Acceptable wedding dress in RC Church?

I am having a blessing in a Catholic Church at the beginning of March at 3 pm. I want to wear a full length glitzy / sexy evening dress and a short fur cape for warmth. The main reception will be a black tie do in the evening and I want to stay in same dress for the whole day and night. Is this acceptable attire for a church? My church is very laid back by the way. I have also posted this under religion.

how sexy is 'sexy' ? if you mean with your boobs practically hanging out then I would say it isn't really suitable, but a bit of leg and strapless is probably ok. I hope the cape isn't real fur though!

I can't see any problem with that. It's full length and you are covering your shoulders, which is what the RCs usually expect. Just as long as it's not slit to the thigh with a plunging neckline!!
I wore an evening dress to my RC wedding and no one batted an eyelid.

Full length, no slits, sequins, not low cut at front, but back is revealing as it is just criss cross laces at the back. Hence fur cape (yes real rabbit fur). Some old as it was my Grandma's.

Eldestgirl what was your dress like? What month/time did you marry?
