I was shocked today, DS told his friend his mum(me) was a catholic his friend said 'she will go to hell for praying to Mary. This boy is also 8 years old, what kind of people/christians would teach children such a negative attitude towards another.

Yes this boy was his friend and didn't mean to be horrible, almost like people of another religion don't matter

Kids pick up on things and can often apply them inappropriately, I find. One of ours had heard at church that christians go to heaven and she spent the next fortnight asking if it was time to go yet, and telling her friends that she was packing a bag for it.

It's unfortunate, but I guess there's little you can do about what bits of things are going to stick in their heads before they've reached an age where they can fit it all together.

Sue Baroo that's true. My ds said that someone laughed at his GAP top and said' gay and proud.' From this he inferred that it was a bad thing to be gay. I'm glad he mentioned it to me, otherwise he may have had a negative attitude.

JW's do seem to have a bit of a downer on catholics

More than on any other denomination...

They do seem to have a lot of articles on Catholics in their magazines. Mind you, they're recently had quite a few having a pop at Calvinists like me, so I reckon it all spreads out even in the end..
