Daily Gratitudes 2016

A new thread for a new year. If you would like to pause, breathe and count your blessings, this is the place for you.

Everyone is welcome, we love to see new faces. It doesn't matter whether you have a faith of any kind or no faith at all; whether you post every day or just once: whether your blessings are great or small. Please drop by and be welcome.

Schools here go back tomorrow. We will probably start on Monday, if I can get myself together by then, kinky. Seems such an odd day to go back, but then, they didn't break up till Christmas eve.

Thanks LessStressed! A lot of mine tend be based in nature as I find it really calming and awe inspiring at the same time. I look out for things in nature all the time! So yesterday's were:
The sunrise I saw when I was in the car - beautiful pink and orange sky peeping out from behind city buildings.
Being able to listen to my own music in my car again (bought a new thingumyjig I can plug into phone).
Stroking the very very soft fur of my cat. Grin.

I'm trying to be a bit more literary this year as I am a pest for reading trashy self help and page-turners. I studied Lit at BA and MA, but have been very lazy over the past few years and fancied pushing myself more. I've read The Great Gatsby, Slaughterhouse Five and Housekeeping by Marilynne Robinson so far, all classics/prize winners. Just need to keep it up.

Grateful for:
family
weekends
heating
