time for a new spiritual thread about all things woo?

new poster on this part of mn and noticed looking back on this board that there used to be a lot more threads about all things woo. Is there any interest to start a general discussion thread? Be really nice to keep this thread to discussing various topics within the realm of spirituality and ask for those who would like too debate whether I am crazy or believe in unicorns to start another thread if they wish to discuss thissmile Ty.

So me? Well i am a reiki master...did my masters about 5 years ago but have sort of come away from it for various reasons. not sure if i want to continue with it. i believe in it but not sure its for me

At the moment I am quite into all things mediumship as i have found myself at a crossroads in life. amazing what a range of psychics there are out there. i have personally never had a reading where i thought the reader was completely accurate but i know many who have. my freakiest one was one who told me something about dd's appearance which i had mentioned to someone else recently. i have no idea how she knew it and still a bit freaked out!

I also seem to attract lovely woo people into my life. recently I met up with someone I did a course with. I had not mentioned anything about my interest in all things spiritual and she started to tell me about a reading she had and how her parents house is haunted. So now we meet regularly for coffee with our dds and have spiritual conversations.

Oh and i am also really into law of attraction.

So that's it from me. Please post if there is an interest in a thread of this nature. If not I shall ride into the sunset on my unicorn smile

gtedder1 Fri 22-Feb-13 13:43:47

I too am really into the law of attraction. I first became interested in it after i read "the Secret" about 4 years ago and ever since i have become more and more interested.

I definately believe that thoughts are creative and the more you focus on the things you don't want...the more of those things you will attract. I try to live every day being optimistic and i am so much happier for it.
I have also read " the magic" which has made me realise how things can so easily be taken for granted and how important it is to express your gratitude for everything you have going for and how being thankful brings more things to be thankful for into your life.

I can honestly say that I am a much happier person now than I have been in my whole life. smile

angelelle Fri 22-Feb-13 16:40:39

I've read The Secret and Magic and I totally agree. i love The Secret website and all the stories people post there. I do LOA mainly for money and it always workssmile

IndigoBarbie Fri 22-Feb-13 17:02:15

Hiiiiiiiiii I've been waiting for you xxxx

angelelle Fri 22-Feb-13 17:09:20

Did you have a premonition indigosmile I have been thinking about someone starting up a spiritual thread again!

gtedder1 Fri 22-Feb-13 17:29:46

i created a wish list a while ago, when i was reading the magic....and two of those things have been delivered so far. It definately works but its very easy to feel doubtful sometimes. I've not really used it specifically for money yet. And i seem to sort of go back and review my list and chop and change things!! I really want to create a vision board to help me stay focused on my dreams/goals. Am in the process of trying to find images for it of things i want to achieve.

timidviper Fri 22-Feb-13 17:42:01

I love spiritual stuff but am not quite sure what I do believe in yet! I have a qualification in complementary health but am not currently using it

Have read the Secret, is The Magic worth getting too?

angelelle Fri 22-Feb-13 17:56:57

Viper. i think a lot of law of attraction stuff can be found online for free but the books are reasonably priced on Amazon . I have mainly used it for money and it nearly always works and money has come from strange and unexpected sources. i have not done a vision board but often thought about it.

gtedder1 Fri 22-Feb-13 18:00:06

"the magic" was definately worth it for me!! it teaches you how to attract more of what you want through gratitude.

Panadbois Fri 22-Feb-13 21:25:26

Yay! I want to join too!

I've done Reiki 1 + 2 and have been going to a development circle for about 7 months.

I picked an Angel card yesterday and the one I got was Law of Attraction smile so obviously want to learn more about it.

marissab Fri 22-Feb-13 22:55:17

How weird i should find this thread tonight. I'm at the point where i've finished level 2 reiki and need to be brave enough to go out and earn some money doing it. But even more interestingly, i read about something today i'd never heard of called 'indigo children' and i see there is an indigo on this thread. I've gone from never hearing of it to coming across the term twice in one day! Interesting!

angelelle Sat 23-Feb-13 07:14:39

Hi marissa. I have read a bit about indigo children too and the new cohort of children are classed as crystal children apparently ..they are meant to have very pure loving hearts. have not read much about it. indigo children are very creative i think and some say there are links between adhd and indigo children.

I never really worked earning money with my reiki but i did have somr quite amazing experiences after level 2, like dreams and i am sure I had an out of body experience.

those who are curious about loa i can also reccomend cosmic ordering

marissab Sat 23-Feb-13 08:00:58

Indigo kids has literally never crossed my radar which is surprising given my background in autism. My son also has high functioning asd and adhd. Arecrystal and rainbow children the same?
As for reiki, i have become more in tune with other people since i recieved level 2. I've also kept thinking i can see the ghost of the last occupant of our house but i'm used to things like that anyway.
I would really love to do reiki for a living. It's so relaxing to do. And a lovely therapy. I've been told there's a high demand for it now as well. I absolutly love reiki. It's the best thing i've done in years. Amy pagans on here?

CloudsAndTrees Sat 23-Feb-13 11:28:33

I'm with you!

I believe in the law of attraction, and although I've never had any unexpected windfalls, I'm very lucky because I've always been able to find money when I need it. I think it works anyway because if you go through life with optimism and trust that you will be granted the things you need, then you are bound to be happier. I think appreciation is the big secret to happiness.

I have done my reiki 1, and really need to get round to doing reiki 2, although I'm not sure i want to earn money from it. I also need to dedicate more time to meditation.

I believe in angels, and I'm very thankful we have them. They are ace!

I'm not sure about mediums though, I worry because there is too much scope for vulnerable people to be hurt through them. That's not to say that I completely disbelieve, but I don't think it's for me.

Love to everyone on this thread.

seeker Sat 23-Feb-13 11:30:52

Who's going to be the first to claim Jamed Randi's million bucks, then? You don't have to keep it, obviously, but there are loads of charities which would be very grateful for it.....

marissab Sat 23-Feb-13 15:48:27

Lol @seeker. I somehow doubt anyone will.

angelelle Sat 23-Feb-13 17:07:37

I believe some people truly are clairvoyant but not all who claim they are if that makes sense and so yes, some do pray n vulnerable people. I believe as i know a couple of people who do this..but like I say sure lots of frauds out there as well.

I love angels and have had some amazing experiences when I have asked the angels for help.

Oopla Sat 23-Feb-13 23:43:33

Oooh I like woo! waves like someone who's waited a long time to meet woo people

Oh oh is there a woo book club?

angelelle Sun 24-Feb-13 14:46:44

Welcome . not sure about a woo bookclub, maybe we can start onesmile
For those here who do reiki, has anyone heard of or tried karuna? Its the next level on from reiki apparently. I have had it done twice and the energy was amazing. very cool.

Also at the moment curious to visit a spiritualist church. Has anyone been? I haven't but would like to try although I used to work with someone who used to go to them and she was...well ..a little too woo for my liking grin

Oopla Sun 24-Feb-13 15:27:28

Angelelle- my nan was a regular at our local spiritualist church and after she died I went a few times, wasn't expecting any messages but sort of felt drawn there. It was really friendly and lots of folk there that had been going for years.
Do you have one near to you that you could drop into?

Ultimately it was a bit too much for me but I sort of got it if you know what I mean. I think they provide a lot of comfort for those who've recently lost someone.

angelelle Sun 24-Feb-13 20:02:05

Yes I've heard that from several friends who have been. that it can get a bit too intense. am not planning to be a regular, just curious really to visit once. yes there are a few near me and a friend who has offered to take me. did you get any messages?

Oopla Sun 24-Feb-13 20:58:50

I got a chap who said he felt a message was for me but totally didn't relate to what he was saying. Imagine psychic Sally falling on deaf ears! I felt bad and like I wasn't playing the 'game' in some way.

I went straight to circle meetings though and when I first enquired the lay woman had said come to Sunday service first, it's a gentler introduction.

Would never knock them, there is something special about them and the people who go. Def refreshing change from a regular church.

angelelle Sun 24-Feb-13 21:46:30

Good for you though for not just agreeing. I have had a few readings and sometimes I worry that I am just being suggestive (if that's the right word) when on reflection I have made the statements fit. I always plan to go in saying nothing but end up getting a bit overexcited about thingssmile

IndigoBarbie Sun 24-Feb-13 22:04:40

Hey all smile
Angelelle, Karuna is a lovely energy too, isn't it? I'm not attuned to that, but I am attuned to a few different types of reiki, and through my journey I can honestly say that when people try to tell you 'this is the next level' etc etc, then it's just that everything is slightly different in a vibrational sense. I think whichever you are drawn to experience, or learn are the right things for you. They are all part of the journey for you, and each will bring their own merits for you.
Marrisab - oooh your angels are speaking to you!! smile Indigos twice in the one day........smile
Hey seeker, I still haven't JR challenge......

marissab Mon 25-Feb-13 08:54:03

Lol thanks indigo. I'm not a believer in angels as such but i do believe we are guided towards certain things through fate. Never heard of Karuna energy. Will have to look in to that. I am prob not as woo as alot of you. I tend to need rational explanations for things. I wouldn't ever go to a spiritualist meet coz i looked in to tgeir background and i don't buy it, but i have had quite a few private readings. I just accept them as fun though. I try not to let them influence any decisions i make. I am more in to energies and working with them etc. I recently eatched "the secret" and i thought it was good. As in, i do believe you can get more positive things in life if you think positive thoughts. Still havn't won the lottery but i WILL! grin

Panadbois Mon 25-Feb-13 13:27:08

I go to my local Spiritualist Church every week. There's nice welcome, we sing a couple of hymns and pray, have a reading, and the guest medium give philosophy.

Must be said that the mediums that come along vary in 'ability'- some giving names and places, others grasping at straws. It has been a good three months since I have received a message at church and am starting to think what's wrong with me???!!!!

I have had a look on Amazon for 'The Secret', and the reviews are awful so didn't buy it. Convince me?

marissab Mon 25-Feb-13 13:43:40

Panadbois do you have netflix? The film is on there. I wouldn't have bought tge book but i watched it for free on there.

angelelle Mon 25-Feb-13 15:09:50

Pan. borrow from the library ..that's where i got mine although then went ahead and bought them. if you have to choose one i would say the magic as it gives you tools and the secret can come across as a bit American iyswim.

is anyone here able to explain to me how people work as empaths? I recently had a reading by a wonderful woman who really seemed to tune into emotions of me and others and i was wondering how this is done or how one can sense others feelings? Anyone ?

Re LOA i mainly apply it to money and one month i really needed an extra 1500 Pounds. Asked the universe and received almost that amount via three very unexpected sources. i amazed even myself ! Always remember to say thank you.

oh and i know about full stops and capitals but write on phone while bf dd so get a bit lazy [grins]

marissab Mon 25-Feb-13 16:45:06

I have a question. Does anyone have experience of children exhibiting past life knowledge? My oldest would walk up
And down the room at age 2, holding an invisible hand which creeped us all out. But my youngest who is also 2, has now started doing strange things too. She is very advanced in her speech and has been able to count quite high from about 18 months and is an exeptional speaker for her age. We've heard her say goodnight grandma over the monitor at bedtime. Grandma died many years ago. Today she did something strange. She picked up my ukulele and a plastic tube. She started to run the pipe across the strings of the uke and said "look mummy a violin!" we don't own or play the violin. I literally have no idea where she would have seen one or know how to play one! I don't even know what term to google to see if it's a common thing in kids.

Oopla Mon 25-Feb-13 16:51:04

I found the secret a bit meh. Think and grow rich is a bit of a classic.

Anyone into Huxley? I loaned a pile of them from the library a couple of years back and had them so long I now have a Massive fine. I should've paid more attention to think and grow rich grin

angelelle Mon 25-Feb-13 18:48:21

Marissa if you look back in this section there are a few threads on that ie children and past lives. Have you tried asking your dcs like'where were you before you came into mummies tummy '? Bit scary though I agree. again probably lots of resources out there on the net. I have no experience as dd only little but I already feel like she has an old soul ..but then I'm her mumsmile

Oopla Mon 25-Feb-13 19:09:32

Marissa that's spooky but also cool! Do you think grandma is watching over your DC's?

