Yay! We are back Grin! I am L S and M is going to school in August! Eek, my baby, I actually can't believe it. We had a bit of a mishap this week, she split her head at her cm's it was tiny but would not stop bleeding, so a trip to minor injuries was required and she got some magic glue, that stuff is amazing.

Woohoo thanks daisy :)
I'm J A with E!
He is currently retching into a basin beside me in bed. His lovely 8 month old brother has shared his sickness bug!
Glad M is ok!

Thanks for starting the thread daisy
shifty I have seen your name about here ;)

love the name shifty Grin

I fancy a name change, but I have been a daisy for so long I wouldn't know where to start! JJ for those who have forgotten!

Ouch, poor M! superglue, incidentally was invented by the American military precisely for dealing with field injuries...according to my DH (who is no less boring than ever he was )

Bleargh to sickness bugs

Fin is soooo ready for school, but at our school nursery and reception are all part of the same open plan unit and they have family groups of 15 reception and 10 nursery children so it won't be much of a change for him. I've requested a change of group as, come September, he'll have been there almost two full academic years anyway and a change will do him good I reckon. My main worry is that by the time his reception year is over he will be bored rigid!

And he is still a rubbish sleeper

Poorly DCs and sleepless nights... We could have had the very same thread 3 years ago!! Grin

J sleeps ok, I think growth spurts unsettle him. He's just had a few weeks of multi awakenings. He's up to my bazookas now but I am a short arse Shock

morning Smile

CB here though haven't name changed as have been this for so long it would feel strange!!

S still feels very much a baby to me and compared to other children his speech is still very babyish which I am concerned about Sad his vocab is amazing but the way he talks is like a 3 year old. I think I am going to wait till he starts school and see if they think there is an issue...do you all think that is ok or should I be doing something now?

Other than that life is pretty good Smile both my boys sleep well albeit with 6 o clock starts most mornings Wink

Shifty - we have booked our first all inclusive holiday abroad too. I am ridiculously excited about it Grin Where are you going? We are off to Benalmadena in Aug (due to J being at school already). We go on the saturday before the bank holiday and come back on 3rd Sept so it will give S a clear break from finishing nursery and starting school Smile

Have a good weekend all

E is in bed with us by morning most nights. Ah well he hopefully won't be doing it when he's 15!

Where you going on holiday shifty?
We are off to Lara Beach in Turkey in May. Went in 2010 and it was really child friendly.

E can't wait for primary 1, they have already been visiting from preschool one morning a week.

Oh I've been there ceebee it's nice and a short flight!

You could maybe ask the HV for their opinion on speech but i probably wouldn't be too worried.

Still under this name as do a lot of lurking - work too busy as Shifty can attest to ;)

J going in September and have only applied to the one school I would like him to go to! Should be fine as it's close by and has been under subscribed but a little nervous now...!

Good to see you all!

We have just moved house again, this is the last though, no more! So no holiday for us this year.

M is completely fine now but is telling the story to everyone Grin.

Ceebee, my friends dc had same issue she took her dc to gp to see if it was a hearing issue, had ears syringed etc and been referred for hearing test but don't think there was anything and gp advised just to wait till school and hopefully it will improve.

Think we are going to see wreck it Ralph today, after I go and get my first session of microdermabrasion, has anyone had it? Am a bit worried I will look like Samantha from satc after she has her chemical peel Grin

Where you getting that done blonde? One of our consultants does similar with a laser.

DH and I went to Side in Turkey before J was born, Antalya isn't a bad flight. I saw a couple of holidays in Lara Beach that we almost booked but then my Dad fell ill and all talk of holiday stopped.

Anyway, after 3 months of procrastinating we are going to Crete Grin we can ill afford it but I just don't care! We've had building works going on since 1st Oct Confused yes, we need to by and decorate rooms as we reshuffle the bungalow but hey, that'll always need doing.
6 months of building plus 1 month of ill Dad = 2 week away in my book Grin

Whoneeds - it was the 2 hour flight that attracted me to it...don't think I could cope with any longer Wink

Hadn't even thought about the HV tbh but even if I did, S is so shy that he just wouldn't speak when they came round to see him Nursery haven't mentioned anything to me but as good as they are with the children I don't think they are qualified to spot these things. I really don't know what to do!!

Shifty - hope ur dad is ok now?

