Thought I'd take the liberty of starting a new thread since the last one filled. So mark your places, get comfy and prepare for a few sleepless nights!

In particular we think of Empress and little Sam - hoping and praying he's coming home! :)

I'd written replies to the last thread so I'll copy and paste;
I honestly don't keep track of how much I feed Faithlet..it's usually 3-4 times overnight and in the day every couple of hours and the bottle in the evenings. I go with the attitude of if she's hungry, she'll tell me! Often she cluster feeds in afternoon/evening and I can't really count those because she can be on and off for several hours with little gaps.

With a combo of hand pumping first thing and trying the electric pump this afternoon I expressed about 120ml and she had the lot! We are giving her half before bath which seems to help. She'll kick for 5-10 minutes before screaming now! Definite progress :)

too I packed up all my maternity gear today too. Delighted to say I'm back in my jeans (although they're a touch snug!). Still in joggers round the house though. To be honest, I consider it an achievement that I shower and get dressed daily!

Hello all marking spot!
I also replied to previous thread then lost my post lol. Dd Doesn't have a routine as such she fits around older dcs and eats/sleeps as she pleases. She took 200ml in one go earlier so am hoping for a good nights sleep! Will be offering same at middle of night feed in hope of only feeding once before morning!

too thanks I have sort of been feeding on demand, but she seems to sleep for longer periods now and I'm more worried about her not having enough feeds rather then feeding too often!

Ooo I know what I meant to ask!

Has anyone else felt abit jealous of those they know who are now pregnant? I hate pregnancy yet some how would like to do it again even though I know I actually wouldn't.

Thanks for the new thread Bex!

Num I'm a bit jealous about those who are pregnant! But then I look at H and just think how we need to enjoy him!!!

About to change him and do midnight feed. The 5 hourly is working so far Grin

No real routine here, I follow her lead and the advice never to wake a sleeping baby!

I do try to bf her as often as possible in the day to hopefully minimise night feeds. She is asleep atm but I started watching The Tudors!

num3 I am so glad you said that. I have been so jealous having seen pics of two newborns as well as pregnant people. Then think I must be mad- my baby is only 6 weeks old!

I was jealous of newborns when my LO was about 3 weeks old, they lose that 'just been born' look so quickly!

Not jealous, just relieved it won't be me giving birth imminently!

Gosh I'm not jealous! Still relieved I'm not pregnant any more. Every time I drop something I think Oh no!, then realised I'm not pregnant any more and can bend over to pick it up! I'm also finding it a bit easier to look after her now she's not so tiny. I guess though she now weighs about 7lb so Faithlet us about the size of an average newborn!

I hated being pregnant but having baby made me want another (which I was against before!) my attitude before having her was that if we stick with one then she can have full attention etc, but now she is here I feel like I need another to spread my attention as I love her too much and will smother her as she grows up!

Baby username didn't really sleep overnight, she didn't cause trouble and didn't need feed from 11-6 but no real sleep, after her 6am bottle of expressed she seems hungry now so will feed her again! If she doesn't settle this time just going to take her out for long walk to sleep. Thanks to those who replied with similar experiences am finding it reassuring to know others had this and it passed!

Morning. I have B and W in with me for snuggles as we still have this blasted cold/cough, noting is shifting it at all :(

I too am letting W demand feed, he seems to have set a routine of his own and he seems satisfied. His weight gain is terrific. He looks like B at this stage but he is so much heavier/larger.

I talked with DH more about contraception and more babies, two weeks ago I would have said no more, but now want to have the option, you never know.

My tear is healing well, but it feels uncomfy, like they've sewn too much together and it's no longer supple or neat. It feels horrible when I sit astride my motorbike, I just had to move it out the garage and into a shed and it felt really tight. I can't sit cross legged or any floor based position. I've been doing my pelvic floor exercises, but beyond that don't know what exercises to do to help regain some comfort down there.

I seem to bleed if I do lots of active things.

The day I had Wilf a good friend came over, she had done a preg test that morning and it was positive, so she is expecting DC2 in January. A few other friends have confided if their pregnancies too, we are all part of a large group of friends, so four new babies due dec/jan, they are going for 12 week scans in the next few weeks, so will be outing themselves soon. I will have some knitting to do :)

W did a poo last night just as I removed the dirty one and was about to put the clean one under him. Little bugger, had to put the lamp on as the LED is not strong enough to see where all the poo had gone. Not once did B do that, but pretty much every time he has his nappy off he poos. Told DH he needs to get up so I can change the sheet. He said it's alright, put a muslin on it and go back to sleep Shock Men, if it had been on his side there would be more protest I am sure.

Empress, I do hope you get to take Sam home today, it is really weird being at home with a baby and being solely in charge, do try and check out the support groups in your area, it does keep you sane, speaking to other mums.

Candy answering a question from the last thread, activity includes really anything, including nappy changes and baths. It is just to try to break the feed/sleep process, so they are not being fed to sleep.

Not a great baby whisperer fan (just made me frustrated) but I did try to follow this concept, as it really helped when sleep training happened later... Meant that we did the feed before bathrobe, once we had a routine. Not that we are at that stage yet with baby E!

hi everyone.

that tear sounds painfull Kelly ouch. can you go to the gp. they might be able to refer you back to hospital if its really bad.

one of my neighbours is pg and I did feel a bit envious! I imagine I will try for number 2 sooner rather than later. does anyone know how long you should wait after c section? noone told me anything about that at hospital.

my baby is working out his own routine tbh I haven't got a clue how to train him any other way lol! he is usually awake from 8pm to 11 then wakes at 4 and 8. I can cope with this. he was waking at 1ish but has stopped that recently.

going to look at a nursery today. has everyone else already done this? my nct group seemed to have places booked already.hope I am not too late as I really want one specific nursery.

HadALittleFaithBaby · 24/05/2013 09:49

pebs I think it's a year to prevent the stress on the scar. I've applied for nursery because I'm only having 6 months off and need a specific nursery at work (hospital) because they do early opening.

My child has been awake since 5am! Expressed a bit so handed her over to DH and slept a bit but I'm knackered!

Nursery! I haven't even thought about it!!! Is it too late already?

My mum will be doing 2 days childcare for me and the other one could be one of hubby's sisters (her youngest starts school in September).

Pebs they advise waiting a year after a c section.
A friend of mine is pregnant and it's a weird feeling for me knowing I will never have another baby. Very surreal but not in a distressing way just kind of abstract.
I don't use a nursery (work/study from home ds1 is home ed) but I know around here people look around within a babies first year and go on the waiting list.
Really hoping empress you can take sam home today x

Routine - I am feeding on demand but F has settled herself into a routine really, feeding at 8am,11,2,5,8,1,4am. The times alter by about an hour or so somedays and she gets a bit restless in the evenings but generally is predictable so I can tell when she's tired/hungry. She likes to suck/feed herself to sleep sometimes though so dh always gives her back to me stating she needs feeding! My back is taking the strain! Hmm

empress so good to hear from you and fantastic news that Sam is doing well. Hope you get to come home today

Ooh, F is booked into private nursery from Oct too - the places were already being booked up!

Need some advice too and may pop along to bf support group but wonder if you ladies had any advice? I have a very strong let down and poor F ends up coughing and sputtering most of the time, then too windy/tired to have a full feed (usually at 4am feed when sleepy). Seems to be worse on right boob too?!