IndigoBarbie Mon 25-Feb-13 21:16:45

I'd class myself as an empath. I don't like using labels to describe things, but this seems to fit. I don't know how I do it, I just do. I have the ability to tune into peoples energy and over the years I have learned a lot from doing this. Even in every day life, I have become much more aware of people's thoughts, and true meanings behind their words, written, spoken or thought, and I know how energies can affect other people.
Marissa - my DS (just turned 3) speaks of my father, who passed the week after he was born. We don't speak about him very much in front of him, but he has been telling us things he couldn't know. I know my father is around me a lot, I have psychic/mediumistic abilities too.
I am, however, on the giant learning path of all of these things. I've been able to draw conclusions on how my 'woo' 'ness, has been around since I was a young child. I am always learning, and in doing so, I hope to help some one else with their 'stuff', or at least help them make some kind of sense of it, if it's already happened to me smile xx with love everyone xxx
celebrate your intuition

seeker Mon 25-Feb-13 21:34:29

Very small children have very vivid imaginations.........

IndigoBarbie Mon 25-Feb-13 22:01:24

Yes, they sure do seeker.
But, I am no longer a child, and I am able to discern and attempt to describe what I see/hear/feel from the invisible world, it's still there regardless of who believes me, or who can or can't see it or feel it for themselves. :D

Seeker, with all due respect, why do you always have to get your neb in with these posts?! OP made it perfectly clear she wasn't interested in a debate, this thread is for those with an interest or involvement in 'woo', not those, like yourself, who believe it's utter shite.

Why not go start a new thread? smile

IamtheZombie Mon 25-Feb-13 23:44:11

I am in the all things are possible camp. Leaning strongly to the woo side.

If anyone would like to tune into me, I could use the support.

angelelle Tue 26-Feb-13 09:42:32

Indigo. would love to discuss further about being an empath. I often feel I pick up energies of places or people close to me but not from people far away which I guess is an ability readers have when they look at a situation. I believe we all have some psychic ability, just some of us are further along the road.

A friend of mine recently completed the last part of a five part mediumship course. The final test was to read someone with a blindfold on. My friend actually freaked herself out with this reading ..pretty powerful stuff!

angelelle Wed 27-Feb-13 07:04:09

Marissa...trying to do a limk for you hete on children and past lives...hope it workssmile i too find past lives interesting and would love to be regressed but am a little bit nervous about it. I believe it needs to be taken very seriously so would need to find a practitioner I feel comfy with.

angelelle Wed 27-Feb-13 07:05:13

Nopr...lol sorry

marissab Wed 27-Feb-13 07:51:18

It's fine. I can copy and paste. Will take a look during dd nap time. Thanks for that.

EllieArroway Wed 27-Feb-13 09:03:40

describe what I see/hear/feel from the invisible world

You can "see" something invisible? How amazing. Science would be intrigued by that if you'd care to share.

IndigoBarbie Wed 27-Feb-13 21:14:40

Hey Iamthezombie, in what way do you need support?
marissab - I have knowledge of my own past lives, I've known a few friends whose children have spoke of memories too - as if they were fact. smile Do you need help in relation to this?
ellie what is it you need to know here?
angelelle fire away! it's always a learning curve, and a very interesting one at that. Since I started learning more about myself and my 'energy' senses etc I realised I have always had abilities but just didn't really realise what the hell was going on with me. I do feel very different to other people, and I can't apologise for it - but I do feel extremely sensitive a lot of the time - but I now know better how to deal with it. PM me anything if you don't feel comfortable to speak on thread. xxx
With love and starlight in our souls dearest friends of the MN site smile xxx

EllieArroway Wed 27-Feb-13 22:09:36

How you can see something "invisible", Indigo, since the very definition of invisible is that you can't see it. That would be a discovery of world class proportions - probably earning you a Nobel prize and $1m to boot. You should write a paper. Honestly, scientists would be all over you smile

IndigoBarbie Wed 27-Feb-13 22:13:12

Its a term I use for angels, and other energies which I perceive. So therefore, invisible to the naked eye might just cover it. I see these invisible to the naked eye things in my mind's eye, just as many people do. Nothing special.

IamtheZombie Thu 28-Feb-13 11:27:44

Thanks for responding, IndigoBarbie.

You probably don't know my recent history, but the last 18 months or so have been extremely fraught: breast cancer diagnosis and treatments for me, 3 major bereavements (MIL, an uncle of mine and my godson), endless problems with the sale of MIL's house and numerous other family crises. It's hard to see a way through it all. I've pretty much exhausted my physical, mental and emotional reserves.

marissab Thu 28-Feb-13 13:18:15

Hi zombie. I was goibg to pm you but i'll just say it here. Would you like some distance healing? I can do this so you recieve it tonight when you go to bed. I can just use your name on here. No problem. I need to practice my distance healing so the offers there. And i am really interested in past lives , yes. Both in children and myself. Would love to do a regression but i don't know how you'd find someone reputable to do it.

marissab Thu 28-Feb-13 14:05:19

After googling past life regression, i have just ordered the 1st module to train to become a hypnotherapist!!! It's funny where fate leads you isn't it? I was already thinking of setting up a reiki practice so i guess this goes hand in hand with that. Very excited grin

IamtheZombie Thu 28-Feb-13 14:16:21

marissab, I would appreciate that very much. Especially as 20 minutes after I made my previous post I received a letter with the results of the smear test I had last week. It showed severe dyskaryosis and I need an urgent colposcopy. I've had abnormal smears many times before and past colposcopies haven't found anything. But, in my current frame of mind, I just can't be optimistic about this one.

angelelle Thu 28-Feb-13 16:58:52

Marissa..that is lovely. Be very interested in hearing how that goes as i too find it fascinating and if you need a guinea pig waves smile

zombie..i will send you some. healing too and so sorry for what you are going through. Have you thought of learning reki one? Or other healing form? I found being able to treat myself very comforting. Having said that I do believe we all have healing abilities and just placing your hands on your solar plexus can give some comfort and stress relief.

I can honestly say if I hadn't done reiki I wouldn't be where I am today.

indigo..I've pmd you but will probably pm you again. i feel I may have some small empathic skills but find it hard to distinguish between is it me thinking it or is it me feeling it iyswim. I definitely pick up vibes from locations where there has say been an accident but I don't trust myself when it comes to reading people

marissab Thu 28-Feb-13 20:06:35

Oh zombie i am sending you hugs and of course healing. And as you know yourself, till they've investigated, i could still be nothing. Positive thinking is a great aid to healing too. Hope your feeling beter soon x

marissab Thu 28-Feb-13 20:08:18

And don't forget, when your at your lowest, things can only get better smile sending you both healing and strength.

Pinkshaman Fri 01-Mar-13 08:22:23

Ooh lovely - a woo thread! I'm a big woo and I run workshops where we create dreamboards and talk about manifesting.

I'm an empath too and do healing, use cards, work with different energies - all sorts. I've most recently started walking a shamanic path and realised that its what I have instinctively done anyway. It's what has resonated the most with me. I work with the divine feminine a lot, but not exclusively as I feel the divine masculine is important too.

Lovely to connect with everyone. I will send some love and healing too Zombie.

angelelle Fri 01-Mar-13 10:10:29

Welcome pink. lovely to hear from another empath. I am currently trying to develop my empathic abilities but guess I don't always trust what I'm feeling. if you have time I would love to hear how you define an empath and how you work empathically

LadyBoubou Fri 01-Mar-13 20:11:39

Hi, have just found this thread. I have been told my DD is an indigo child by a "special" lady I have consulted many times over the years for readings of various sorts.
I have also read The Secret: I'm unsure about certain aspects, esp with regard to material/ monetary things. For me personally, it just doesn't sit right; to use special/ spiritual/ sacred ways for material things??? does any one else agree?

I also struggle with finding the right words in this area: it's very important to me to know exactly what something means. I'm very drawn to this but when I'm reading stuff am put off by, for eg. language that relates specifically to a religion. I am really searching to understand what "inner voice" means to other people . "Soul" is another eg. it's loaded with Christian baggage but some how belongs here more I feel.

I guess I'm just at the start of my journey.....just can't quite find the right path yet.

Oopla Fri 01-Mar-13 20:36:25

lady- I can relate to what you're saying. I think just keep reading lots and see what you're drawn to. I love reading spiritual/ religious texts because I think most of the terminology is very interchangeable. That personal feeling, inside, that knowing, can be found just about anywhere grin

Good luck on your journey

angelelle Fri 01-Mar-13 21:46:13

Lady I can also relate. when i started on my reiki path I read a lot of stuff and not all of it sat well with me. Thete were q few years when I took a step back from it all but am now starting to explore again
i guess its finding what you feel comfortable with.

my piece of exciting news is that a friend called earlier and invited me to see a medium tomorrow with her. am tres excited and will report back tomorrow

ssd Mon 04-Mar-13 18:55:41

how did you get on angelelle?

angelelle Mon 04-Mar-13 19:54:53

Well the tarot reading was scarily spot on although there was one bit that confused me and is still confusing me so a bit annoyed at myself for not clarifying while I was there . she also did a chakra reading which was very spot on too. She did get in contact with a spirit on my mums side but no one i recognised so not sure about that. The most interesting part was a timeline where I went both back and forth in time. can not hand on my heart say it wasn't my imagination but it was very cool. I saw two past lives and got a glimpse into the future . She definitely had a gift but I guess I wasn't completely bowled over iyswim.

Oopla Mon 04-Mar-13 20:30:41

What was the bit that confused you angelelle? Could she have meant it that way to leave you thinking on it? Sounds like a really great reading. How does the chakra reading work?

elfycat Mon 04-Mar-13 20:45:11

Hi Woo People.

A few years ago I started doing a hobby a year - learning about tarot cards, spells, palm reading etc (I'm pretty good at palm reading it turns out).

It was the year I did crystals that was interesting. I was supposed to go onto tasseography (tea leaf reading) the next year but I couldn't put the crystals down. So later in the spring I started the 2-year diploma in crystal healing. I'm pretty good at it too, quite intuitive. I started seeing energy auras (like a heat haze) around people in the second year. I've just qualified as a Bach Flower Practitioner and am finishing off study for a Vibrational Essences qualification. I am hoping to get out and make a quarter-moon moonstone essence tonight (in an hour or so) if the clouds stay away.

Never did get round to the tea leaves.

angelelle Mon 04-Mar-13 21:21:12

Hi oopia. in the chakra reading i picked a card for each of the seven chakras and she looked at each one so for me for example my lower chakras were quite good whereas i pulled swords for my higher chakras which mesnt i am thinking too much so we looked at ways i could work on this.

in the reading i asked to look at relationship and the central catd was spot on with regards to who i was asking about. but when i picked another card on this person a female card popped out and i immediately thought OW but the description of the card fitted me and i never got clear on who this female was. not easy to explain without going through whole reading and being personal!

Welcome elfycat. i am interested in pslm reading. Sounds fascinating all you do.

Oopla Tue 05-Mar-13 00:10:14

Ah, hope it becomes clearer for you angelelle, lots involved in her readings. I've never been to one but heard amazing things from people.

Hi elfycat, liking all your interests. Auras REALLY fascinate me. Can you see them all the time now or do they become visible after concentrated effort? I'm absolutely convinced babies can see them. You sound busy!

suburbophobe Tue 05-Mar-13 00:30:39

Oh, love it. Marking my place.

I am into Astrology, Angels, Crystals, Spirituality.

Been there, done it! It's part of my daily life.

Thank you for starting this thread. There is so much anti-woo - LOL- on MN....

angelelle Tue 05-Mar-13 08:46:20

Ha ha yes so far we have been immune from the anti wooers "makes White protective barrier around thread". Welcome allsmile

angelelle Tue 05-Mar-13 09:13:14

Actually if anyone on here is a tarot reader and wouldn't mind if I pm them re my spread I would be very grateful as then I can go into more detail. thanks.

elfycat Tue 05-Mar-13 14:13:50

Hi angelelle.

I do the white protective barrier thing too. I often add the blue marbelling of sodalite over the top - as a layer to soften the effect of people's negativity. Or Haematite which just reflects it off before it can get in.

Palm reading I learned from books. Some I found useful while others didn't work for me. It's all just a focus anyway, to get you to tune into intuition so I just disregard what doesn't gel.

Hi Oopla.

