Hi all
couldn't find anywhere appropriate to write this but just wanted to share that yesterday I was talking to one of the other mums who I know vaguely at playgroup to find out that she practices acupuncture and massage from home. I started telling her about wanting to set up practicing reiki from home once baby was born etc. and we left having arranged to swap treatments. I know this is a small step but I was so excited yesterday - as some of you know I have been concentrating on my career path and moving full time into offering reiki treatments and I just felt this was such a positive step and completely out of the blue. We were talking about how we could refer on clients if need be and meet for support etc...
I have a weird feeling that this could be the start of the centre offering a variety of treatments that I have been 'dreaming' of...but don't want to get too excited about that yet...
she is also looking to expand her business in the near future.

I for 1 am really keen on holistic stuff and am sure there are more and more people open to it- so well done you!

That's wonderful, sibble. It's great to find someone you can swap treatments with. I hope to have a similar experience to you soon! shame I'm not in NZ!

this thread could also be about vocation stepping stones and previsualistion of dreams and desires concerning work!!

because I was talking to a friend the other day - he is thinking he would like to work with animals - dogs and donkeys he particularly mentioned (I grew up around donkeys and dogs and a whole load of other animals). I felt very excited about that as I had just bought a Reiki book and had really been thinking about what direction I should go re working with Reiki and Alexander Technique which I am also very interested in. I had been thinking I am not sure if I would like to solely work with humans - and when he mentioned animals - I felt very interested.

Well done sibble. I feel more positive this week about work adn have really started to sell my company in a way I have felt nervous to before. It is hard to be in business when your natural instinct is to say yes to stuff and do things for others. I have to look at myself adn say I cahrge and not be embarressed about it. Anyway well done and little steps can lead to great things.

Thanks everyone for your messages, I know it is a small step but I am really so excited. I know what you mean as well about charging gf and finding the right amount to charge too so I was realy glad when she suggested a swap of treatments. I have had a few massages lately and it seems a fair deal to me. I have also found a reiki support group about 30 mins drive form here, unfortunately I can't make the monthly meeting this month as Dh is away but am going to phone and find out the going rate for treatments etc...Just planning and putting wheels into motion is therapeutic.
yep, works on animals too, there are some practitioners who only work on animals. I used to treat our cat, who loved it and like children they will squirm or move away when they have had enough.
Good luck everybody else with your positive career thinking.
