Lots of prayers for DH's job situation - his current contract runs out at the end of Aug & DS starts school on Aug 20th, so prayers that something new job-wise would come up before then ....

Prayers for the mother of a lady at church who has recently been found to have a bowel tumour. Prayers for DH's current work situation.

CD you are amazing!

Be impressed with me!

This weekend I took 3 kids to N. Ireland for the weekend with no dh. Serious brownie points from MIL!! There was an extended family BBQ which is an annual occurence this w/e so dh was working - so I took the kids over there - 2 flights, and dealing with mil who is nice and helpful but not exactly tactful. BIL and his wife had a baby 10 weeks ago and this kids picture is everywhere in the house and my kids are seriously relegated to the hall table. She spent the whole w/e going on about what a great mother her other DIL is, while I coped with three kids!!! (BIL & SIL have one- this new one). MIL has never been the most tactful though she is fab and has always been there when we needed her (and there have been a few times we have NEEDED her and she has taken leave from work etc to come and help out, esp when my PND was dreadful and of course I could never ask my (not so d)m for help!
But she treats her other son and his wife and family so differently, they get away with anything where we have to be perfect.

BUT (rant over) I DID IT. I coped all weekend nad now I am home and kids are in bed and I can relax. DH will be home wed - really looking forward to that

I agree - CD you're amazing!

Harrisey, glad to hear family visit went well. ILs are never easy at the best of times!

Just reporting in to say this morning went WELL! About half way through I started to wonder if it was too "modern" for the congregation - but I needn't have worried, they said it was "different, but they loved it - thought provoking and v. interesting". One old lady asked if she could take the service sheet home with her! Praise God, it worked! (apart from the fact I broke the projector screen and had to tie it up with string before the service! .

RL - not read it all properly, but praying you got to your service tonight and that you can address some of the family issues. Thats what caused DH and I to row - the state of the house and how he always seemed to be doing the cleaning/tidying up.

CD - Well done on 'another thread' hope you had a more restful weekend

harrisey - well done you, I agree 'brownie points' deserved!!!! I can't even manage to do weekly shopping with my 3dc

Another week done, DH still thoroughly enjoying his new job, I'm shattered cause I have to look after the dc by myself for longer I don't know how single parents cope, I can only manage for 10 hours by myself before I collapse with exhaustion, spose thats the downfall of being an older mummy (nearly 46 and 3yo twins) my poor dh is 54 this year, he should be even more kna...... than I am, he's a trooper! perhaps if we ate better we might feel more zest!!!!!

Anyway, off to bed now, a well deserved rest, I have been jet washing the patio all afternoon (another new tool) my DH toooo busy doing other peoples gardens

Mary - sorry x-post (by the time I sent mine) - glad the service went well, oooooh taking the service sheet home, good on you (projector tied with string) you've got to have something to take your mind off what you are supposed to be doing or you could go wappy! (I mean over analysing what to say and what not to say)

Wappy - what a horrible word, sorry Mary I think I have been listening to my 11yo ds too much (unless its nottingham twang)

Podmog - sorry to hear of your nasty incident, I bet that really shook everybody up, my prayers for a more restful nights sleep. I am too shocked for you to be honest, don't know how I would have reacted, its the 'what if' thing that gets you I should think. {{{{{{hugs}}}}}}

I hope the culprits are caught, may god put them on the right path!

Morning - saying "hello" quickly as I won't get a chance to post today - DD1 is at home this morning & is completely incapable of entertaining herself for 5 secs. Hoping she'll grow out of this as it can get quite wearing....

WOW!! harrisey - you are soo brave - well done you - I am in awe and "yey" to Brownie points with MIL - always good! Hope Wed comes round soon!

Glad the Service went well, Mary - was thinking of you & praying while trying not to fall asleep in our service yesterday morning.

Right, DD3 "talking" () so off to start the day - feeling apprehensive (silly, I know) but prayers for positivity would be nice! Thank you!

BTW - Sooz - YOU ARE ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!!!!!!!!

Might well just be relaxing after the weekend, sometimes get them as kind of 'stress releif'. So am packing kids out to school/nursery/nanny and going back to bed pronto. Please pray it clears up today as I have a busy week again and cant afford a 3-dayer!

Hope you all have a good day.

HAPPY MONDAY!

Roseylea · 25/06/2007 18:26

Hello all!

I'm feeling much brighter today. I did go to church last night, to a lovely quiet reflective Taize service, which was just what I needed. I also realised how absolutely exhausted I am atm - this afternoon after work I fell asleep with ds on my lap! When I get tired I don't cope very well with life's demands, and my life is nothing if not demanding atm!

Harrissey hope your migraine cleared up.

I hope your tum is okay Suze - I do sympathise with the IBS and the laymoments! NOt nice. Have you tried peppermint oil capsules for the IBS? (sorry, you probably get loads of useless advice!)

Mary so glad that your service went well! The congregation are probaly thrilled to have someone with fresh idersa, new ways of expession etc. They are very blessed to have you!

I don't really know how to address the family issues tbh. It's not as if dh is neglecting me and the dc - he is trying his hardest to find a more family friendly job, and he is also 'in talks' to try and reduce his workload to a more manageable level. When he is here he spends all his time with the dc and showers them with love and affection and me too. There isn't an obvious 'answer'. Oh well...

God bless all xxx

Aw Sooz - I had a touch of IBS today at work as well! Can sympathise!

I've now decided Sunday's service was a Godincidence! The reason being, that now I have met the congregation I am likely to get next week, I've started to get a sermon forming in my mind on how I'm going to preach on healing! Today must be a day for sermon writing because I think I've got a really fun idea for a sermon for the children's service as well!

oops - I'm being evicted! Will post more later!

Evening - DD's 1 & 2 being "ickle pickles" as the lovely Sooz would put it. V.wearing , esp after a full-on day. Sigh.

Praying for the lady at church who is having the op on Wed, CC (A & J)

Glad the building work has finished mufti - glad you are so with all the improvements ..... esp loft extension,. sounds lovely - what are you going to do with it??

Praying for poorly tums & "ladymoments", Sooz - How are you feeling now??

Glad you are feeling a bit bighter, Rosey - You have an awful lot on your plate atm hon. {{{{{hugs}}}} Really am praying that an amazing, "child friendly" job would come up soon, sounds like you really need it!! Always here for you. x

News on Adam so far is that he has been responding a little - opening his eyes and moving; apparentely he wrestled with some nurses over his pipes - so positive stuff - His sedation has been changed to lessen his distress.

Prayers for me please that I can get some assignment work done tomorrow instead of arsing about on mn!

And prayers for the family of the young man in Hull who drowned with his foot trapped in a drain today - how awfully and a traumatic way to go. Praying that God is with his family at such a terrible time.