I sort of turn on the aura thing if I want to and sometimes when I don't. I have a harder time shutting it down sometimes but if I don't and I haven't set myself up properly I get headaches and fuzzy eyes. Can you imaging the looks I get from relative strangers when I say 'Oh blast, I've turned on the aura thing' while massaging my eyes. I find shoulder/neck areas are the best to start looking. Just stare past and let your sight find a middle distance. Then try to be aware of... well I think of it as a heat haze or shadow, I found it easier to do in bright sunlight to begin with. I started seeing them after a long meditation with a piece of selenite so that might be worth a try, though I may have just been ready. Worst case is you've got a pretty crystal and have sat quietly and at peace.

NotTreadingGrapes Tue 05-Mar-13 14:44:45

Can I join you please? smile

Am wooest of woo (have PMd a few times under different MN names with a few of you, and I think I did a tarot reading for one of you, but a few years back now)

Going back now to read all of your experiences!

Panadbois Wed 06-Mar-13 07:40:04

Morning all. I think I could get into tea leaves reading as in the development circle, I've been getting signs in the carpet patterns!! Weird!!

I would love a tarot card reading if anyone can help grin

CelticPixie Wed 06-Mar-13 10:22:58

Funny I've found this thread as I had a very odd experience a few weeks ago.

I go to Weight Watchers. It's held in a community centre and often gets very busy. This particular week I was sitting there chatting with some people, waiting for my number to be called for the weigh in when I noticed a woman walking through the room with what can only be described as a blurry "heat haze" type of thing behind her. It disappeared almost soon as I'd seen it but it freaked me out quite a bit. I now wonder if it was an aura that I saw?

bluebeardsbabe Wed 06-Mar-13 12:38:16

Op here. changed my namesmile

Hi Celtic

could have been an aura..or a ghost? A friend just told me that their old house was haunted. they were having a dinner party and one of the guests just stood up and sat down. When they asked her why she said'that person just needed to squeeze by' well there was no other person there.....

I am very curious about tea leaf readings Must also pick up the courage to go tp a spirtualist church one day....watch this space.

CelticPixie Wed 06-Mar-13 14:26:44

I did think maybe it was a ghost at the time, but after doing some investigating I think I may have seen this woman's aura. It was literally a split second and then it was gone. Not the first time something strange has happened to me I've got to be honest, in fact strangeness seems to follow the women in my family around. My mum has seen several "ghosts", her sister sees auras all the time and their mother used to do seances in their living room.

elfycat Wed 06-Mar-13 14:40:56

If it seemed to be around her it could be an aura. I only see them for a few inches but they do go out for a way. If it seemed to be a blurry separate shape then either a ghost or one of her spiritual guides? Go with your instinct and first impression as that's what it's all about.

elfycat Wed 06-Mar-13 14:43:39

LOL x-post after DD1 bashed her hand and DH called between writing and posting!

My sisters are also sensitive to things woo. Apparently we get it from DF who is as non-woo as you like but then suddenly comes out with odd experiences/hunches.

bluebeardsbabe Wed 06-Mar-13 15:04:12

My df (now passed away ) was the same. totally non woo but sometimes came up with a gem like a near death experience or dreaming about his own mothers passing

Panadbois Wed 06-Mar-13 16:12:28

Yep, my DF is like that. Non woo to the core, but has seen an UFO grin

Oopla Wed 06-Mar-13 17:02:58

I tried really hard (too hard prob!) to see auras after I read celestial prophecy grin

Ok... Every time I've tried to discuss this with non woo people they look at me like I've two heads. Can I ask has anyone ever experienced a strange sensation around the third eye area? I do very often, doesn't freak me out so much anymore but I'd love o know more about it. I get a sense that its related to intuition in some way as generally something will happen that I remember later.

(Waits for the silence) grin

Loving all the woo!

Panadbois Wed 06-Mar-13 18:21:14

My third eye area tightens and tingles during meditation Oopia. The most noticeable experience was during a Reiki treatment with crystals.
Now that was amazing!

Oopla Wed 06-Mar-13 18:30:22

Omg pandabois am not alone!

It's quite nice isn't it smile

Oopla Wed 06-Mar-13 18:31:28

Panadbois rather -sorry

Panadbois Wed 06-Mar-13 18:54:28

'They' say its because the eye is opening or expanding grin

elfycat Wed 06-Mar-13 19:18:45

I tend to get a feeling at the top of my head if I'm meditating or channeling energy for a crystal treatment, it's more like an opening sensation and a kind of pressure. The third eye spot is where I get the headaches if I'm looking at energy/auras and forget to stop (and haven't protected myself like I should)

IndigoBarbie Wed 06-Mar-13 21:54:26

hey anyone up for a remote energy healing session on sunday night? if yes, please PM me and just say yes - it's at 9.30pm til 10pm and if you can get a wee breather space to yourself, then all you have to do is lie there and chillax smile Sorry it's quick, but will re read rest of thread and come back laters x

marissab Thu 07-Mar-13 11:47:15

Indigo i need this! Got whiplash from a shunt car accident yesterday. Can't pm you on phone. Will try remember to do it tonight x

IndigoBarbie Thu 07-Mar-13 21:14:44

Marissa, no probs I will add you in, all you need to do is find quiet time to receive and try not to have any expectations, I will be doing this on Sunday night at half past 9. lots of love xx

NotTreadingGrapes Fri 08-Mar-13 09:39:04

I would very much like to take part smile

IndigoBarbie Sat 09-Mar-13 00:15:57

I will try. would love to take part but can't guarantee that dd won't be crying or wanting a feed at that time.

on another note, indigo. I would be very interested to find out more how you hear/feel/sense things. I am genuinely very interested in how people receive their information...maybe that's a wooly question ..lol

bluebeardsbabe Sat 09-Mar-13 11:48:02

bluebeardsbabe Sat 09-Mar-13 15:23:33

Ooh just been into a woo shop. The woo shop where I live shut down but there is one near my sister who is totally non woo so we never go in but I'm puttering around on my own here today.

love the smell of incence and angel music. very soothing. ended up getting two tarot decks. one for me and one for a friend. always think the best decks are the ones you get given. Also got some sage for smudging.

NotTreadingGrapes Sat 09-Mar-13 16:37:32

Which decks did you get? I always use Sacred Rose, having been gifted a deck years ago, which I threw out in a fit of trying-not-to-be-woo grin but then bought another deck.

bluebeardsbabe Sat 09-Mar-13 17:43:29

I have quite a few decks now, the first couple of ones I got gifted, got my first ones more than ten years ago. I think my first one was Voyager Tarot by a chap called James Wanless, he is very cool and the cards are lovely. My lovely friend then got me a reading with him...he lives out in the Californian desert. It was all very cool and very woo...cant remember much about the reading. He isnt psychic as such, it is more a journey with the cards. (Incidently the same friend paid for us to go and see Sylvia Brown and John Edward live...it was quite odd as it was just after 9/11...literally a month or so and I remember someone coming through who had died in one of the towers...anyhoot going off track here).

So since then I have amassed quite a few varieties of cards but at the moment I am quite into Doreen Virtues angel cards and got one of her angel decks for myself. For my friend I got a deck to help you develop your psychic abilities as she is psychic (predicted my pregnancy amongst other things and it was totally not expected IYSWIM).

When I read for friends I tend to stick to two decks and that is the voyager taror and Tatianas fortune cards. These are the cards that speak to me and I feel comfortable with but when I dabble in my own readings I tend to use a variety...the cards just purchased were about love and relationships.

Watch this space smile

Will now check out amazon for the sacred rose deck smile As if I need another one!

I also had a bout of chucking out things in an attempt to not be so woo. I bought a ton of woo books after I did Reiki level 1, then had some weird experiences and decided I wasnt ready to be woo so gave loads of books to the charity shop. I now am more selective on what woo I invite into my lifesmile

marissab Sat 09-Mar-13 21:20:51

Had a weird happening in bed last night. My 2 year old had snuck in between me and oh and we were all fast asleep. I had a bad nightmare but i couldn't wake up. Then out of the blue my 2 year old started crying loudly and it woke me up. This happened twice during the night. It's as if she knew i was stuck and tge dream was very frughtening. Could say itwas a coincidence but it happened twice! We obviously have a very strong bond. smile

Ledkr Sat 09-Mar-13 21:43:14

Can I sign up for the healing please? I'm having all sorts if health problems here non life threatening thank goodnes but affecting my life none the less.

IndigoBarbie Sun 10-Mar-13 15:24:55

no probs, anyone who indicates their wish to be included before 9pm today I will add in. The session will start at 9pm, and last for half an hour.

Oopla Sun 10-Mar-13 15:50:18

Could I join too please indigo? I don't know if I need to be specific but I could really do with some help in my 1st and 2nd chakra areas. Thank you for taking your time to help others smile

IamtheZombie Sun 10-Mar-13 16:33:23

Sorry, IndigoBarbie, but could you please just confirm the time? You said 9.30 - 10.00 earlier in the thread, but your most recent post says it will start at 9.00.

IndigoBarbie Sun 10-Mar-13 19:45:15

HI, sorry for that confusion. I just meant I would check back here up until 9pm, this will let me read those who would like to be included. That way I can start at 9.30-10.00 smile

joozy Sun 10-Mar-13 19:53:08

Funnily enough, I've been thinking about the law of attraction recently. It's one of those things that works brilliantly, yet I sometimes let it slip by and then wonder why! I wrote my first post a few days ago about a couple of mothers being really unpleasant to me at my DD's Pre School and am going to give it a try to see if I can turn things around.

IndigoBarbie Sun 10-Mar-13 22:27:07

Hi, sorry to thread hijack, I'm all done with the remote session x

marissab Mon 11-Mar-13 11:26:47

Thanks indigo. I actually meant to return the favour to you but fell asleep! Had a very deep sleep and my injury is not as painful today so far.

NotTreadingGrapes Mon 11-Mar-13 13:31:54

Oopla Mon 11-Mar-13 13:58:25

bluebeardsbabe Mon 11-Mar-13 14:26:14

Thank you indigo xx

bluebeardsbabe Mon 11-Mar-13 14:29:28

Joozy. I know it does work when you really put your mind to it. I must start doing it again too. not that hard really . just wish it, send it into the universe and forget it smile

IndigoBarbie Mon 11-Mar-13 22:22:28

Hiya, glad and all most welcome smile If anyone cares to share how they progress during the week I'll be happy to hear any points of view, but only if you feel up to it smile

Joozy, I like to call in an angel to ask me to change my perception of situations when times are challenging, it really helps smile Then you can back it up with such affirmations along the lines of 'all my relationships are harmonious' or similar. Whatever feels like the right vibe for you.

Bluebeardie- The less I try, the more it happens. Through time I can honestly say I have learnt that the first thought to cross my mind with regard whatever situation is always the correct one. The seeing thing, occurs during eyes open or eyes closed time. Eyes closed I seem to be able to see 'energies' loved ones, or conveyed images from angels/loved ones etc more clearly. I can determine things with my eyes open, but sometimes the physical world gets in the way. I do see sparkle lights and hazes etc too. Recently had to own up to the optician about all these 'lights' I see, and even though she kindof laughed she assured me my eyes were fine. Phew. I can also hear the voices of passed loved ones, although sometimes they sound far away - its like a telepathic link, but its a vibration of them. Sometimes I have heard very clearly passed loved ones and they speak exactly like they did when alive, and in all honesty this is another wonderful experience as the vibration of being able to hear their voice again is just indescribable. More recently I've been hiding away from my 'psychic'ness, I've had lots of stuff going on, but I am always learning, and I do my best work remotely. I don't know why, but the less I know about something or someone is always when I know and trust what I get is real. To further my confidence at points in my life previously, I asked online for people to volunteer to let me 'read' them, and this actually helped me a great deal. I learned a lot, and I also learned that everything I was being shown, or felt I knew, didn't always occur in the nearest future- sometimes it happened months or up to a year later. This is huge validation for me. I sometimes scare myself, but if I can help people, then I should be doing it more. Sorry it's a bit long, I could talk for hours but gotta catch the Zzzzs xxxxx

joozy Tue 12-Mar-13 12:37:56

Thanks Indigo and BlueBeardsBabe, I agree - and things happen for a reason. Just hard to see when you're in the thick of it x

NotTreadingGrapes Tue 12-Mar-13 13:27:02

That's amazing Indigo! smile

marissab Tue 12-Mar-13 14:31:02

Am loving this thread. My main interest at the mo is researching indigo/ crystal children. It's fascinating. I may have to dig out my tarot cards now after reading on here. Npt read them for years. I used to love runes aswell.