Autumn - lovely to hear from you Smile do you work with Shifty then?

Hi ceebee - no I don't work with shifty but was down her way for an infamous by election recently. Was going to try and have a cuppa with her but I was kept busy delivering leaflets!

J is also a fairly rubbish sleeper - starts off in my bed, I hoof him back to his then he come back at about 5.30am! He is very excited by school though and tells me he will sleep in his own bed when he's 5 and at school!

MN here.
Same name as always.
We are going to Staithes for our holidays. Haha, not quite an all inclusive somewhere abroad!
But we love Old Jacks Boat and I thought, heck, why not?
it will be a long haul for us. about 8 hours by car I should think. We will do it over two days though by staying with my Dbro in Edinburgh, as we pass.

My DH is working away from home these days so we are all getting used to the new dynamics.
Yes, I am tired!
No, I am not getting Any crafting done Sad

ah well.
Not sure if J is ready for school, but then not sure he isn't either.
B was more than ready but J just doesn't seem fussed, which is good, I guess.
sorry guys, I have two heavy sleepers here. once they're down they're down.

J was actually woken the other night by his sisters 'noring' she sleeps so deeply!

Hello ladies Smile same name here too (PN with J) its so long since I was on here I forgot my password!

J is ready for school but like Daisy we have a combined nursery/reception which he has been going to for over a year so will hopefully just settle straight in.

We are also off all inclusive to Majorca in 9 weeks - I can't wait, 2013 has not been the best year so far for us.

I love seeing all the photos on FB of the 'babies' getting bigger and bigger Grin

It does not seem like over 4 years!!

Ladybuzz I knew who you were and then got confused by your initials until it clicked Wink Sorry 2013 has been sh*t so far - hope it improves and at least you have something to look forward to with your holiday.

I have been unsure if S is ready for school but recently he seems to have turned a corner - even my mum commented a couple of weeks ago about how he appears to have grown up suddenly and is clearly ready for school (apart from the speech obviously). I am SO glad he was born in November and not July/August as he wouldn't definitely not have been ready last September!! Just counting down the weeks until I am not paying nursery fees any longer Wink

Hi all,

RN with F and now R here!

Nice to see you here as well, but I am totally unable to connect this place with FB in my brain so please don't get offended if I get it wrong.

DS is not quite ready yet for school, unless they are used to little boys who only want to talk about dinosaurs for hours on end and then jump around lots, but I'm hoping this is normal. He is bright but has no idea how to behave, although he seems like every other 4yo when you look round a playground, so he should be okay. Not long until we find out which school, eh?

It seems so bizarre that they were ever tiny weeny babies, doesn't it? Grin. I keep telling DS that he was just as daft and tiny as DD once but he doesn't believe me.

At present we mostly have colds and 8 inches of snow, so have been trapped indoors for a week and feeling it. DS deliberately opened the landing stair gate this afternoon while I was putting a wash on downstairs and DD fell down three steps. Nothing broken but yikes. I've never run so fast as when I heard the gate go and then bump bump waah.

I've come up with a coping mechanism at moments like this which is to remember that a four year old is like me in some ways but that in others he is more like a tiny drunk person and in many ways behaving rationally is not part of his culture. He's on an exchange programme with the adult world, but we get to keep him and hope that some of his enthusiasm and joy for life rubs off on us in return for civilising him.

I have been learning about the age thing for Primary 1 down south. There can be some who have just turned 4 , is that right?

DS is definitely going, he will be the youngest in his class but the nursery teachers seem to think he'll be ok as he's quite confident and outgoing. Fingers crossed.

It has been the house of sick here today. DS1 was sick last night then DH started this morning. I had to hire a carpet shampooer this morning after Ewan not making the bathroom!

Off to bed now incase it's another long night.

That's a very good way of looking at it jars!
F sounds exactly like E! Who doesn't want to read the dinosaur book 30 times every day!??

Glad your DD is ok, I have all that to come!! DS not quite crawling but won't be long.

Count me in.
It is only a few weeks to. We get school results.
I was pg with ds2 just before ds1 started school. I was off work, fully paid. And my mum said to make sure I really enjoyed this time with him, just before school starts because its a very precious time. So I am doing that with ds2. I just can't get enough of him.
You all going to have to give me more clues about about who you were before, coz I can't work out all these name hanged :)
