Are there really enough bored Tories to do this? Is there are single confirmed instance yet? Bound to be some, never say never and all that. But surely, the Corbyn surge is driven by the far left returning to Labour because Corbyn has fired their passions.

There may be few, but not many. Most complaints about rejections are coming from former Labour supporters, who are passionate about Corbyn;s leadership. People who had had enough of blairites and tory-lites.

Some old supporters rejected because they send £3 fee by cheques. Ridiculous HH comes out and defend this idiot act. Glad that she would be purged from Dy Leader post as well. Good riddance.

That's what I thought, Red.

It's interesting. In America, Bernie Sanders who is pretty far left by American standards is also doing better than expected.

People are longing for fresh face and principled stand. Bernie and Corbyn are breath of fresh air and people are supporting them.

Looks like blairites in Labour HQ deliberately rejecting Corbyn's supporters, enough some life long labour voters.

I believe that was the Amazing Mr Ed, looking to reform the system for the better, that many thought was overdue, but appear to regret it now.

The 'legal challenge' is becoming mentioned in several Labour big knob and knob-ets quarters now, blaming the £3 a vote Conservatives and other ringers for some reason can't be weeded out - so one way or another Corbyn is unlikely to be crowned.

"Labour leadership: Andy Burnham calls for urgent meeting over concerns that 'large scale' Tory infiltration could lead to legal challenge"
www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/politics/labour-leadership-andy-burnham-calls-for-urgent-meeting-over-concerns-that-large-scale-tory-infiltration-could-lead-to-legal-challenge-10465250.html

"His team has written to Labour HQ demanding a meeting be held early next week between all four campaigns, claiming that the evidence of ‘entryism’ from supporters of other parties in the leadership election could result in the integrity of the contest being called into question."

"The outcome of the election could even be subject to legal challenge unless the party takes immediate action, Mr Burnham’s camp warns."

Me, I'd rather spend that money in a £1 shop and get .....three....I..... think...items for that princely investment.

I just don't think there are enough Conservatives willing to bother and minded to do it, to make much statistical difference. I really do think that people on the left are coming back to the party after years in the wilderness.

It's a lot more palatable to blame "the Tories" deciding if you want your pre-New-Labour voters back is more complex.

This is the biggest upheaval in British politics ever. None of the great and good saw this coming.

Two Guardian journalists discussing on video whether Corbyn is electable. Seumas Milne understands the enormity of what has happened and Rafael Behr has old-school thinking with hope in the old New Labour model.

The Establishment and their candidates have been blindsided, they are throwing everything at Corbyn that they can, there is real desperation in the top ranks of the Labour elite as they see their power slipping between their fingers and know that they are powerless to stop this popular tidal wave, this people's insurgency and this popular demand for real opposition, real politics and a real challenge to the cosy Establishment consensus of the same tired old Oxbridge elites and robotic spin machines.

If Labour try to annul the election, claiming infiltration etc or if they rig it by excluding genuine voters, the consequences will spell the end of the Labour Party because the people will no longer vote for the Esablishment servants.

What is at stake is the future of the Labour Party and of the direction of British politics as a whole.

Apart from Liz Kendall, who at least seems real, the other plastic leadership candidates, apart from Corbyn, are a disaster. They either chop and change continually in kow-towing appeasement ( a la Burnham) or peak like unconvincing, desperate robots prattling out the same tired lines (a la Cooper). How can the people have hope in that, is that the best Labour can offer? It is desperate stuff.

I don't think their Stop Corbyn operation can work. It's too late, it's gone too far and the people have had enough.

Stephen Bush, the good journalist who writes for the New Statesman, was on Sky the other day and said he thinks the reason that Ed Miliband has not yet come out, with all the rest of the Labour bigwigs, to throw his weight against Corbyn, is that Ed possibly has more synpathy with the Corbynites than with the rest of them.

Will they crack Ed, will he Establishment twist his arm behind his back and force him to weigh in against Corbyn, the people's candidate? Maybe not. Maybe Ed is with the people and has had enough too.