OhWesternWind Tue 12-Mar-13 15:48:32

Indigo if you're ever looking for volunteers for remote readings, would you let me know please as I'd be there with my hand up? I'm feeling a bit unsettled in my life at the moment for several reasons and could really do with some insight and guidance.

NotTreadingGrapes Tue 12-Mar-13 16:18:04

Me too! (in line for a remote reading!)

Oopla Tue 12-Mar-13 17:52:34

Got the tarot cards out the other night for the first time in a long while. Am holding you all indirectly responsible grin

elfycat Tue 12-Mar-13 20:44:47

I'm going to have to dust off the palm reading and dig out the cards.

And I was trying so hard to 'just' be a crystal healer without all the other woo! wink

bluebeardsbabe Wed 13-Mar-13 09:28:46

Elfy..love palmreading. meeting a friend for lunch tomorrow who does it so might get her to take a peek although from the little I know i can't see a new man appearingsad

Glad to see the non woo people sticking to the medium bashing thread. lol. I have yet to find one where I think yes, beyond a shadow of a doubt but fortunately I have had enough of my own experiences to know there is more to heaven and earth.....Horatio.

bluebeardsbabe Wed 13-Mar-13 09:29:56

Nottreadinggrapes. Did you say you had found two good wedbased mediums? Can you pm me???

NC78 Wed 13-Mar-13 14:44:26

I have been learning the tarot.

Do you need a psychic gift to read them or is it all in the cards?

elfycat Wed 13-Mar-13 14:57:15

NC78 anyone can all read them. The order the cards are selected in is not random so you can do it out of a book and it will be true. I always say the universe is happy to give hints to people who want to look.

That wanting to look opens up your intuition. Trusting your intuition is where you get the gifted people, the ones who can tune in and link the hints.

That's my take.

NotTreadingGrapes Wed 13-Mar-13 17:12:04

Have PMd you Bluebeard!

marissab Fri 15-Mar-13 12:34:09

Anyone been watching this morning. Lots of ghosty pics and woo isms on there this morning.

i am interested in numerology. A few years back i did a reading for a friend based on numbers but i do remember it taking s long time

Twosugarsplease Sun 17-Mar-13 21:11:26

Hello everyone! My first time on this section.
What a great thread.
I have started a thread of my own before, but the intrusion and rudeness of some was really off putting, I would just like to air an experience, if anyone would be so kind give me an explanation or really suppose I'm hoping you can confirm my belief I was visited by my late dad, in dreams..
Ok.. So we all dream, some funny, some just odd and crazy, I can dream about anything, as we all do, people, family..
I can dream about my dad and wake and remember and forget.
But in the 1 yes he has gone I have had 6 ( specific, I know )
The first was the night of his funeral, he was sat in a chair, my sis and I in his home sorting his belongings, and I turned to see him sat there, I was overcome with surprise and bent down to hug him, I could feel every bone in his shoulder, back, the weight if his head against mine, it was THE most amazing experience, when (in my dream) I called for my sis to say 'dads here' he went before she entred the room.
I woke to feel sooo comforted.
I've since had 5 more similar (visits) I call them, he never speaks, or makes eye contact, just a touch, holds my hand or rests it on me.
They really are very different , I feel to a dream.
Can anyone explain this, I have to add, although I love him dearly, I am not still grieving.

Twosugarsplease Sun 17-Mar-13 21:13:56

Spell check in the 11 years he's been gone

IndigoBarbie Sun 17-Mar-13 22:46:59

Two sugars, I have no doubt that this is how your Dad is able to communicate with you, and how beautiful too. I'm sure you didn't need anyone to validate this for you smile isn't it amazing to be able to feel that touch sensation? Xxxx with love x

Twosugarsplease Sun 17-Mar-13 23:11:35

indigo of all the posters to answer ! You have been the ine who inspired me to post !
Yes I do feel my dad has connected with me, in my dreams, state of relax and recipience, just wanted to share it to get some kind of response, which I got, thankyou.
He passed suddenly, I also know when he's not particularly happy or in agreement of how I live my life, choices etc
Since his passing I'm now divorced, have a new partner, his 2 grandsons ( now teens) now have a new brother , (our little ds)
I left my hometown and my family, was hard, is hard, moods up and down, PMD etc feeling insecure, understandable I suppose uprooting myself and 2 children 70 miles away, and starting a new life, suppose u feel a bit guilty on my sis who is back home with dm and I'm constantly reminded.

Twosugarsplease Sun 17-Mar-13 23:18:11

I apologise for my tiny keypad and spell checks ! blush

bluebeardsbabe Mon 18-Mar-13 18:41:01

Two sugars. i had a very similar dream about my dad who passed two years ago. he was sitting in a chair and i bent down to hug him and the whole room lit up. i have had around 6 dreams where i really felt he was visiting me and telling me he is ok. its lovely isn't itsmile

Oh and never worry that he is judging your life. they see things very differently from us. they just want us to be happy . having said that i have been through a shit time the past year so wish he'd come a bit more often. lol

and don't worry about typos .i type on a small pho.phone while bf dd!!

Twosugarsplease Mon 18-Mar-13 19:41:30

Do you Bluebeard! I also notice how you to said a specific number of times this has happened, it's because they really are something very special and never forgotten, as the ''usual' dream is.
I could even feel the materiel of the sweater he was wearing, he never speaks though, but at the time there is never any need for words.
I go to bed most nights hoping for a 'visit'
It's lovely, and I lay in bed when I wake up going over and over it smile

IndigoBarbie Mon 18-Mar-13 19:44:57

Twosugars, thank you so much for your kindness smile
I think that what bluebeards has said (lovely experiences too) is right about your Dad being not so happy with your life, is correct. What I mean, is that, when we return back to our non-physical states, we just want is best for those who are still on earth. We are restored to a wholeness, not only in physical but all other aspects and this allows us to see without judging. He may very well have a point of view - but probably only wants the best for you. The best for you though, is how you discern what you want from your life, and if moving away and making any/all changes will achieve your happiness, then more power to you. It's all about being happy, and following your own heart. You don't want to get to the end of your life thinking, oh well - at least I did what xyz wanted me to. You want to know you did for yourself, what you could, while you could. Meanwhile, receiving visitations from passed loved ones, just adds to the whole life experience xxxx

potionmaker Mon 18-Mar-13 20:30:56

Hi everyone! waves
Just found this thread - how lovely to see some proper woo on MN! grin

I barely know where to start but twosugars post really resonated with me. I've had a number of dreams in which loved ones have come to visit, both of my grandfathers appeared in dreams shortly after they died and as you say, they weren't like 'normal' dreams. In one my Grandad was with us in the funeral car, and I asked him if he could hear me when I talk to him in my head. 'Of course,' he replied, 'and if you are still and quiet, you can hear me too.' These dreams don't happen often but always stay with me vividly, they feel like a real blessing.

I've been called a little witch by my parents since I was a small child and could change the weather! (Sounds bonkers I know but my parents, both totally non-woo, still confirm it!) They bought me a Tarot set when I was 12 and from the word go I could read them, I guess some of this is what you describe as being an empath, I get very strong hunches and intuitive flashes of information about people and its usually bang on. I don't read the cards often now (my 'normal life is so non-woo I sometimes forget who I really am!) but I did a coupe of readings for friends a weeklr so ago and it felt like getting back into my 'real' skin IYKWIM? I miss it!

I've also trodden the Reiki path and became a Reiki master about 8 years ago. Since then I've done some other training with psychic / mediumship teachers including Gordon Smith, and attended one Spiritualist meeting but haven't found a group in RL that I feel comfortable with. I'd love to have these kinds of chats in RL!

Am also a big believer in law of attraction etc and very grateful for this thread reminding me to use it.

Really interested in the toddlers / past life thing too. No experience of that myself but when I was pregnant with both my DCs I knew who they were, if that makes sense, and i dreamed of them as the people they had been in my / our previous lives.

I've had so many woo experiences I could go on all night, but I won't grin.

Lovely to meet you all!

Shakey1500 Mon 18-Mar-13 20:35:47

A lady I just did a play with said she had the gift and practised it. I asked her if she could reach my Dad and ask him if he was proud of me.

The next day she said all evening she could hear a voice saying "Why wouldn't I be?"

I thought it odd <shrug>

Twosugarsplease Mon 18-Mar-13 20:38:36

Ooh I'd love to hear some of your experiences potionmaker

potionmaker Mon 18-Mar-13 20:55:11

Hi twosugars grin
Well, related to your dreams etc, the first 'visit' dream I had was from my other grandfather who died when I was 16. A few weeks later I dreamt that I was in a marble hallway (getting goosebumps as I'm typing this!) and was led to the bottom of a flight of white marble steps that wound upwards - I couldn't see the top, just a bright light. My grandpa came down the steps from the light, and I knew instinctively that he didn't have long to talk and that this was a huge effort for him. He told me to look after my mum and grandmother, and then he 'put' into my head a vision of golden stars twinkling in a black sky. He said 'even in the darkest darkness there is always light' and then he faded away. It's always stayed with me, and when life is tough I 'hear' his words and see that vision again and look for the golden sparks of light that are the good bits of fortune in my life, if that makes sense? It was amazing.

Another wonderful healing experience I had was having an acupuncture session when I was pregnant. The acupuncture released a huge knot of grief in my back and I found myself sobbing (weirdly it was related to my grandpa and his death - hadn't made that connection before tonight, ooh I do love a coincidence grin) Afterwards I became very calm and a chant of words went round and round my head:

Those things that matter will be resolved. Those that do not, will fall away.

Again, when I am in a muddle or anxious or obsessing about things, these words ring through my head and I feel reassured.

One thing that someone said upthread that I think is really important about all of this is remembering to be grateful. I am incredibly blessed (she said touching wood) but I find that things always go better for me when I remember to say thank you to the powers that be. smile

Oopla Mon 18-Mar-13 21:04:28

Potionmaker your post gave me the goosebumps too. What an amazing experience seeing your grandad. The golden stars sound just blissful.

<warm glow> thanks for sharing that

VitoCorleone Mon 18-Mar-13 21:07:08

Ive only read the first couple of pages so need to catch up, but just want to share a couple of things that are a bit woo (i think)

First, a few years ago i read about cosmic ordering and thought id try it, at the time i had a MASSIVE crush on a guy that used to come into the restaurant i worked in, so deciding to be a bit cheeky i asked for love and discribed my 'ideal man' so i discribed this guy, short but bit taller than me, dark curly hair, green eyes and lovely smile.

A few months later i actually got the guys number and we arranged a date, but he changed his mind last minute and cancelled. He never came in the restaurant again. I thought cosmic ordering was a load of baloney and forgot about it.

About 3 years later i changed jobs and met somebody i really liked, we got together and can you guess? He is short but slightly taller than me, has green eyes and a gorgeous smile and although he keeps his hair short once it grows a bit its really curly! I remember the day he told me that his hair is naturally very curly and at that point i remembered the cosmic order and couldnt believe it! We've been together 5 and a half years now

Anyway, i got pregnant with our first child in 2007 and was worried that i would pass on a genetic condition i have to our baby, so i asked the universe for a healthy baby. Unfortunatly i was already 5 months pregnant by this point and the condition had already been passed on to DS1.

When i got pregnant again in 2011 i was told that the gene mutation i have is a 'dominant' something or other, so basically any children i have will more than likely inherit it. I was devestated, but a part of me also felt really positive for some reason.

And in 2012 i gave birth to DS2 who has not inherited my condition, dispite odds being really high. And i often wonder if, because i done the cosmic ordering too late in my first pregnancy, the universe was still listening and passed it over to my next pregnancy.

So, i dont know if them 2 stories are just coincidence or if i sound a bit bonkers, but part of me thinks that, cosmic ordering really can work. And it fascinates me.

VitoCorleone Mon 18-Mar-13 21:07:56

Wow that was long, sorry!

potionmaker Mon 18-Mar-13 21:08:41

It was amazing oopla, I feel very lucky to have had experiences like that.

