DS Made His First Holy Communion Yesterday

My Ex MiL and SiL (who I haven't seen in 6 years) were there. My future PiLs (different Christian denominations) were there. My parents, sister, brother and his DCs were there. And it was brilliant.

DS loved it. There were balloons, cake, a meal out and he got some books and a fair bit of £. But his best bit? Confession on Friday night. When he came out, he said he wanted to go back the next day! He said he felt so relaxed and light and that his heart was shining. He said that it was the first time that he understood god and that he felt like a real Christian.

I am thankful to DS, my family, his school, our priests and god this evening.

Everyone there was there because they love DS. And although it was more than a bit awkward at the start, it settled down. And we all left the day happier, healed and more relaxed than we started it.

And DS has had a blast.

Sounds great Dione and congratulations to DS on his First Holy Communion. My DS has also been asking to go to confession! They get that it's a place to unburden and find that peace.
