Oh bless her. And poor Thea. How are you coping with 2 littlies and another on the way? You must be sooo tired.

Gosh Lockets, didn't know you were pg, wow. How far along? Congratulations.

Long overdue update on DD. No, teeth as yet. Very surprised as she seems to have been cultivating them for months. Some days i'm sure I can see the beginnings of one or two, then the next it disappears. She has recently started to start nipping me again when I bf. Still can't decide when to stop. The hv says I should stop by a year as there is no benefit after! That's not the general consensus of MN or WHO for that matter. Anyway, guess i'll know when it's time. I think dd may decide for me however.

DD has started to crawl properly this past week quickly followed by trying to pull herself up on the furniture. She loves to stand and would rather do that than play with her toys most of the time.

Eating is going well and i've started giving her a spoon to try and feed herself her yoghurt. Must remember to get a mat for the floor!! .

What else. Still sleeps really well thankfully.

Overall dd is a dream, sorry to gush, but she is. As are all of yours too

She starts nursery properly this coming Thursday and she'll be going for 2 days. I left her there for an hour last Thursday and she didn't even give a backward glance when I left . And, on my return gave me a look as if she didn't want to leave. She's the youngest in the babyroom. I'm so so pleased with it so far, it's a lovely babyroom, really comfy, exceptionally clean and lots of lovely toys. When I was there they had a delivery of new toys too. She'll have a great time there i'm sure and the staff are lovely. I, on the other hand, will miss her but I am quite looking forward to working for 2 days. No longer though .

Think that's about it. Hope all is well with the rest of the April 05 lot.

Thanks Am for the new thread!

DG - looking forward to seeing you both tomorrow - been ages.

Ryan still crawling commando style (but he certainly moves fast!), when he does go on all fours he just rocks to and fro!!!

Lovely to hear how all the babes are growing and congrats to Lockets!!!

well, did I speak to soon! After months of sleeping well, last night, dd decided to throw the mother of all tantrums (can they do that at this age?) She screamed blue murder when I put her in her cot, really really upset, never seen her like it before. Tried everything but eventually took her downstairs as she obviously wasn't tired. Tried putting her back a few times, with the same result. She was fine when she was up, laughing, chatty, smily grrrrr. Last ditch was at 10pm when I decided to put her in her cot sat up so she could decide when she wanted to go off. hey presto, she went off almost straight away . Thankfully she did sleep until 9 and I went to bed early too so we both got a good night afterall but gosh she was upset.

Thanks for the new thread, Aprilmeadow, although the word 'toddlers' got me a bit misty-eyed. Where has the time gone?

Congratulations, Lockets! I have to say I'm a bit envious, as I've been seeeeeeriously broody recently . No chance of going for #2 yet, though, especially as I was reminded of my horrible horrible birth and first few months postnatal tonight. Hmm. Not good! Mind you, if I keep thinking about that I will never produce a sibling for DD, and that would never do, as she is wonderful!

DD has also got her two top teeth this week, Darciesmum. Must be something in the water?!

DG - enjoy having some grown-up time while DD is at nursery. (I know I do!) It sounds like you've chosen a lovely place, which is half the battle.

Tooth number three is through with no.4 lurking! We thought that we had cracked the sleeping through but with the arrival of 3/4 teeth we are back to square one hope that when they arent so painful we can revert back to sleeping!

Hope everyone is doing well.

wow, congratulations lockets.... i can't imagine being pregnant again just yet, though am thinking that a 2 year gap between dd and a sibling would be nice (lets me off the hook for a while yet then!). Really hope you have an easy one. Glad to hear all the lo's are well.... eleni still doesn't have any teeth, though like delgirl, i've been expecting them to pop through for months now what with all the dribbling and chewing! Still no crawling, but quite determined to walk, and I suspect she might bypass crawling altogether. My money is on her walking by 10 1/2 months, we'll see. She is still a skinny but soooooooooo long. 9% on the weight percentile chart but 98% on the height percentile chart! Am back at work 4 days a week and really enjoying it. Feel like I treasure the time I have with her more while still being able to be me (and not just mummy), don't know if that makes sense. will try to log onto this threadf more regularly and keep up with everyone!

Hi all

Darcie had her hearing test today, she needs to go for another checkup in 4months as she is turning to see the high and low pitch sounds but not the middle one they have to turn it up a notch so she turns her head, but other than that her hearing and speech is perfect!!!

Report
aprilmeadow · 17/01/2006 18:42

Jack had his hearing test last week. He passed all levels, although on one he did take slightly longer to turn to the noise, but that was mainly due to him flirting with the health visitor!! Got his 9mth check on the 10th Feb.

OMG, i need eyes in my backside now!! He is climbing everywhere, i turn my back for one minute and he is opening a door/drawer. He is starting to be brave and take his hands away when leaning against something, not for too long, maybe a second or two - scary stuff!!

Hope everyone is well

I can't believe it Darcie said her fifth word today and it wasn't mum it was Nan.

So thats Grandad, dada, Hello, Yeah and Nan

little moo!!

Report
aprilmeadow · 18/01/2006 18:49

Thats so cool DM. Jack has reverted back to dada for everything. Mum mum has been dropped! think he has said something that sounds like hello, but nothing destinctive. He does understand the word NO, and shakes his head when you say it to him. If he is doing something naughty, like opening a drawer, then he looks either me or dh and smiles, shakes his head and then laughs. Cheeky little monkey

Hello everyone, managed to find the new thread.

Patrick managed to finally pass his hearing test yesterday, was touch and go as he really is not interested in the HV only the toy they tease them with! We're no where near walking or even crawling come to that - the velcro on the bum has worked!

Also no where near sleeping through - he did do it for a while so I know he can! Have done my research on other threads and have decided to try pick up/put down starting tonight. DH in Sweden for the week so won't have him moaning about being kept awake and having to work next day (does anyone elses dp do that or is it just mine?). Well fingers crossed that tomorrow will have cracked it (one night would be too much to dream for!)

Hope you're keeping well lockets - have you had your scans yet?

Well last night not too bad - woke at 3.30 and only took 40 minutes to go back to sleep with no milk. I thought he would scream but didn't even really cry, he then went through to 7.45 so today am feeling quite rested! - hope tonight is as good!

I feel for you on the sleep front - Freya is the same. Never occurred to me she'd still be waking up in the night at nearly 10 months! DH and I are in a constant state of exhaustion and every time we think she has cracked it she gets a cold or starts teething again and we're back to square one. Back at work week after next and not sure how I'll keep my eyes open all day!
Started settling at nursery this week and its been so much easier than I thought so you were all right! Stayed with her on monday then left her on her own for half an hour on Tuesday and an hour on Wednesday. When I left she waved goodbye and didn't cry at all. Took her this morning to see if she would go down for a nap ok with the nursery girls and it was no problem. V relieved! Going to take her for half days next week. Hope all the babies are well x

I'm glad mine aren't the only monsters still getting up at night! Ravi has gotten bad lately. They don't stay up, I just go and chuck them a bottle and leave them to it. They feed themselves and drop off again. Can't face cc with two of them.

My two have two teeth each and have been crawling for ages, they are cruising now and starting to stand alone. They are little terrors, love emptying cupboards and climbing up everything. They can say mum and dad, and understand sit, no and clap hands. They are still babies tho! Got a few more years to go yet.