Sometimes it's easy to forget the magic in life isn't it when you're herding children round Tesco and juggling a million things - now I stop to think about it there's been so much magic in my life, I need to remember to welcome it in and notice it more often! This thread is a great nudge in the ribs from the Gods, I think...!

potionmaker Mon 18-Mar-13 21:12:46

Not bonkers at all vito grin I agree with you, sometimes we don't get what we ask for in the timeframe that we want or expect but just because we've forgotten about it doesn't mean the universe has!

I dreamt of my DH for about 2 years before I met him. I the dreams I would be with this man who I knew was right for me, but when I woke up I could never remember his name or what he looked like, just the 'rightness' of the feeling I had being with him. When we met it was like a thunderbolt, and when he kissed me I wanted to shout out 'oh god its's YOU!!' because I recognised that feeling of rightness. Just as well I didn't though becaus DH is as non-woo as it is possible to be grin. The universe clearly has a sense of humour!

bluebeardsbabe Mon 18-Mar-13 21:30:37

Gosh, so many things I want to address here but just to go back to the dream thing. I can always tell the difference between dreams where my dad 'visits' and dreams where he just appears randomly (as you would expect if you had lived with someone your whole lifesmile). The visit dreams have a completely different feel, he rarely speaks but sometimes touches me like holding my hand and I feel really good when I wake up.

Potion, that is a lovely story about your DH, sigh, wish that would happen to me smile

Twosugarsplease Mon 18-Mar-13 21:31:55

potionmaker that's lovely.

Twosugarsplease Mon 18-Mar-13 21:47:34

bluebeard that's exactly it, you can just tell can't you.
I feel so lucky to have had them, and I know he will 'visit' again smile

potionmaker Mon 18-Mar-13 22:16:57

Thanks bluebeard grin it was quite bizarre, and classically enough the dreams of the-man-who-was-DH were during a time when I was involved with a string of wrong'uns and no-goods! After a while I decided that enough was enough, I was better off single than wasting my time on people who didn't treat me well, so swore off men for a summer. At the end of that summer, lo and behold, just as I was properly enjoying being single, there he was. Bam! The things you want always arrive when you let go of the 'wanting', don't they? hmm grin

NotTreadingGrapes Wed 20-Mar-13 11:59:19

potionmaker, that's wonderful!

I can add my experience.... a long time ago, when I was a student, I went abroad for a year....after a few weeks of hating it I walked into a bar one night, and saw my soulmate. I looked at him and thought "you are the reason I am on this planet". We eventually got together (for a while smile) and he said that when I walked in that night he nearly dropped the glass he was holding.

A few months later (and I've talked about this before on coincidences threads) my friend came to visit. In the bar where he worked and we had met there was a huge painting on the wall, with some real people (including him) and some unreal people dotted around to make up the numbers. We were talking about the painting with the landlord and my friend said, "but when was this painting done?" The answer was about a year before I arrived there. My friend said "but that's Grapes standing next to him". And it was. And I was. On this painting, next to my boy, and very recognisably him, is a woman the spitting image of me.

I haven't seen him for many years, but for many years I've had dreams, utterly weird ones about me being with someone who has a physical disability. I've had these dreams for about 20 yrs. Last summer I had contact with a mutual friend who told me that my boy now has a degenerative spinal condition which means he has some mobility problems. I just wanted to say "I knew that already" because I felt I did.

In other news my copy of The Secret arrived yesterday smile

BLOO3Z Wed 20-Mar-13 12:36:48

Great thread, I love the secret and power of attraction. I have used the secret to move sell and move house and a bit of help from a pagan friend too, as I needed a bit of guidance with my cyrstals.

Have drummed being positve ito my kids that they pull me up now if I start on the negativity slide.

Have been to a clairvoiant with my mum and was impressed..

I have done Reiki too but got quite disheartened by how much people where charging to train to reach the higher levels, it just did not seem right somehow, so not practising but beleive/know it works.

Not read Magic book yet so off to search for that now.

potionmaker Wed 20-Mar-13 16:21:58

Grapes that gave me goosebumps! grin

bluebeardsbabe Wed 20-Mar-13 18:56:25

Grapes me too!!!

Blue i know what you mean re reiki. I was lucky that my teachers all took a very reasonable amount, and were very honest but when i read about people doing distance attunements I'm like what!!!

Oh and the magic is great smile

Pinkshaman Thu 21-Mar-13 08:49:09

Did anyone do anything yesterday for the Equinox?

Dp and I cleaned and smudged the house, then went to our local sacred site to clear our energies. There are some fabulous yew trees that we work with. And then in the evening went to an Oestre ceremony where we connected with the Goddess Artha.

I really felt the fire energy coming in and we did a lovely meditation where I planted seeds for the things I am manifesting.

I'm really feeling a big shift in energies and from what I've read and felt, we have all been held in a space in the past couple of months where stuff from the past seems to have come up to heal. It's felt like wading through treacle to me. But from yesterday things have changed and there's a rush of manifestjng energy around. My guidance has been to really focus on your goals and dreams to make the most of it.

Hope that may help someone!

potionmaker Thu 21-Mar-13 13:33:08

pink I always celebrate on the 21st, am I wrong?

Pinkshaman Thu 21-Mar-13 13:56:58

I didn't really take much notice of the actual date - it was the day I had been invited to the ceremony and my facebook was full of Equinox greetings and pictures yesterday. I think the day can change, it's not always the 21st and I know that the actual time varies each year.

Oopla Thu 21-Mar-13 14:45:38

Our wall calendar said spring begins yesterday so I took that as the equinox. Didn't do anything special but would like to in the future. Your day sounded lovely pink.

NC78 Thu 21-Mar-13 15:11:09

Who is the goddess Artha?

Catching up coz been on mu hols this week but i always celebrate on the 21st coz it's my birthday grin i am a lonely solitary pagan. Jealous of all of you who go to group celebrations. Wish i knew of some near me.

Oopla Fri 22-Mar-13 12:46:26

Hope you had a nice holiday marrisa, good to have you back smile happy birthday for the 21st

marissab Fri 22-Mar-13 18:55:30

Ok i'm gonna tell about some woo things happening to me lately. I'd love people to talk to me about past life experiences. I am 34 so no kid but i am drawn more and more to a particular time in british history. Specifically when anglo saxons and vikings were here. So the end of the dark ages. I have recently done a short corse on AS (anglo saxons) because of this interest but it's deeper than just learning facts about the period. It's more like a deep knowledge within. Like it's part of me. I have had a tune in my head for around 8 years that i can't get out. I have no idea where this tune cane from. I've never heard it in real life. It just popped in my head. It sounds distinctly like AS/ viking music and sounds as if it would be played on a whistle/flute, which were popular back then. I also cannot read tarot but reading runes i find extremely easy. Like instinctual almost. Another strange experience i had was i would meditate when i was younger and try to connect with spirit guides. I was often drawn to visualise a cave with an old hermit in it. He would tell me foreign words. I would finish off then go look up the words. They were often latin! I don't know any latin! Anyone else had experiences like this?

Twosugarsplease Fri 22-Mar-13 20:36:37

I often wonder if anyone else can see faces when they have their eyes closed and perhaps just about to go to sleep, or very relaxed even?
I've never asked anyone this before.
I sometimes do, faces of complete strangers, some actually scare me, only for a second or two, and they never look really happy either.
Is this just my imagination whilst relaxed?

Twosugarsplease Fri 22-Mar-13 20:41:50

That was really interesting marrissa
I would also love to hear about past life or regression.
I can remember Phil scholfield got regressed a few years ago on this morning, he was quite disturbed by it, the story was sad.

Oopla Fri 22-Mar-13 22:33:10

Hi marissa, I think it's good to follow your interests, what you need will find you and all. I don't really know about past lives but the period is fascinating. I wonder have you read the Earths children series? I'm not exactly sure the period is spot on but do check it out, the detail is amazing.

Two sugars, I do. There are loads of theories online about what they are but the general term I think is hypnagogic imagery, some people hear sounds or voices too confused have you always seen them or is it a recent thing?

marissab Sat 23-Mar-13 08:03:09

Oopla, thanks. I'll look for those books. I love reading. Twosugars, it's never happened to me except once. I woke up from what i thought was a nightmare and everytime i closed my eyes, i could see a mans face. It wouldn't go away and scared me to death!

Twosugarsplease Sat 23-Mar-13 08:21:32

Yes I have always had this for as long as I can remember, to see such vivid faces, so clear and detailed, I've always found so strange, complete strangers aswell.
It's like my mind has an eye, and can happen anytime I'm in bed and ready to go to sleep, as long as I'm not thinking of anything else and relaxed, thing is I don't relax to see this on purpose, the images just flash in front of me, quite close up, and it's like WTH ! It isn't scary at all, I'm just left confused I remember one image of a lady, in pain, it wasn't nice, how can my imagination run away like this ?

bluebeardsbabe Sat 23-Mar-13 17:34:18

Not read the last posts so forgive me if I x post...I will leave reading when I put dd to bed tonightsmile

But pinkshaman mercury retrograde just ended hence a lot of people having recently felt quite discombobulated I think.

Marissa love runes. find them very accurate.

right dd crying, back later!!

NotTreadingGrapes Sat 23-Mar-13 18:16:04

Hello all, I am trying really hard with the LOA stuff! Thinking positive and have a rose quartz angel that a white witch who did some spellwork for me gave me that I have decided will be my "gratitude stone".

Prob a massive coincidence but on Thursday I was saying "this lesson will be cancelled" because I really wanted it to be, and lo and behold it was (and this is someone who never cancels!) Today I found out that I have saved about £1,000 expenditure on a catering thing because dp's sister has volunteered to do it all for us for £200 and I've been paid unexpectedly early for some teaching! <very grateful rub of gratitude stone> grin

I would also love to get into more pagan stuff but am in a very non pagan place (unlike the Waterboys grin) (ie Italy!) where all "that sort of thing" is very much frowned upon so I have to do my wee rituals in private.

I'm going to space clear the house over the next week, because the energies are well and truly clogged at the moment!

Oopla Sat 23-Mar-13 19:20:45

Twosugarsplease- am fascinated with this subject at the minute grin going to say that personally I believe it's linked to clairvoyance on some wave length.

IndigoBarbie Sat 23-Mar-13 21:38:55

Sorry I've been out of touch n stuff. Twosugars, deffo think you have the third eye abilities winding on there.

bluebeardsbabe Sat 23-Mar-13 22:54:59

Nottreadinggrapes. Last September I had a similar experience. Asked the universe for some money and it literally started to fall into my lap from unexpected sources and is still coming. not massive amounts but always enough to keep me going. I have had some quite powerful loa experiences so may start a seperate thread on this at some point.

I guess I am lucky as I tend to find myself surrounded by woo people . Except for my sister and bil. Lovely people but totally unwoo. Infact not sure how we even come from the same family, lol.

bluebeardsbabe Sat 23-Mar-13 22:56:58

Twosugars Deffo sounds a bit clairvoyant to me. Have you thought about joining a development circle? It might be the start of something smile

Twosugarsplease Sun 24-Mar-13 13:00:57

I googled it, and all seems to be explained, but the mind must be so powerful to see images like that, colours, shapes etc I understand, but real people, faces and emotions, it baffles me.
indigo do you really think so ? I might take more note in future.
bluebeard I've never thought it was anything worth taking further to be honest. It very strange though.

Twosugarsplease Sun 24-Mar-13 13:18:59

Can I just ask those of you who ask for help from the universe, angels etc, how I could too ?
I often have chats in my head with my late dad, to ask him for guidance, help and so on, or just updating him on family news smileI was once given reiki, and the lady was also in touch with angels, she showed me how to relax and ask for guidance, but when I'm in bed and tired I can't relax with my feet and hands flat down, as instructed, and by the time I have gone through trying to relax to be able to send my thoughts, I've fallen asleep.
We find out on Tuesday if my dh has cancer or not, and I would really like to send some thoughts.

