First of all we want to give thanks for Peter's new heart and keep praying for Misdee (LadyVictoriaOfCake), the three girls and the extended family. Pray for continuing healing and a full recovery.

In tension with that we pray for Onlyjoking and Steve and their three children, together with Steve's mother and his (twin) brother. Let us commit them in prayer to the God of miracles and of blessing. Pray that they will find help in the most unexpected places and that the 'peace of God which passes all understanding' will fill their heart.

Prayers for CaptainCaveman in a difficult situation with dsis in hospital. Praying for grace to cope from day to day with issues that are longstanding and unresolved. Prayer for restful nights and an deliverance from panic attacks.
Give thanks for an understanding manager at work.

CaptainDippy gives thanks for dh's new job, which is going well so far and for Phoebe sleeping through the night. Prayers to cope with all the stress of having three 'ickle pickles'.

Harrisey - thanks for a holiday that was better than expected. Thanks for a smooth start to school for ds. Prayers for dh, proper adjustment of medication and for an end to H's migraine.

We pray for MaryBS for a wonderful time on holiday also for Mufti. NASWM (Losty) Let's give thanks that she is getting better, although she is nowhere near well. Hoping to be discharged in September. Pray for the necessary help to be found. (Thanks to DumbledoresGirl for the update). If possible post a message on the thread. here
NotSoFarNow Pray for her as she continues to adjust to life without husband. Pray for relationships with her family and for the new beginnings that may be possible. Pray for wisdom in the situation.

PandaG Pray for her and her friends who are moving away leaving a void.

Podglet Pray that the house situation may be resolved very speedily

QueenofQuotes Give thanks with her for an improving relationship with dh. Pray for the older dss that they may find time to have some Christian teaching as well as sport on a Sunday.

Roseylea gives thanks for the wonderful wedding of fil and for good conversations with dh. Pray for this to continue so that all issues may be resolved. Pray also for recovery from cold and protection from threatened Crohn's attack.

Xaviella has seen the end of her relationship in the last week. Pray for the peace of God to surround her and her family as she adjusts to life on her own

ZipadySuzy is back after a wonderful lady at the library gave her a computer. Unfortunately all stuff from her old computer has been lost at the repairers.
Pray that she will be able to pace herself

Also remember Katz NQGU and Worzella.

Finally:- Give thanks to the Lord always. Rejoice in the Lord always. God is great. ..all the time

DO, thanks for doing this. We like reading your name as my dh's dad is German and so my kiddies have an Oma - their great granny!

Migraine is a lot better thanks, not totally gone but ok. Was able to get tea, put kids to bed etc. Praise God for G, my amazing nanny, who is just fab!

I am off to bed again now. Reading my way through Bohoeffer's "Christology" in prep for next term! But I think I might leave it for tonight!

Rosey - did you get your book yet? I will email you this week, I promise!

Many thanks for doing this DO, I also want to give thanks that dsis is now home and has detoxed and so far, is staying off the alcohol. Praying for her continued recovery.

I must share with you the beauty of the Lord I witnessed on the west coast of the Isle of Man. It was very windy and the sea was quite stormy. From the top of the castle I looked down and was awe-struck by the sight of the waves crashing onto the rocks, the sheer mighty power of the sea as it foamed and swelled. The sky above was grey but the horizon was clear and the sun was just peeking out showing the promise of better weather on its way. It was just such a magnificent display of God's power at work through nature.
WOW, just thinking about that then I can see a message there from God. It might feel stormy now but look, God is everywhere and calmer times are coming. Sorry if I'm rambling, it just clicked what God was showing me . Hallelujah!!!

CD - have just read the fab round-up of Dutchoma (thank you by the way) and read Pheobe is sleeping through, well done you, now you can start thinking of yourself in an evening

Just got home from work, shattered!! my bed is calling me, so night god bless all! don't let the bed bugs bite!

