Hi all, nearly at pil, A has been really good for the whole 4 hours in the car, we've only had to stop once!

Reastie she's stayed in her bed all night the last 2 nights, I'm amazed! smile

Will try and update from pil, hope everyone is well.

Ledkr Spain Fri 05-Apr-13 17:57:28

Am here in the O2 just having dinner and wine have ages to go until the actual boys come on and I'm already knackered.
Far too old for this malarchy.

wigglesrock Germany Fri 05-Apr-13 18:31:53

ledkr grin have a great time! Blow Zayn a kiss (bet you all had your heart in your mouth there, as do where I was going with that) I think he's gorgeous - objectively speaking, not in a phwoar I would way wink

ponyo enjoy yourself, am sure A will have a brilliant time.

reastie hope you and your jeans are becoming fast friends again

HobNob any word on the school place yet? As you may recall I was a little bit dolally with it all last year blush

Nothing much to report here. Sun is finally shining shock Might head up to the Giants Causeway tomorrow - may as well take advantage before the drizzle starts again.

Anna is counting away 1 2 3 4 5 8 and onwards. Not sure why she has taken such an umbrage to 6 and 7 smile

Ledkr Spain Fri 05-Apr-13 18:39:03

I blame the number jacks for dillys counting.
Dil told her she was staying with her yesterday and dilly looked at her and said now! And marched off to get her tutu and wellies as essential items to pack for a sleepover.

reastie Fri 05-Apr-13 18:43:20

wiggles Alice forgot the number 5 for about 2 weeks confused and then remembered it again! She's great at the teen numbers - it's 13, 15, 18, 15, 15, 13, 18, 13 (and more random numbers in any order). Btw I was overexcited about my slim jeans - they are too tight and I had awful stomach ache last night as I'd been wearing too tight jeans all day blush

Ledkr have a fab time. Now, you have got ear plugs haven't you? If not you'll have ringing in your ears for days afterwards from all that screaming <voice of experience from many boybandy concerts in my teens>

Ledkr Spain Fri 05-Apr-13 19:38:46

Never say too tight reastie and yes earplugs packed and ready

HobKnob Fri 05-Apr-13 20:52:54

reast bet you looked fabulous, hugesome well done smile Alice puts S to shame, she just about manages 2,3,2,3,2,3 but will tell all and sundry how old she and her sister are.

ledkr can't think of much worse than a Wand Erection concert <snigger> Hope Ells enjoys it though.

ponyo great news on bed and car journey! Hppe you survive pils.

wiggs been on tenterhooks all day but got my email eventually when I got in from work. We got our first choice, I'm delighted. She'll be going up with all her little friends and I can keep all my Mum friends blush. I remember you with O last year (or was it the year before shock)- you got your 2nd choice didn't you? Or was that emski and Ben?

wigglesrock Germany Fri 05-Apr-13 21:11:23

HobKnob just saw on FB you got your first choice. Olivia was last year, she got into Sofias primary but just by the skin of her teeth. Siblings aren't given first priority, it's distance. I think emski and Ben got second or third choice. Bit of a relief to have it all done smile

blizy Fri 05-Apr-13 23:18:51

Man, I'm getting so crap at keeping up with the thread these days! I'm just checking in, I shall catch up properly tomorrow.

Ledkr Spain Sat 06-Apr-13 07:44:26

Do you guys mean that you don't automatically get the school nearest or did you not want that?
We are very lucky as the infant junior and senior are a stones throw for us and the best in county so it's not something I've ever thought about. How stressful. Mind you I could have mansion for same price as me semi if I moved hmm

Ledkr Spain Sat 06-Apr-13 07:49:16

Btw I of course got swept up with the moment and thoroughly enjoyed 1d particularly Ella's delight and happiness.
Have it say too that they really are very good too. All address the fans individually and had a live band and no silly dances etc so I quite liked it.
I had a panic at the beginning cos IT'S SO HIGH I have a massive fear of heights and literally felt sick. It took a good hour before I could feel ok and I thought I'd have to leave at first.
Also massive queues at tube but Ive lived in London so not too scary but just huge.