IndigoBarbie Sun 24-Mar-13 15:53:32

I realised the full potential of my 'gift's' when people just used to pop into my head. It wasn't til a while after that, that I found out that one of those people was in fact dead, and I must have been thinking about him near to when he actually transitioned. I'd have conversations in my mind with them, and not really put two and two together. But then one day, I did. To see the colours and feel the emotions etc isn't a superhuman thing - it's a completely natural thing, but we are taught that its somehow 'wooo' and our sense of perceptions shut down. For example when you think about people, and then they phone - it's just our energies decoding theirs. Ok, not the best explanation. I have been on my journey for a number of years now, and it's finally sinking in that I am really here on earth to do some work of this nature. If you feel like you would want to explore it, then maybe joining a wee circle is something you could do? I've been lucky whereby I tread the reiki path, and things have unfolded in their own time for me.

IndigoBarbie Sun 24-Mar-13 15:55:09

PS, it's your intention behind your thought when you send it out to the universe that is the important part. All you need to do is say thanks for those extra angels and loved ones who would surround your situation, and all good wishes will help. Thinking of you all xx

marissab Sun 24-Mar-13 17:37:29

Twosugars, i am paganso i often sit and talk to the moon out of my window. I see her as a wise mother figure i can go to with my priblems. I think it doesn't have to be angels. It can be a dead reletive instead. Whats important is you sending out your thoughts in to the cosmos. Do it in whatever way resonates with you.

suburbophobe Sun 24-Mar-13 21:09:24

Great to have seen this come up in Active Conversations.

I have reiki 1 but have yet to do 2. I do Bach Flower Remedies but again, not for a while. Hope to get back into it.

Interesting dream posts. I've had premonition dreams but of course I didn't know that at the time. One strange thing is that when I was pregnant I saw my son in a dream and shocked me 2 years down the line when he looked exactly like in the dream!
Also dreamt about a building being demolished, now I'm living in that spot (where they built housing).

My dad died two years ago and I've met him twice in meditation. It's amazing. Was at an Atlantean Healing course I did.

Have tarot (Rider White ? set) but hardly ever use them, do use a lot of the Doreen Virtue cards, have several sets.

I've done regression and had some interesting sessions! Check out Brian Weiss, I have his book with the CD so I can do it in the comfort of my own home. He has a website and is on Youtube too.

In fact lots of interesting woo stuff on Youtube!

Pity the healing isn't happening tonight. I totally missed the last one.

Oh yes, a friend of mine told me her 5 year-old son said to his dad "Do you remember when I used to take care of you?" wink

suburbophobe Sun 24-Mar-13 21:12:17
Oopla Sun 24-Mar-13 21:19:40

Suberb- my 3 yr old son often says 'when I was big like you' as in his mind set is totally that he was an adult then transformed into a child. I often struggle to correct him on it cause well you never know!

Lovely that you saw you son in dream life first. I bet it was an awesome moment when you saw him and recognised his little face smile

suburbophobe Sun 24-Mar-13 22:45:44

Oopla, I actually saw him from the back, but it was him as a 2-year-old. The hair (dark brown ringlets) was exactly the same, and the body too (height, build, etc.).

How sweet about your son. Yes, I believe small children are much more in touch with that. As they grow older most of them shut it down....

IndigoBarbie Mon 25-Mar-13 07:03:33

Love it! Ps for anyone who may be interested I do free remote 'healing' sessions randomly (when ds in bed) on Sunday nights and I can out my Facebook page if that appeals to anyone?

Twosugarsplease Mon 25-Mar-13 07:14:15

I would have indigo but only just read your post this morning.

NotTreadingGrapes Mon 25-Mar-13 12:16:35

I would love to Indigo!

IndigoBarbie Tue 26-Mar-13 21:59:53

oops did I kill another thread?? Hehhe
How is everyone doing? Will we try a little experiment?

NotTreadingGrapes Wed 27-Mar-13 06:18:25

I'm here! smile and up for an experiment!

I got a phonecall yesterday to tell me I am about to be paid for the project I did last year! <thanks universe, rubs stones, kisses The Secret, does a little dance>

I'm also rereading Creating Sacred Space after reading The Secret because I realised a lot of what is said in The Secret is v similar to space clearing traditions which I really like and think really really work.

IndigoBarbie Wed 27-Mar-13 06:59:48

Morning smile that's great news smile smile
I have a few ideas based on things I do, was gonna share and see if anyone would try and see how you get on?
The first suggestion is to put a request out (probably to your angels/all encompassing universe power of whatever is believed in) and command or state at the start of your day or whenever mentally or out loud! 'centre my words in love'.
Many are unaware of just how exactly powerful words are when creating energy. This has been a very powerful shifting tool for me, and it really allows your words to be heard and accepted in a very good vibe.
Try it in different situations and see what flows? Back laters xx

marissab Wed 27-Mar-13 13:54:35

Like it indigo grin

bluebeardsbabe Wed 27-Mar-13 18:18:18

Me too. I definitely believe what we send out to the universe we reap back. I even managed not to get irritated earlier when I didn't have change at the car park so as not to attract more negativity smile

Oopla Wed 27-Mar-13 19:32:13

Thanks indigo grin am going to practise saying that aloud regularly, would def help me when I get caught up in being negative.

NotTreadingGrapes Thu 28-Mar-13 07:31:54

Thank you Indigo, definitely going to put more positive words out there today. Yesterday was spent in a haze of arguing with exam boards over their cock up for my students and when I look back at the day it was a "meh" day because I carried on chewing over the exam stuff.

IndigoBarbie Tue 02-Apr-13 20:40:46

Hi all, how's it been?
I am thinking of another one: encase yourself in beautiful rose pink light, and then extend this out to others when you feel like it. Then, how about adding this colour to the words you speak? xx

NotTreadingGrapes Wed 03-Apr-13 08:08:25

Hi Barbie!

I often do/try the projecting colours thing, after reading a v good book about protection during chanelling years ago.

I like to "float" wee infinity symbols everywhere as well. blush

I just found this thread and am very happy to meet you all. I've been on (and off and back in again) a spiritual path for about 15 years but have a *VERY* earthy energy so the mediumship side is harder for me but im great for grounding the floaty ones ;-)

I'm pagan/green Wiccan but really crap at marking each sabbat and esbat. I'm a Reiki master but rarely teach (only ever friends) and I lovelovelove crystal energy. I've been thinking I want to get back on my path a bit more do this thread is a great nudge.

My DH is utterly un-woo and I'm expecting DC1 so not sure how I can introduce her to some of this without him getting pissy hmm

Merry meet x

marissab Wed 03-Apr-13 16:28:25

Hello from a fellow pagan. I'm the same as you. I try to honour the sabbats but when your baby comes along there's even less time! I just try to
Get my kids out in nature as much as possible and talk tio them about the seasons. Nothing too woo.

PyroclasticFlo Wed 03-Apr-13 17:55:51

Hello, another pagan / kitchen witch and Reiki master here - with a totally atheist non-woo DH! grin I tell my DSs that mummy is a witch and I'm teaching DS1 to do protective reiki and to respect nature, that much DH can handle. DS goes to a C of E school though so the questions about Jesus and crucifixion of late have been a bit much!

I think the most important thing to remember when you are busy with DC is that even if you don't mark the sabbath etc with a ceremony as such, your intention and thoughts are the most powerful things. Teaching my children to love one another, look after the earth, trust nature, believe that everything is possible with positive thinking and that the universe is a loving, benevolent place is what I focus on. (Or try to in between the usual day to day crap!)

PyroclasticFlo Wed 03-Apr-13 17:56:31

Sabbat, that should have been, damn predictive text!

IndigoBarbie Wed 03-Apr-13 20:55:53

Hello fellows! Good evening to you all smile
Notreador I was laughing to the infinity symbols, something thats been quite prevalent with me of late smile smile
Remembering - Hello, welcome welcome. I think I've scared everyone away.....My DH is very non woo too, and my DS1 is beginning to come out with some very interesting phrases.......our challenges may be similar xx
Marrisab How are you doing?
Pyro Hellooo darling xxx

Bluebeards, Oopla, Angelelle - come back you loves xxx

Oopla Thu 04-Apr-13 09:44:17

Hello everyone smile hi indigo
Welcome along pyro and remembering.
Remembering am really interested when you say you have very earthy energy. How did you find out?

I was surprised to find out when I looked up my families elemental signs that we are one of each, DP earth, I air, dd fire, ds water. Since then we've had another water dragon and he's the feistiest one of the bunch smile

Can we cast a spell to make the sun come out?

PyroclasticFlo Thu 04-Apr-13 12:42:43

I tried some weather magic this morning, Oopla, I used to be very successful with it when I was younger but since having children I don't have time to practise!! I did my best, but that cold snowy front defeated me grin.

Panadbois Thu 04-Apr-13 17:11:31

I'm taking my 12 yr old DD to her first Spiritual Church service tonight.

I'm hoping she'll get some healing as well as an eyeopener. (tough time with her at the moment)

Oopla Thu 04-Apr-13 18:21:46

Thank you for trying pyro smile

Panad- hope you & your DD enjoy your service, do let us know how it goes smile

frecklyspeckly Thu 04-Apr-13 21:21:55

I love this thread..I've been lurking for ages. Hello all! I had reiki a year ago and actually 'felt' someone pushing down on my arm when I was being treated except the reiki lady was actually the other side of me at the time! any ideas who/what it could be? I wasn't scared but it was a very definate 'push'..

IndigoBarbie Thu 04-Apr-13 21:32:48

Hey Weathergirls, the sun was out at my house today smile smile
Freckly - sometimes our angels and guides like to help out and do a little work too smile

marissab Thu 04-Apr-13 22:41:24

Freckly, reiki can work like that. You work with peoples energy feild and aura so where the reiki lady was doesn't always bear a relation to where the reiki is working. Also the reiki will move to where it's needed and can definately feel like a push sometimes. I've heard it can have very strange effects on people. My reiki teacher told me he had a client whom he cpuldn't give reiki over her kidneys. It provoked, shall we say, extreme sexual happenings!!!! Something he'd never known in any other person. blush

IndigoBarbie Thu 04-Apr-13 22:42:51

Marrisab - Yes, the happenings! We are all made out of energy.....and it's very very very potent smile

marissab Thu 04-Apr-13 22:43:12

What indigo said may also be true, i'm not dissing you indigo. I'm just not an angelly person and prefer to think in terms of energies.

IndigoBarbie Fri 05-Apr-13 07:42:06

Hi of course, I'm certainly not the authority on anything. I perceive energies around me as angels, some are ascended masters, some are loved ones and so on. They each have their own energy signature. It's just how I perceive it. However, reiki and other vibrations have their own frequency too, so yeah it could be whatever the client perceives.
My first ever reiki treatment in around 2001 I actually thought the practitioner was holding my hands. It was the most amazing sensation. She never touched my hands, and they were tucked under the covers with me.

Oopla Fri 05-Apr-13 08:02:32

The sun is shining grin

IndigoBarbie Fri 05-Apr-13 09:36:59

It really is smile thank you x

Panadbois Fri 05-Apr-13 09:41:59

DD wasn't too bored and was surprised when the medium told her the spirits are telling her not to worry about her exams!

Every time I give Reiki, either to myself or others I can feel the energy in the palms of ny hands. It's like a ball rolling.

The most amazing experience I've had during reiki was with crystals. She had placed appropriate crystal on my chakras, and the one place on my third eye chakra was doing its own thing! I could feel the pressure of it pressing down towards my nose, like a constant ripple. Weird.

PyroclasticFlo Fri 05-Apr-13 16:31:37

Yay sunshine grin It took a day but we got there in the end wink

PyroclasticFlo Fri 05-Apr-13 16:33:37

panad I have that feeling too when I do Reiki, a really strong tingling sensation in my hands. Sometimes when I'm with someone who is very low and in need of healing its almost like a magnet attracting my hands to them and I find it physically difficult not to put my hands near them to let the Reiki flow to them directly. When with someone non-woo who's in that state I have to try and channel it indirectly but it's like an itch, my hands feel desperate to be in contact with them.

marissab Sat 06-Apr-13 17:40:26

Me too me too! It's like a ball of energy rolling around my palms. Weird thing is i used to feel it when i was young, bedore i ever heard of reiki. But i guess Usui had never heard of Reiki either. So it must be possible without attuning.