Captain - good luck with the swimming trip this afternoon Must be something in the air, all my little pickles have been having a 'sock fight' this morning, but when ds 11yo gets involved (being dysphraxic) it gets out of control, I half expected my beautiful flowers to get broken (23rd wed ann last sat - phew what a long 23 years)

Please could we have a prayer request for the weather, we are inventing a 'sun dance' this afternoon, ds1 going to video it, should be fun after we have all dressed up, making sunny masks, and finding anything bright to wear! (loosing ideas how to keep everybody entertained during hols)!

God bless everyone today hope you are all well!

Hi Podglet, Glad you liked Northampton. We've been living here since 1973 and I think it is not a bad place to live but dd hates it and can't wait to move away. Hope your house exchange goes alright.

Hi CD and NQGU

How are you Rosey?

Harrisey, of course we will pray for your son. We had very similar things with our dd, many years ago, she was just too clever for her own good and school just wasn't taxing enough. He will no doubt settle eventually, meanwhile could you help him by finding nice books from the library and reading them with him?

Also have you prayed with him for his school, his teacher and any other people he would like to pray for?

Hello all!

Suze love, you couldn't pop down here and do a sun dance in our garden, could you? In Herts we have overcast skies, drizzle, coldish weather. The play park had one solitary hardy toddler (and mum) in it yesterday when normally it is teeming with dc. Please God - give us some nice weather!

Harrissey I will pray for your ds. It's a tricky business, eh, starting school. Dd is not looking forward to it (despite her shiny new uniform!) - she is going into Year 1. She is pretty bright as well, so I'm hoping that her new teacher will give her enough new challenged to keep her interested. And yes I have got the book! It's a bit dated (pub. 1985) but good food-for-thought. Don't worry about e-mailing!

A prayer plea - I had quite a bad day with the Crohns yesterday. It really got me down as I've had a couple of good months and it is pretty rubbish when you think you're doing really well then suddenly it's like the rug is pulled from beneath your feet. I ended up in floods of tears last night . I get peripheral arthritis as well as all the digestive stuff, so I'm very achey. I have to go into work today and take the dc with me (I'm going to let them have a picnic lunch at work!) and I've got loads of housework to do as well so please pray that God lifts me up.

Roseylea - you poor thing, I live in notts if I can be of any help, just yell 'SOOZI HELP' and I'll be there in a flash, our work has a creche, but not in my working hours!

Prayers for your crohns, I really feel for you, I can't imagine your discomfort.

We have had that horrid weather for ages, but thank the lord, the sun came out after our rain dance and its sunny again this morning, hope it stays, if not I recommend a sunshine mask and a jig round the garden, waving madly!

Morning all!

Well, ds went off fine this morning to school - very excited as he has gym today, with 'a real boy teacher, mummmy!'. So that is good. And I saw him inthe playground when I was dropping dd2 for her first day at nursery (been an eventful week) and he was fine, right as rain! He didnt se me but he was obviously playing hide-and-seek with about 6 other little boys, and laughing his head off. Maybe he really DID have a sore tummy the other day and nasty old witch mummy thought he was making it up!

Anyway, now I have a morning to myself! Dh working away, dd1 and ds at school, dd2 at nursery till 12 ! Shall I tidy the house or bum around on mn .......

Report
DutchOma · 23/08/2007 10:37

Tidy the house, then you can bum around on MN with a clear conscience. Glad ds went off to school happily. Tummy aches can be very real even if they are brought on by stress over something new..
Rosey, I'm so sorry my love that our prayers didn't prevent the Crohn's attack. The weather here is lovely dd and I are going to 'do something' in a while, not sure what.
Love to all

Morning all

Thanks DO for the roundup.

DC are going at each other 7 bells atm - I am worn out with their bickering. Have tried to cut the grass today, and I just can't get the new blade to stay on the lawnmower so having to do it with the strimmer - it is taking forever!

Praying for you Rosey, that your Crohn's settles very quickly.

Praise God you do have your photos Suzy!

Harrisey - praying that DS continues to enjoy his day today, how is your DH doing?

Thanks God for CD's church friend. Hope the swimming went well!

Xavi - if you are lurking - praying for you honey
