hello, i will be moving into a new home for myself and baby very soon, (only renting) has taken me so long to find somewere and i cant wait to move in.

i was wondering if anyone could help me with any details of a 'blessing' ritual for the house to both protect it and us. it has a small garden too, any plants that are good for protection, happiness, peace.
thank you

Walk through your new home wafting a sage smudge stick and reciting the following:

Touch the lintel and touch the wall,
Nothing but blessings here befall!
Bless the candle that stands by itself,
Bless the book on the mantle shelf,
Bless the pillow for the tired head,
Bless the hearth and the light shed.
Friends who tarry here, let them know
A three fold blessing before they go.
Sleep for weariness - peace for sorrow
Faith in yesterday and tomorrow.
Friends who go from here, let them bear
The blessing of hope, wherever they fare.
Lintel and windows, sill and wall,
Nothing but good, this place befall.

Blessed Be

I have a nice "house blessing" prayer but don't have time to copy it now! Will do it later or tomorrow if you're interested

Oh yeah and good plants for protection would be basil, bay leaf, carnation, chamomile, garlic, ivy, lavender, onion, parsley, peppermint, rosemary, sage, thyme and violet.

For happiness you can pretty much plant whatever makes you happy - that's the point, what matters to you.

Peace would be basil, gardenia, lavender, lily, passion flower, rose, vervain, violets.

OK - here goes...

May God bless this house from its foundations to its roof.
May he bless every doorpost, every stone and timber.
May he bless the family and the table on which the food is set.
May he bless every room for sound sleep at night.
May he bless the door that we open willingly to the poor and the stranger as well as to our relatives.
May he bless the windows which let in the light to us from sun, moon and stars.
May he bless the roof above our heads and each firm wall surrounding us.
With our neighbours may peace and love abound.
May God bless this family of ours and keep it from danger;
And may he lead us all to his own kingly house of hospitality for ever.

I don't know where it comes from. Someone wrote it out for us in calligraphy whne we moved here and I have it in a frame on the wall.

Hope you are happy in your new house!

also, any thoughts on the number 4...i know that we don't have cantonese as the language here, but any thoughts on what the house number means and how i can restrict any bad vibes?