Emski76 Sat 06-Apr-13 08:59:04

Hi all.
Good to hear from u Debs. Glad Imy got her school place. It was Ben who got our third choice tho we love his school now. We live in a fairly new build area in Weston and they keep building new bloody houses but no schools!!
Reastie, well done pn getting into those jeans. Im bursting out of mine. Have totally lost control of my eating at the moment. I just enjoy my food too much!!!
Ledkr, I am a closet 1D fan and have been accused of dressing Ben like them. Just a shame im old enough to be their mother.
Hi to everyone. On phone so not sure what else has been said.

Ledkr Spain Sun 07-Apr-13 22:47:26

My poor dilly is so poorly with her nasty cough. Took her to ooh dr but he says chest is clear. She can hardly rest she's coughing so much.
I've upped her inhalers and so far she's managed to stay asleep since bedtime. Won't be long tho I suspect.

wigglesrock Germany Mon 08-Apr-13 10:28:25

ledkr how was D last night?

Girls back to school today smile , well not Sofia - shes running a bit of a temp and has wait for it .... a sore throat. I swear I should have shares in Nurofen for kids!

blizy did you have any luck re more mindees/new job?

HobKnob Mon 08-Apr-13 13:26:06

ledkr poor little D sad I am so lucky with mine, when they get the coughs they never actually wake up just wake me up. Hope your night wasn't too dire.

wiggles poor old S, I thought it was O with the Throat Ishoos?

emski it's similar here, the two closest schools have an intake of 60 each but over 100 apply each year. Madness. They have to bus kids down to under subscribed (and not very nice) schools in Folkestone.

blizy hello lovely smile xxx

Imogen is so excited about school she keeps asking when she starts. It's going to be a long summer....

ledkr - Poor D. Does she normally use an inhaler or is it just for the cough? I had a horrible respiratory infection years ago and an inhaler was the only thing that would sort out my breathing - it's awful. sad

wiggles - Is S milking the sore throat for all its worth? grin

reastie - We could probably stretch to a Desperate Housewives house grin but we'd be mortgaged up to our eyeballs, so we have our sights set on something a bit more modest, especially as we're looking in a school district that is in high demand. I'd also never heard of applying for primary school places until we moved to the UK, I'm fairly certain a school here can't refuse a child who lives in the catchment area.

Emski - how are things with your mum? xx

Ledkr Spain Mon 08-Apr-13 19:25:08

Thanks all. She slept well last night thanks to inhalers and pillow under mattress. I don't mind if she wakes tbh she must feel shit.
Was given inhalers a while back for another cough but I've never really pushed it but this time she does really benefit from them.
Had to work today so she stayed with dil who us line another mother. When I git home she didn't want her to go and called "mi mi" in a pitiful voice (her names Amy)
Dh is back now. Not seen him since Friday morning I did miss him but he'll be annoying me by 9 oclock grin

Emski76 Tue 09-Apr-13 13:00:52

Hi all
American, would be sooo jealous if you moved into a desperate housewives house!!!!
Things with my mum are not good. Told her more about what my problem was with her (by text cos I'm a coward). I thought she had a right to know. I got very upset as she said she just wants a relationship with me but also accused me of being like her mum (evil, spiteful woman), and I feel so crap about hurting her, but I need to think of myself. Dh is popping into see her on Sunday with the boys on his way to his mums so I do feel a bit better.
Ledkr, glad D seems a little better. Did she sleep ok last night? Dh found Noah asleep on his bedroom floor the other night. We took a photos before we put him back into bed!! Dh is away until late Thursday night and although its hectic with the boys, its also incredibly quiet without him!!! He almost gets in the way!
Wiggles, poor S again! Ben went back to school tomorrow, apparently he thinks its boring!!
Right, back to work for me, booooooooooooo

wigglesrock Germany Tue 09-Apr-13 13:12:31

emski hope work is going ok smile. Please put your Mums words right out of your head - you're being more than fair sending dh round with the boys xx

Yes, I do think Sofia was suffering from Monday morningitis and who can blame her wink The difference in S and O re illness is staggering tbh - Sofia likes a bit of a wallow, blanket on the sofa, bit of medicine etc and Olivia is the complete opposite. To be fair to both of them, both their attitudes are equally as infuriating! I heard O crying in bed last night and went in - her throat was sore again, but she kept saying No it's not, even though she sounded like my Nana a 60 a day smoker.

She has a school trip today and she was frightened of me not allowing her to go. Needless to say she got some Nurofen, a bit more sleep and she's away to the Planetarium - Space was last terms topic!

