It turned out it wasn't chicken pox, so a post viral rash would be my best guess

The kitchen floor is being laid today and the units should be arriving today or tomorrow The Walls have been painted and the wallpaper should be arriving by the end of the week.

Even though it dh and his blokes doing the work I am heartily sick of having people in the house. They are noisy and dirty and getting on my wick. And we have the living room to do yet ....

No ILike, you must pretend having your kitchen done is much less stress than you imagined (begs the woman who has managed to book hers to start the first Monday of the school hols)

Off out for dinner with two of my NCT group, both of whom are expecting second. Will I be turned before the evening is through?! Hmm

Hello, signing in for the shiny new thread :)

Thankfully the kitchen is the last room that should need doing at this new house, so no rush on that one. I've got a pantry [far too excited], and enough cupboard space to not need to put anything (as yet) on those top shelves that I can't reach.
We did think the bathroom was ok too but DH keeps finding little things that need doing in there - the bath is held up by luck apparently Hmm.
He's currently stripping what will be the baby's room and I've just managed to get lots of sticky pictures off the window in there.

Glad you're feeling more like yourself Kitty :)

So, have you been swayed in favour of no.2 Daisy? I'm beginning to be bored of being pregnant, but not ready for a newborn yet. I also seem to have hit the itchy boobs stage Blush

Hello NandH, of course you can join everyone is welcome Smile

There are a few potty training at the moment. I'm not, ds isn't interested in the slightest.

Of course having a new kitchen isn't stressful AT ALL Yoni It has taken ages because we have done major structural work done too (walls taken out, steel in, new ones put in etc)

Oh, I do love a pantry firefly. The house I grew up in had one and the house I later moved to with my parents had a proper one with air bricks and everything.

lol at delight & dictator - sounds familiar Grin

Welcome NandH. We're potty training because DD seemed to be ready - she was ripping her nappy off when she needed a wee and plonking herself down on the potty. It's going well at the moment, although bedtime and naptime have become fecking annoying testing. We will see how it goes...

Question for all those you've gone through potty training with their big ones. What did you do about car journeys? I'll obviously try and encourage a potty trip before setting off but do I just accept there will be accidents or should I use pull ups / put something down on the car seat to try and protect it?

I'd ignore any nagging from your MIL though. Parents always seem to have plenty of stories about how their little Johnny was toilet trained at nine months. They can't all be true!

Hope you're getting there with the kitchen ILike. At least you've not got the pox to contend with at the same time!

I've got a thick washable pad that sits in the bottom of the car seat. We put a nappy on ds2 if we thought he would fall asleep in the seat. It's like Russian Roulette!

Ds3 pre school sessions were confirmed today - 2 mornings a week. His first session is the same day as ds2 first day at school. I will be an emotional wreck.

Eek ILike!

DD starts on the Thurs back, so we have a days leeway as the boys go back on Thurs - not that they're doing anything majorly new, but DS2 will have a new teacher for the first time in 2 years so that could be in-ter-est-ing...

DD is in a bed now, we moved her into it a couple of weekends ago. At night she's fine but naptimes are a bit hit and miss. She does seem to be happy to stay in her room though so that suits me fine!

We took down the stairgates/kitchen gate downstairs and have mostly moved her onto open cups, proper plates, normal chair, etc. Though the threat of the high chair is still there for when she fidgets too much!

But she is growing up so fast :( & :)

Kitty - having caught up on the old thread, well done to you for sticking with it and seeing HVs/GPs. I really hope the ADs kick in and work perfectly for you. I was on them back when DS2 was doing very badly and they definitely helped.

Hurrah, Kitty, that's brilliant. Had lovely evening with my two pregnant NCT pals. I do feel a bit more like well, if they can do it maybe I could too, esp re the one who found things as difficult as me with her first ......but I'm still majorly on the fence!

:) Kitty - fab news!

Thank for the tip Ilike - I might hunt round for some sort of padding for the car seat in case of accidents.
