 who largely ignored all day or force fed water, a whistle god knows what else
Can't wait to try and get them both in bed now!
well rather asleep, dd1 new peppa pig jarmies was the only thing that enticed her to be good and get changed quick while I have to leave dd2 on the floor changing mat, I hate dh's nights hmm
Bring and frus you must have the patience of saints in the school holl's!

Agnu I'm intregued how did you use the handle and hanger? Has your door got holes in it??
I'd never dare express with a gardener present , I'd totally flash!

FrussoHathor Thu 08-Aug-13 19:30:04

kitty coat hanger i presume to get at the latch (the bit in the middle of the door that goes in and out when you use the handle) never locked myself in a room, oh no, not me

AGnu Thu 08-Aug-13 20:30:04

Yes, the coat hanger was hooked around the rounded side of the latch to pull it back. You can also use a credit card but I didn't have one on me! It's lucky that I put DS2 in new clothes this morning & happened to dress him in the lounge for some odd reason! The magic coat hanger is now behind the living room door for future rescue missions. The only reason I shut the door in the first place was incase the gardener came in! No chance of being unexpectedly disturbed in our living room! grin

FrussoHathor Fri 09-Aug-13 00:00:56

Must post at midnight

FrussoHathor Fri 09-Aug-13 00:07:06

Darn it 56 seconds late. grin

Has anyone else's baby seemed to have developed cold symptoms (little cough, runny nose, rattly chest) since their first injections or is it just me? I'm not sure if its the injections or coincidence?

Poor ds, this set seems to have knocked him out more than the last. I can put him down without him waking up and crying. sad

peardrop2 Fri 09-Aug-13 01:28:02

I'm really not looking forward to the second set of jabs :-(

peardrop2 Fri 09-Aug-13 01:30:34

Kitty ~ help! Baby pear has been going to bed earlier and earlier 7/8ish but then he wakes up for his first feed at 12:30 shock is this normal? He's not settling down properly until 9:30pm so I can't understand why he's waking up so early hmm

peardrop2 Fri 09-Aug-13 05:22:32

Kitty ~ ignore previous comment. It's got to be stupid reflux causing his sleep disruption :-( I had cheese on toast at lunch and cream tea scones in the afternoon. One of them is the culprit to my misery tonight confused

Pear do you find what you eat effects his reflux then? It's not uncommon to find they want to go to bed earlier, dd1 used to start getting really upset if we didn't start getting her ready at 6 and was always asleep by 7, dd2 is starting to become the same and sleeps longer the earlier I put her to bed? Very strange
We've got the jabs next wk, 15th yes frus we've had runny nose and ratteley chest and sneezes but I thought she maybe had a touch of hay fever, didn't link it to the jabs!

Oh and frus I don't know who the f@*# Megan is either! Apparently my daughter as that's who her jabs letter is sent for! I've told them twice now and they updated it at the last one, starting to piss me off now, she never was or had been Megan

AGnu Fri 09-Aug-13 07:43:49

I think DS2 is trying to get out of having his tongue cut. He finally settled at 10pm & is still sound asleep nearly 10 hours later! I feel like poking him! blush

Am dreading this appointment. It's at 9 & DH is going into work late so he can come with. I feel sick just thinking about it. I hate the thought of mutilating my baby! sad

FrussoHathor Fri 09-Aug-13 08:04:57

<holds agnus hand>
try to think on it as a medical procedure to help him eat and speak and swallow properly. The actual procedure is very quick and the positives for you and him are so high.

peardrop2 Fri 09-Aug-13 08:11:48

And they don't feel it as the bit they cut has no nerve. What they hate is having someone open their mouth to lift their tongue. Like Frus says its v v quick! I found the 1st lot of injections more traumatic!

Kitty ~ I'm not 100% sure about whether the food effects his reflux but it has to be likely? It's the only thing that changes from day to day.

FrussoHathor Fri 09-Aug-13 09:15:21

pear food does effect reflux. If you were to take antibiotics that could make it worse too.
Ds felt it. He didn't cry until she snipped. I think because sub mucosal is a thicker piece.

AGnu Fri 09-Aug-13 10:10:02

There's no tongue tie because he can stick his tongue out & the tip can point. hmm All our issues are down to attachment apparently.

FrussoHathor Fri 09-Aug-13 10:42:13

Seriously shock oh agnu i feel like frustratedly crying for you.

AGnu Fri 09-Aug-13 12:24:45

That's odd, I posted a whole response & it disappeared! confused

It's ok Frus, I'm crying quite enough for all of us! Better attachment does help but I still think the bad latch is a symptom of the tongue-tie, not the cause of the problem. It's really made me doubt myself though. She's the professional after all...

I'm hoping to push for a second opinion but that'll mean going private & convincing DH. He obviously believes the midwife & suggested that we try out being really careful with the latch & 'see if it helps enough'. I've told him I'll try it for a week.

There's someone in Southampton who specialises in tongue tie but won't touch lip ties. He'd be easiest to get to because DH's parents own a flat down that way so we could stay there. I'm tempted to take an in-for-a-penny type approach & go straight to a specialist in Harley Street who'll do both TT & ULT.

Don't really know what to do, if anything, right now. sad