Oopla Sun 07-Apr-13 07:52:39

Indigo- please could I pm you?

marissab Sun 07-Apr-13 08:37:30

I've mentioned on here before about my 2 yo girl. She is overly sensetive and can read emotions very well. she always hugs and cuddles anyone who's sad and has lately been doing some unexplained stuff. She started singing a wierd song over and over that sounded like an indian chant and used my ukulele as a violin. She evn found a stick to use as a bow. We have no violins and i have no idea how she would know how one worked. Then last night, i had an amazing exciting dream. She toddled in to us this morning and the first thing she said to me was "good dream mommy?" How does she know these things? It's amazing!

NotTreadingGrapes Sun 07-Apr-13 13:36:10

Afternoon all.....

I have just remembered something reading your posts about energy work.

About 12 yrs ago a woo-friend grin and I started to try and do channelling, I had that feeling of the energy ball between my hands, in fact we used it as a "warm up" exercise. We were trying to feel each other's aura and with my friend I got a very "fizzy" "prickly" feeling and a strong black and white "image". Afterwards, we both wrote our ideas down without telling each other anything to avoid suggestion, and discovered that she had been holding the image in her head of a TV screen showing nothing but that snowy static interference.

marissab Sun 07-Apr-13 22:23:38

Ok i may have solved the violin thing. Apparantly the man on zingzillas has one. Not so woo after all grin

bumbleymummy Mon 08-Apr-13 00:08:15

I don't know marissa...I find them pretty freaky! smile

t875 Mon 08-Apr-13 00:19:43

Hello everyone. Can I join please? I find this thread very interesting!! :-)

NotTreadingGrapes Mon 08-Apr-13 08:18:16

Hello t875 smile welcome to what is hopefully a woo safe Haven.

NotTreadingGrapes Mon 08-Apr-13 08:19:05

grin at violins. Dd is learning and it is seriously earsplittingly awful right now. (dp was telling me the church used to ban them because apparently t'is the instrument of the devil)

IndigoBarbie Mon 08-Apr-13 16:47:39

Hiiiii, <peeking around> Think this is still a haven.....
Don't you think it's amazing on the energy side of things - I can hardly believe that it's real and its amazing....I don't think I will ever forget how my life has completely changed and how it was before the energy/reiki......

t875 Mon 08-Apr-13 17:13:05

Lol yeah it's good to see a safe haven after the other thread.

Thanks for the welcome.
I had a oh my word moment today. Again the ol sceptics will pull it apart but I think it's bloody strange. grin

As you know I lost my wonderful mum my best friend this time lady year over now ( last year she was in a coma) I miss her terribly.

Anyway me and her were/ are creative, she loved it when I done my sewing cross stitch etc. she knitted, crochet, made cards like me. I'm def her. smile anyway I took my children to a seeing shop as my eldest wants to make herself something with my help. The lady asked me if I sew I said yeah I've done a few courses but that's it. I said but I don't get time now so I don't bother.

At that moment I was compelled to look to the side of me and there was a book and on the front was SEW and MY name on it!! I couldn't believe it! So I picked up that it was my mum saying for me to sew again possibly!
Sorry so long but thought I'd share smile x

PyroclasticFlo Mon 08-Apr-13 17:54:03

That's lovely t875 I definitely believe in little 'whispers' and messages like that. They help remind you that you're still loved and guided even though you can't see or talk to that person in the conventional sense, don't they? A great message too, get sewing! grin

Oopla Mon 08-Apr-13 19:01:57

T875 that's a lovely story smile

How did you guys get Into reiki?

Feeling some strange shifts here atm, lying awake at night and the air is just charged, can't better explain it. Do you go through marked periods of growth spiritually speaking do you think?

t875 Mon 08-Apr-13 22:05:26

Hi Oopla, sorry im not into reiki well i find it interesting but I dont do it. Was more drawn to the woo side of things. I have had healing before though from my friend who is a medium and when she gave me healing my god i felt such a burning sensation and her hand didn't even touch me.

pyroplasticflo - Thanks yeah i thought the same, think she was telling me something. smile

Twosugarsplease Mon 08-Apr-13 22:23:27

'phew ! I got out alive ! '
Some of the responses on other threads T875 !
Can I please sit comfy here with a cuppa ? smile

IndigoBarbie Mon 08-Apr-13 22:32:29

Hiya, I love what you experience T875, and yes this is exactly how I experience my own 'signs'. I love this, and want to give you a hug and say I am proud of you for noticing!!! Not trying to be trite, but forgive me.
Everyone sorry I am so slow I am in the middle of catching up on what I've missed on each thread........
I got into reiki when I started experiencing panic attacks many years ago. It started off with a nice reflexology treatment, and then the person suggested reiki. At my first session I couldn't believe what was going on in my body or around it.....I had to learn how to do it for myself......wow smile no going back after that....

NotTreadingGrapes Tue 09-Apr-13 06:43:50

<pulls twosugars under the protective canopy and reseals the haven> grin

PyroclasticFlo Tue 09-Apr-13 11:45:07

I can't even remember how I first found out about Reiki to be honest, it was so long ago - but once I experienced it I knew I had to train in it, and after 2 years I got to master level (am also reflexologist and qualified life coach but that's another story!). It did help me in my spiritual journey, definitely, but if you'd seen me today when I was was shouting at my children like a fishwife you wouldn't have thought I was a terribly spiritual person wink so it isn't like a magic wand that turns you into an enlightened master (more's the pity!). But when I remember to self-treat and use the reiki teachings I definitely feel a lot happier and am much nicer to be around!

Twosugarsplease Tue 09-Apr-13 12:29:01

indigo my first reiki session was suggested to me because of panic attacks I was having at the time.
Really helped me too.

t875 Tue 09-Apr-13 23:37:02

Thanks everyone i have to say i was apprehensive about the other thread!!But this is much friendlier!! My god some of the replies, i thought i best not get back on them as i was pretty shocked and was likely to let them know how shocked i was grin

Thanks indigo/everyone. I have been more spiritual since we lost our beloved cocker spaniel dog thats when the white feathers started, we even found on indoors on his rug just after he passed. Me and my mum had a spiritual connection anyway, i do feel my mum around and like i said on the other thread i have had a very clear dreams i was talking to her after she had passed. I have had my name called twice, i still get the feathers, i have had a lot of things happen which have really been woo moments to say the least...

Is this thread mainly reiki and healing? xx

bluebeardsbabe Thu 11-Apr-13 20:14:07

Eeek....been bunkering down as dd has been taking up a lot of time and see that I missed a whole Reiki discussion. Going back to reread but just thought I would say hello and do a bit of a bump. So happy the threads still going and protected from negative ninnies.

bluebeardsbabe Fri 12-Apr-13 08:34:12

Oh and just to add, I am op ....had a mn identity crisis and changed namessmile

Oopla Wed 17-Apr-13 19:34:44

Hello woo-sters smile

Went to the spiritualist church lastnight. It was a really interesting service! Such a mix of people. It seemed like some people got a lot of comfort.

I stayed afterwards for the healing service. Now that was lovely. Hard to explain how it felt but when it was over it was like waking from a really really deep sleep, was very relaxing.

So that was my woo Tuesday night anyway! What have you guys been upto lately?

NotTreadingGrapes Thu 18-Apr-13 13:06:28

I have a sore shoulder which I am magicking away. <hopeful>

I am on Day 6 of The Magic. I like it a lot and it's certainly (I think) making me emit positive energy.

Glad you enjoyed the healing session.

PyroclasticFlo Thu 18-Apr-13 15:50:05

Afternoon woo-sters grin like it, Oopla!

I had a rare trip to London on Saturday and treated myself to all sorts of lovely woo things - went to Mysteries in Mercer St and bought some incense and books, and then to Buddha on a Bicycle around the corner from there and bought some beautiful crystals. Never been drawn to crystals before really but there was one (labradorite) which just sang to me that it was right for my eldest DS, who lacks self-confidence.

I'm now reading the book I bought - Anger by Thich Nhat Hanh (anyone who hasn't read his books I HIGHLY recommend them, he is the most beautiful soul, a Buddhist teacher, monk, spiritual leader, amazing man). It's really helping me to sort my temper out, particularly with my sons! Just remembering to B R E A T H E slowly and mindfully is enough to make me feel more positive grin

Oopla Thu 18-Apr-13 16:15:17

Treading hope your shoulder eases up soon, the magic is bound to help smile

Pyro sounds like you had a fun trip, I love being drawn to things it usually works out well. Will def look up the anger book, read a few of the Dalai Lama's and the other author (whose name I can't scroll back to check the spelling of !) always comes up in my recommendations.

Panadbois Thu 18-Apr-13 16:30:38

Well I gave some good messages for a stranger at the development circle Monday night - really amazing myself. But I'm still thinking, how did I know that? Did I hear it or see it? I have loads to learn grin
No good woo shops around here sadly, but going to south Wales in May, I'll have to google to find shops in that direction.

PyroclasticFlo Thu 18-Apr-13 18:18:32

Panadbois I once went to a psychic / mediumship skills workshop with Gordon Smith, had never done anything like it before.
In pairs we had to see if we could tune in and receive anything and I though 'no chance' but was ASTONISHED when I got an image in my head of a city that I 'knew' was Cape Town (never been there) and heard a voice sort of stage-whisper 'Sister' in my head.
I told this to the lady I was partnered with and she went white. Her sister had just died and her son was going travelling to Cape Town that summer. It was as if her sister was saying she would look out for him. Spooky!
I was more surprised than the lady I was with, I often wonder if I studied and practised how far I could take it.

Maybe it was a one-off, but it was amazing to have images and a voice just 'appear' in my head.

PyroclasticFlo Thu 18-Apr-13 18:21:37

thought no chance that should've been. And meant to say Panadbois I know what you mean.

Panadbois Thu 18-Apr-13 18:27:53

Thanks for replying. There is only one explanation to this, and it's woo. No doubt about it :-)

bumbleymummy Fri 19-Apr-13 07:52:55

That's amazing! I've never heard of of these medium workshops. Do people just go? I've only had an experience of a voice in my head telling me something once and it was just totally random. DH was telling me about something he was trying to fix and I just 'heard' a voice tell me something to do to fix it and then DH said he'd read something that suggested what I'd just heard! It wasn't the same words or anything so not what the sceptics would explain away as the brain 'misfiring' or whatever it is they use to explain déjà vu. I'd love to hear more about how it works smile

Panadbois Fri 19-Apr-13 08:35:22

I think your best bet is to go to a spiritualist church and they might introduce you to a circle.
I was invited to join by my Reiki teacher.
I can't wait for Monday nights!

bumbleymummy Fri 19-Apr-13 08:58:37

I think there is one not too far away from me but is be a bit nervous to go without knowing anyone.

Panadbois Fri 19-Apr-13 13:58:27

I was the same. I figured if this was the path for me so be it. So I went on my own, quite nervous but it was fine. My group was very welcoming.
Saying that, for a while, I was the new kid on the block and I was warned by my Reiki teacher that some of the other members might feel jealous if I was making progress in a short time especially if they'd been going for a while.
Everyone is nice now though and feels like I've been there as long as them :-)

bumbleymummy Fri 19-Apr-13 14:20:22

That's nice Pan smile Do you find you're making progress quite quickly? What exactly do you do? Sorry to be so nosy!

Panadbois Fri 19-Apr-13 15:57:14

We start by meditating, which is a real bonus for me. I love it and try to do it at home if I get the chance. I love guided meditations :-)

Every week then we practice different things, cards, blindfolded reading, psychometry, reading colours etc. Very woo, and very interesting. Don't tell anybody will you?

bumbleymummy Fri 19-Apr-13 16:44:58

grin it sounds really interesting! I was imagining something a lot more scary really blush you know the blind psychic lady in the movie The Others?

PyroclasticFlo Fri 19-Apr-13 17:53:24

Pan that sounds wonderful, I'd love to go to a group like that (I LOVE guided meditations too!). Is it the spiritualist church that does the readings etc or a separate group that is the 'circle'? Is it something that has branches around the country, do you know?

Panadbois Fri 19-Apr-13 18:57:40

One of the members of the spiritualist Church is my teacher, and one of the regular mediums there.

You can google spiritualist churches to see where the closest one to you is.