What a laugh it would be if Corbyn gives Ed a senior post in the Cabinet when all the rest of the shower didn't want to offer Ed a senior role. Ed is alright, it's the rest of them that are wrong.

”Ed possibly has more synpathy with the Corbynites than with the rest of them.”

You do make ME larf;

No surprises but Corbyn spent 3-hours at Unite’s HQ yesterday, so what do both Ed Miliband and Jez Corbyn appear to have in common, re how they came to be Labour leaders?

Moreover you scoffed when I said on another thread that Miliband’s General Election manifesto was ‘Corbyn lite’, but I see Big Len’s footprints all over that manifesto and what Corbyn currently stands for e.g. State Controls, so Ed currently in Australia which is about as far away as he can get from this internal bun fight, is keeping his cabinet powder dry – while the power broker(s) in smoky back rooms line up their shadow leader/cabinet ducks.
www.mumsnet.com/Talk/in_the_news/2356888-Labour-Manifesto-Responsible-Credible-Visionary

P.S. For those that have spotted that the Conservatives have –stole—‘adapted’ some of the Miliband policies for their own, I would point out that the difference being e.g. on the Minimum Wage, is that under 1970’s Corbnyism the government adds to the increased pay pressures by INCREASING taxes, regs, red tape, controls – where under Conservatism ideology, they try to ease the big hand of government burden.

There are probably teams of interns (on less than minimum wage) working night and day, scouring every video and speech that Corbyn has ever made in the past 30 years, under orders from on high to find something, anything that can stop Corbyn. There are probably crisis meeting with the media, luvvies being called upon, actors and slebs already filming sickly sweet Establishment party political broadcasts to try and stop Corbyn, charidees being called upon, Knights and Dames of the Realm, every servant and spinner being called to urgently come to the helm. Blair tried and failed, then it was Kinnock and then Gordon Bennett, himself. It's all going down like a lead balloon in rooms with an audience of no more than 100 luvvies while Corbyn addresses thousands and then thousands more outside.

The elite are fuming, they now see and agree with the people, that their servants really are a useless shower. They know the game is almost up, so they have called on their last hope - a nasty looking piece of work called McTerninator. "Morons," he cries, "they're all morons". The people won't disagree with that, but he has had a go at Corbyn and the people won't stand for that, all his spin and tactics are inevitably falling flat.

It isn't just Corbyn voters that have been purged. Just like it isn't the Tories that have 'infultrated'. Those of the far left have too.

'It isn't just Corbyn voters that have been purged.'

Who else has been purged?

The sad thing about it for the elite is that they hoped they would be able to get hundreds of thousands of interns (on less than minimum wage) to join the Estabishment party, pay £3 and vote for the Establishment candidates. But even the interns aren't that stupid. They want a future career,, they didn't go to Oxbridge to go under with the Blairite ship and sacrifice their prospects for Captain Blair and his band of desperate desperadoes. They are searching for El Dorado, they want champagne and avocado, they are just as sick as us of all the bullshit and bravado. They don't want their future to go down the Blairite bin, they've joined the people and voted for Corbyn.

'That panic you describe is likely true'

howtorebuild, you are right. You only have to look at their agonised faces and listen to their strangulated staccato voices on TV to see that they are at breaking point, on the edge.

Blair talked about the Labour Party needing to avoid walking off a cliff, but the Labour Party has ben reborn, it has gone back to its roots, the people are flocking to listen once again. It is the elites who are on the edge, walking off the cliff.

Corbyn is as calm as a cucumber in his allotment and just says "we do not do personal abuse" and that is what finally drives them off the edge of the cliff. They lose it, because they have lost it.

I am meeting someone who is a lpm next week to discuss voting.

I have Jeremy as my 1. I am not sure if I will give anything to the others now. I am glad I held off registering my vote yet.

I may go for Stella, as Caroline is annoying me going on about her single mum all the time.
What do you know about the people on the right hand side of the list?

just picking your brain really.