We have had a few lovely sunny days lately. A bit chilly but no rain shock could it be Spring?

Emski - don't let her guilt get to you. As you said, you have to look out for yourself and your family first. Would it help you post about it in Relationships? Even if they don't have any advice, they will be very supportive.

wiggles - Poor O, just soldiering through it. sad

L was up during the middle of the night then for the day at 5:45. [yawn] He was crying "Maaaaaaammaaaaa" in a very sad voice and didn't seem to want anything other than some water and a cuddle.

We met with an estate agent today and he's trying to arrange some viewings for Sunday. grin

Ledkr Spain Tue 09-Apr-13 21:13:29

I told you ems the stately home thread is full of women like us you.
Since I cut IFF. Bit with my mum she is making far more effort.
Last week I was sad about ds and felt overwhelmed at everything I do for him and I cried on the phone to mum.
Ten minutes later she came to my house and cleared up made tea and sorted out the kids. I was stunned! It's what I've always wanted from her. She also told my friend how brave I was when I had cancer and that I'd still taken care of the kids when I had chemo.
I was [shocked] you know what you are doing is right so stuck with it.
american I love viewings! How exciting.
D woke a bit but she's so poorly I don't mind.
Had a tie with the drs receptionist when I rang for a blue inhaler and she spoke to me like a moron.
"In future you need to phone before ten (I did but no answer) in future you should fill on the online form" I lost the plot.
"In future if my child needs medication urgently I will do what I am doing now thankyou" she passed the phone to a colleague as if I was being abusive which I wasn't. Stupid twat

Emski76 Wed 10-Apr-13 13:02:42

Thanks all for your support with the situation with my mum. I keep doubting myself (she has a way with that), but even dh is supporting me when usually he'd tell me to talk to her because 'she's your mum'.

Led, how annoying about docs receptionist. What is it about them that makes them think they have the authority to do that??!!!!

Poor you all with poorly babies, Noah has slept loads due to his cough
and cold, I had to wake him after 7 yesterday morning which is unheard of!! Today he was calling for me at 5.45am though!!

Year end for me at work so majorly busy and stressed, but think I'm finally making headway with it!!

Has anyone got any holidays coming up?
Its 7 weeks until our week away in Looe Bay. I can't wait, just hope the weather improves drastically.

Ledkr Spain Wed 10-Apr-13 17:46:50

Yes ems we have our lovely weekend with pil to look forward to hmm
Actually I can't see we will see too much of them what with their procrastinating and being late for everything and my obsession with getting a front seat for the kids disco do I can keep an eye on them.
They will not be ready to eat (in a restaurant) until about 8 which is no good for kids so we can eat in the lodge then our with kids.
I'm not really sure why we are doing this cis they are late risers and massive long breakfasts n showers so it will be our lunchtime before they are ready to do anything and we'll have already done stuff.
Oh well.

ledkr - a PIL-free weekend with the PILs, sounds perfect. grin Also massive hmm at the receptionist, I think I would've shouted too, as anything with L being sick/in pain flips a switch in my brain and I lose it.

No holidays planned because my annual leave entitlement is dismal here. sad DH's mum and grandmother want us to visit this summer but flights for 3 of us are extortionate and it's a 26 hour drive (don't fancy that with a toddler). Maybe I can convince DH to go with L and leave me in peace to save money.

ILovePonyo Thu 11-Apr-13 20:56:37

Hello all,

Am typing this inbetween putting A back into her fecking new bed, an hour and 15mins and counting so far. I just went up and she was kneeling on the windowsill looking outside hmm This is doing my head in.

Visit to pil was ok, as expected but they are very well meaning all in all. A loved it, really enjoyed seeing her cousins and we managed to pop in to see my mum on the way home smile

We are going to lanzarote with my mum, sis and her dp in August, my mum very kindly paid as we would have no hope of going abroad otherwise! Am half looking forward to it (of course) and half dreading A being a lunatic on the plane/diving into the deep end of the pool hmm

Just quickly - emksi don't doubt yourself re: your mum, her comparing you to her horrible mum is just a way for her to hurt you. Hope you're ok.

ledkr poor D, how is she now?

I have noticed a couple of my fb friends have shared a pie chart of 'actual welfare spending' - the person who did it was my line managers manager at my old work place!

I have just threatened A with the naughty step if she keeps getting out of bed... hmm now that's desperate! grin