I have since found out there is another circle run by another medium in my town. Once you start, you see them everywhere! (Town of 16,000)

Panadbois Fri 19-Apr-13 18:59:09

Bumbley- I don't watch scary movies, I'm too much of a wimp grin

bumbleymummy Fri 19-Apr-13 19:24:25

Don't start with The Others then! grin

hello smile
i'm finding this thread very interesting, I used to post under a previous name on a similar thread a couple of years ago.
i work at a nursery and a little boy told me something that was from a past life - he kept saying he had a baby in his tummy and when i said that today he was a boy, his mum isn't pg, he calmed down because he knew that someone believed him but didn't make a big fuss.

(Indigobarbie - your name sounds very familiar!)

bumbleymummy Sat 20-Apr-13 19:25:01

Does anyone know anything about kinesiology? A friend was telling me about it today and she mentioned that this particular kinesiologist can give dates of particular (traumatic) events that have caused blockages or whatever. She has been very accurate with a few people! It just sounded really interesting but when I was reading a bit about it on t'internet it didn't mention anything about being able to give dates - maybe this woman has a particular 'gift' that enables her to give that additional information? confused or is that common?

Panadbois Sat 20-Apr-13 20:09:12

Auora - lovely post.

Haven't heard Bout that phenomena, but when I first read it, I thought it was the ability to move things with your mind smile
Let us know if you find out!

bluebeardsbabe Thu 25-Apr-13 18:29:07

Agh, been a bit absent again, life taking over.
bumble my Reiki teacher also did kinseology and did it on me, she sure did release something in me as first I laughed hysterically and then I cried. It was such a weird sensation. My massage teacher also did kinesology and tested me to see what sex DD was when I was pregnant with her. I already knew but she didn't and she got girl which was cool. I would suspect your friend is also a bit psychic...a lot of these things go hand in hand. My massage teacher is also a psychic, does Reiki, kinesiology etc but totally non woo, you would never think it to look at her.

DD is only 6 months but can't wait until she is older and I can ask where she was before mummies tummy smile

bluebeardsbabe Thu 25-Apr-13 18:30:45

bumble The Others still haunts me!!!!

NotTreadingGrapes Thu 25-Apr-13 20:35:17

Just popping in to say I am, as we speak, on my balcony doing woo-y stuff under the full moon/partial eclipse smile and felt I wanted to involve you guys as well!

IndigoBarbie Thu 25-Apr-13 22:11:07

Hey team, I've been lifebusy too. Sending love n hugs for all.
Nottreading thanks, I am loving the full moon energy as it's partial eclipse in my sun sign...woooh smile [lovelymoonsmilie]
aurora - really, tell me why?? xxxx
I know I said I'd get round to doing readings for people, but I am quite possibly the slowest person ever - but it's all due to me getting involved in too much 'stuff' ie work and life and family etc...I have well meaning intentions but end up letting people down sad My apologies, and when I get a little time I will send out the feelers again and see if anyone would like a few words.
Love you all xxx

NotTreadingGrapes Fri 26-Apr-13 06:16:49

A fellow Scorp then Barbie? smile

I left my crystals and stuff on the balcony to soak up the rays and the universe has deemed fit to break my pulley thing for the shutters grin So now I will have to limbo out there under the bit that isn't blocked to retrieve my woo-bilia.

I'm on the list for a reading when you're ready!

Oopla Fri 26-Apr-13 09:15:24

Grapes your post made me laugh grin sorry about the pulley am sure the universe had a reason!

bumbleymummy Fri 26-Apr-13 15:22:13

Bluebeard, I did wonder that. I've made an appt so I'll keep you all posted! smile

NotTreadingGrapes Sun 28-Apr-13 16:43:33

Hello woosters.

Balcony is fixed.....and today dp won £150 on the lottery. smile Coinciding with my doing the Magic day of gratitude for money past and present.....and his parents have offered to pay for a family party that we'll be organising over the next few weeks. Both totally unexpected. <gratitudegratitudegratitude>

NC78 Tue 30-Apr-13 18:16:41

What is this magic of the day stuff?

bluebeardsbabe Thu 02-May-13 21:36:49

I think what grapes is referring to is a book in The Secret series...unavoidable to have missed in the past few years. There are a few new books by the same author and The Magic is daily excercises that you can do to enrich your life.

So I just reminded myself that I bought this book and was bowled over by it by life took over and I really need to get back to it.

Having said that, life is going pretty well in some parts at the mo, lots of positive thinking smile

Nothing woo to report here at the moment but a question. Anyone know anything about the cards of destiny? They are meant to be really accurate, like playing cards. A friend of mine had hers done and the details were very specific. Made me curious to try them.

NotTreadingGrapes Fri 03-May-13 07:21:18

Yes, NC it's the Magic book I'm following.

I'm not following it completely to timescale, (ie I should be on about day 20 but am on about day 13 I think) Some days just rush away with me, but it is helping me with positive thinking and I am enjoying writing down what wishes I want to come true etc grin

I've not heard of the destiny cards, no, but will now scoot off and do some googling!

indigo - i used to post on this topic a while ago, under a different name. i remember that you answered queries fairly and didn't judge anybody smile

Panadbois Sun 12-May-13 14:45:08

Bump, don't let this thread disappear!

IndigoBarbie Sun 12-May-13 22:00:33

aurora, are you sure it was me? I'm normally having a rant about rainbows, and angels ;) xxx

This thread shall not disappear, no invisibility cloaks here

By the way, how are thee all?

NotTreadingGrapes Mon 13-May-13 09:12:28

I'm here!

Still magicking away...although dd has first holy communion this week so am madly busy and surrounded by woo of an altogether different (but surprisingly similar wink persuasion! (I'm not Catholic btw, but dp and dd are, what with us being in deepest darkest Italy an'all)

Panadbois Mon 13-May-13 18:21:10

I can't go to the circle tonight as DH is away and I need hi to look after LO confused

Since last time I have been on this thread, Our development group had star turn at the local spiritualist church. I didn't think I'd have the guts to sit upfront, but I did grin

I was given an image of shrek and a labrador puppy which a woman in the front row said was for her, I was then given the word Turkey, which I thought meant holidays but just gave the word. The woman works in the meat industry and had been giving presentations all week on turkeys!!

Although I was buzzing I didn't really het a spirit come through. It might be cos i was feeling very self conscious by then. the phrase, All mediums are psychic but not all psychics are mediums is haunting me a bit now!

Wow panadbois - that was really good! You just need to accept that smile trust in your guardian angel, ask for their help protecting yourself and giving the best message that you can and you will be fine x

Oopla Wed 15-May-13 13:45:27

Panadbois that's so exciting smile I bet that took some courage to stand up, well done you x

Panadbois Wed 15-May-13 14:24:07

grin there wasn't any pressure from the group leader. I consulted my cards in the morning and although I can't remember which one i got, it basically said, don't put it off, go for it today!

I would have regretted not trying!

Panadbois Thu 16-May-13 17:22:17

The spooky thread over on chat is scary!

NotTreadingGrapes Thu 16-May-13 17:31:31

I've just bookmarked that! Looks very interesting!

frecklyspeckly Thu 16-May-13 22:05:50

hello all, I am still here too

Panadbois Thu 06-Jun-13 08:44:16

I'm convinced I saw orbs last night whilst taking a photo of DH with my phone. First time ever and I was awestruck! happened time and time again and now I have loads of pictures of hubby (no evidence though except possibly one!)

Anyone else seen them?

Panadbois Thu 06-Jun-13 22:59:36

Tried again tonight..... and now think its dust particles blush

IndigoBarbie Fri 07-Jun-13 07:04:26

I see them/get them. I'll dig out some pics and put a link up. Or else everywhere I am it's soooo totally dusty ;) xx

Panadbois Fri 07-Jun-13 07:06:30

Panadbois Thu 13-Jun-13 08:34:01

Is there anybody there?

Sorry, couldn't help myself grin

InNeedOfBrandy Fri 14-Jun-13 10:36:19

I'm here!

Had my cards read saterday was very interesting and he was spot on with most of it. A card came up that he couldn't fit in the layout and another card jumped out the pile. Was very woo that that card went where the other card didn't fit!

Panadbois Fri 14-Jun-13 12:36:32

Hi InNeed

I have two sets of cards and really need to sit down and get to know them and learn to use them!!

How much did he charge you?

InNeedOfBrandy Fri 14-Jun-13 14:41:33

£10 it was only supposed to be a ten minute reading but we were chatting for over a hour blush

Every time I see someone woo I get told do i know im psychic and I have a man on my shoulder and to pay attention to smells that shouldn't be there....

He did say I should pull a card from my deck every morning, write down what it is an what I feel about it and the end of every night write a couple of sentences about my day and see after a while of it tallys up.

Did I read right you go to a spiritulist church pan? There's one right by me but I'm to nervous to go! They do a family service on Sundays so I might pop in and see what it's like.

Panadbois Sat 15-Jun-13 20:27:41

Yes I do, every thursday night. I go on my own and I am not the most assertive person! By now, I have a few familiar faces there and even know some of the hymns!!

Go for it (wish I could come with you for support!)

TheSherrif Sun 23-Jun-13 18:40:09

Hey, anyone still there? Well anyway, having read this I have watched "The Secret" and am really interested... I have been working on being positive today & seriously feel so different. It's my future!!! (Apols Peter Kay..)

TheBirdsFellDownToDingADong Mon 24-Jun-13 08:24:26

I am still here!

Did super moony ritual things last night.

I have finished the 28 days of The Magic, (much better than the Secret as practical stuff you can do which I liked) and I do think I have become a more positive person.

elfycat Mon 24-Jun-13 13:54:06

I wanted to get a moonstone essence made by that moon last night... mutter mumble dratted clouds mutter.

Oh well back to writing the homework up for the Essences qualification with the other 8 moonstone ones I've made previously.

I wandered off thread for a while due to study pressure, but one course is out of the way and another to go <goes to wrestle case studies into submission>

TheBirdsFellDownToDingADong Mon 24-Jun-13 14:00:29

The moon was so strong. It really did feel tangible last night.

I had a spell cast for me as well which I'm feeling good about smile

I am interested in hearing about essences....Dp is always bringing in "bowls of water with "is this salt out here????" and asking me what I'm up to grin

elfycat Mon 24-Jun-13 14:17:25

I'm completing level 3 of the Bach Flower Essences (just need to type - oh - about another 6000 words)

We had to do a creative project, could be anything not necessarily related to essences, to show how the Bach remedies can support emotional states through to completion of a goal. I chose to make moonstone essences by different phases of the moon and then test the differences. So 8 moonstone plus I did a sunstone by full moon for the fun of it (I'm a crystal healer from a few years back)

Lots of Bach's Olive (for energy getting up in the night), Wild Oat (seeing the future where it's all done), Hornbeam (for those can't be bothered days), Gentian (working through set-backs like cloud cover ) etc

I've also looked up and tried 5 different producers essences for the homework and I've been really surprised and impressed by some of them.

So... is it salt you're doing grin

bluebeardsbabe Wed 26-Jun-13 19:28:23

Bump smile I am here too, the thread opener, lol. I had checked out there for a really long time, been in quite a bad place and almost kind of gave up on all things woo as I feel like I am not moving forward even with my strong belief that I am being looked after. Anyhoot, am here now and glad the thread is still going.

INNEED: Who did your cards?

My most recent woo experience was via my mum who always calls on my deceased dad when she loses things, most recently he found her wallet in a really odd place. I love stuff like that smile

Panadbois Thu 27-Jun-13 17:24:47

I'm here too. Not doing anything exiting, but still here :-)

TheSherrif Fri 28-Jun-13 19:03:09

I think I'm going to have to work a little harder on the positivity front - had a difficult afternoon re work & feel really deflated. I just have to refocus I know. I loved that new feeling & I'm getting it back!!
bluebeardsbabe don't give up, just trust in yourself & the universe. smile

wundawoman Mon 01-Jul-13 18:50:31

Great thread - would love to join!
I'm into yoga and meditation. My yoga teacher is quite woo and I love her!!
I'm trying to trust my intuition more - I used to be very trusting but have strayed somewhat over the years!! Now im way too cynical. Need to reconnect...
I'm not clairvoyant but think I am certainly empath type - have often been told I am too sensitive. I know when a place or environment is suitable for me or not!! I feel this very strongly. Not too sure if I have this with people, but generally I like most people...

suburbophobe Mon 15-Jul-13 17:02:01

Did you know there's lots of stuff on FB, angels, crystals, etc.

That's why I joined, it's great to get all this positive stuff first thing in the morning grin
