Spiritual places / hippy places

Hi,

I had the most wonderful day in Glastonbury yesterday with my best friend. We are both very spiritual, though neither of us are religious.
We are looking for advice on any other spiritual and/or hippy places in England. I've had Hebden Bridge in Yorkshire suggested, and also Tintagel in Cornwall mentioned.

Could anyone tell me about any others please? Happy to drive so it doesn't matter where it is.

Thank you!

You could try the Witchcraft Museum in Boscastle - not far from Tintagel if you're heading there anyway. If you go to Tintagel look out for the recent rock carving of Merlin - it's down by the cave under the castle. Totnes in Devon is also quite hippy/boho. Have to say i'm more moved by being in nature rather than places where people are trying to flog you stuff!

Both places with a Christian history, but which I think have a sense of spirituality that is not exclusively Christian (I am Christian, so it's hard to divorce the two, but the non-Christians in my family also agree that these are 'special' places): Lindisfarne/Holy Island and Iona.

I know of plenty spiritual places, often called thin places in Celtic terminology, places where the veil between the two worlds is thinnest. But if you are just looking for English places then fine, i live elsewhere in Britain.

You can create / find your own spiritual place just by walking your local area. I have an old oak tree who's roots and trunk I sit in. He listens and gives support. There is a tree with a hole in that also holds a secret I left inside the hole with a beautiful stone I found on the path. You might visit a quiet beach, wood or hill and wonder who walked before you or just connect with nature.

Solstice blessings xx
