Angela Eagle's broken "office window" is actually on the communal hallway...

So they stuck a Labour poster over it to make it look like hers

All the images used were taken from an angle that didn't show the staircase.

They just keep getting caught out, don't they. John McDonnell's comment might have been inappropriate but he wasn't wrong Grin

During the run up to the indyref, Ian Murray (Labour MP) claimed his office had been vandalised by cybernats. Turned out it was a Yes sticker on the window...

Ffs, whether it is on a communal hallway or her office isn't the issue. It's that some idiot thinks hurling bricks through windows to intimidate people is acceptable.

Where's the evidence it was intimidation & not vandalism or burglary?

If it was intimidation, why not smash the actual office window, which was just round the corner?

Unless they didn't know it was there?

How do they know AE didn't recieve a threat saying they were going to throw a brick through her window, or it had something tied to the brick (like they did in films) showing who it was for? You and the person who made this film don't know, so why come to such a ridiculous conclusions with only half the evidence?

Do you realise that someone was arrested this week for sending a message to Angela, with threatened murder? And she has had many, many such messages, as have her supporters.
I watched a piece on Chanel 4 news this week, where a woman Labour Party worker was on the verge of tears for the entire interview, as she listed examples of disgusting messages and threats she and others had received. She also highlighted the fact that many women had asked for a secret vote at the recent meeting and Jeremy Corbyn voted against this, despite pleads from women who told him they were extremely frightened for their own safety.

What a lovely thing to do to your vulnerable, threaten "comrades".

Right. And I guess the online intimidation of people who support Eagle and Eagle herself is also imaginary? Was it the PLP inventing thousands of Facebook logins to abuse anyone who speaks against Corbyn? I guess the threats of being 'coxed' are by the PLP or their supporters as well, and everyone supporting Corbyn is entirely innocent of any and all threats or use of intimidator tactics? In which case why has Corbyn had to ask people not to do it?

I don't support Eagle, as it happens. I don't think 99 percent of Corbyn supporters are anything other than ordinary people who don't use violence and intimidation. I do think there is an issue of verbal aggression online which I have personally experienced and MPs claim to have experienced worse. I find it abhorrent that rather than say swe don't think this was one of us, but if it was a Corbyn supporter, we absolutely do not agree with these tactics' you think it is better to yet again smear her as fucking useless in McConnell's words. And in the movement, many are suggesting it was she herself (I suspect she knows which one is her office window, don't you?) .

The fact remains that it has been widely reported, & never publicly contradicted, that a brick was thrown through her constituency office window, even though it wasn't thrown through her constituency office window.

If there were threats of bricks, or notes tied to bricks, those would most definitely have been reported, wouldn't they? The anti-Corbyn brigade doesn't miss the minutest opportunity to fan the flames of opposition to him.

Incidentally the claim that she had to cancel a meeting at a hotel in Luton due to threats also wasn't true (& that hasn't been publicly contradicted by her side either). The hotel don't hold political meetings at all & they cancelled it when they found out what the booking was for.

There is nastiness on both sides, I don't like it, but I don't see how anybody can stop it - I mean seriously, he's supposed to have control over anybody who likes to send nasty emails? Maybe there'd be a bit less nastiness if there was less hype reported as fact?

(I have only heard of one use of "coxed" & that was in the letter allegedly delivered to one of the Portland PR people.)

"There's nastiness on both sides"

Can you show me evidence of AE side sending threatening, illegal emails/Facebook messages?

And what is your opinion on JC Voting AGAINST a secret vote at the resent LP meeting, despite pleas by frightened LP workers?

plenty on here (both ways)

Secret ballots aren't the norm at NEC meetings apparently. If Labour party meetings weren't so leaky these days nobody outside would know what was happening in them, at all, let alone as it happens, so who said & did what wouldn't be a massive issue.

I'm a supporter of Corbyn but aware there has been some vile, misogynistic, homophobic abuse aimed at Angela Eagle that is wholly unnacceptable. Corbyn has acknowledged it too and said it's not in his name.

Angela Eagle deliberately linked the breaking of a window in the building in which she worked with Corbyn and his supporters. She has not apologised. An MP who cannot recognise her own window? There are standards which MPs are supposed to uphold. The complaints of intimidation at Constituency Party Meetings has also been spread around the media and linked to Corbyn. I find it incredible that none of those allegedly intimidated have mobile phones. I expected to see hundreds of examples posted on YouTube. A search using "Labour intimidation" yields plenty of accusations but as far as I can see no evidence. It is far too easy to spread lies and unsubstantiated rumours if the Media is hostile.

Just on the secret ballot issue, some of the legal advice given to Corbyn 's published in full. It indicated disapproval of a secret ballot in the NEC meeting so it's pretty certain he was advised by his lawyers to resist it.

Some interesting opinions here about the alleged thuggery

Granted they're mostly from medium & the canary & Craig Murray but I reckon they're at least as valid as the original accusations.

& Conor McGinn's bullying thing today about Corbyn ringing his dad is just risible. Some of the Twitter responses are wonderful

Not only are we being told that Corbyn supporters are "bullies", but now the media is trying to get us to believe that soft-spoken socialist Corbyn himself is a a bully.

This is exactly what the Establishment media did to Farage when they portrayed him as a "racist", and now they are telling us that Corbyn is a "bully".

Report
RiverTam · 22/07/2016 21:24

Farage is a racist, and a facist and xenophobic. You loving the shit out of him doesn't change that, claig. And since when did having a quiet speaking voice mean someone can't be a bully? What a load of twaddle.

And if the media is hostile (and I'll agree it's certainly biased) why the fuck isn't Corbyn doing something about it? Because most if the general public aren't members of his fan club so they'll believe it. If he actually gave a shit about the general public he would do something to address his dire relationship with the media. But he doesn't.

'And since when did having a quiet speaking voice mean someone can't be a bully? '

I agree with that, but it looks to me like Corbyn is being bullied, not the other way round. The bloke is acting like a saint to the insults and accusations of the 172.

'If he actually gave a shit about the general public he would do something to address his dire relationship with the media. But he doesn't.'

There is nothing he can do. The Establishment and the 172 want Corbyn out and the media is doing the job of trying to turn the public against him. But it is beginning to seem so transparent, that the whizzkids behind it (probably the same ones behind Project Fear over Brexit) are losing the public's trust over this. Corbyn gives interviews in a park with constituents hugging him, he asks for hugs and gets them, and he catches "Krabby" and says his morning's work is not in vain, and the Establishment's finest teams tell us he is still a bully and will always be one. It just doesn't compute. This is starting to look the best and the brightest using Project Fear all over again in utter desperation.

'We caught Krabby': Labour in crisis, but a relaxed Jeremy Corbyn plays Pokémon Go in park

www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2016/07/17/labour-in-crisis-and-a-relaxed-jeremy-corbyn-plays-pokemon-go-in/

The end result of the best and brightests' attempts to fool the people, is that the people will end up liking Corbyn more and think that the Establishment's finest are "bullying" him.

The 172 and the Establishment media are accusing Corbyn of being "devious", a "bully", "useless" etc, and Corbyn is welcoming each of the 172 back into the fold and calling for unity and an end to their sniping.

'The sniping has to stop': Jeremy Corbyn calls for unity among Labour MPs

Addressing the parliamentary Labour party, the leader called for dissident MPs to end the ‘back-biting and public attacks’

No wonder Corbyn has more popularity among members than the 172.
