Will hopefully spend most of the day outside.

I've got no idea

I was planning to take DD out to the woods for the afternoon, but my car is dead.

Park?

Need to get some candles dressed for the evening, after the kids go to bed.

Why thank you cf

I intend to be in the garden as much as possible, then we will have a big family meal with what the kids call 'pigs & blood' for dinner.

Then, if it stays dry, I will spend some time down at my alter and probably light a fire.

I'm in the mood to read the tarot.

Sounds like a good way to spend the evening.

Excellent choice expat.

Don't forget to lay out an extra place at dinner.

We're going to gather some fallen leaves and stick them on some paper and press some.

Think I may use some round my candles.

It'd be cool to find a fallen conker on the ground.

Thanks for the reminder!

DH has some pumpkins to carve tomorrow. He's looking forward to that.

omg what does a fallen conker mean i'm truly . I was clearing some leaves in the garden today and came across a conker. It's the 1st one i've found and I gave it to dd. I've lived here for 3 years. I looked up at the tree and I can't find another at all.

I find white feathers in the strangest of places sometimes, That's supposed to be a sign from a loved one isn't it?

What does the conker mean, I have to know?

expatinscotland · 28/10/2006 19:55

It's just that she found a conker in a drawer that obviously made its way w/her during her move.

Maybe it's a little reminder of the season, of where she's been, where she is now, and perhaps where she is going.

Samhain is a time to honour the old and welcome the new, after all!

You said it'd be cool to find a fallen conker, what does that mean then, the same thing?

Report
expatinscotland · 28/10/2006 19:59

No, I just think it'd be a nice keepsake and reminder of the season, which is my favourite.

I find conkers cool in general.

oh right, me too. We put it in a little halloween tin .

Sorry, just a bit, not spooked exactly but a lot of things have happened lately, see my 'what a day' thread. I can't help thinking my late dh is trying to tell me something and i'm not convinced it's good either.

foulmoonfiend · 28/10/2006 20:03

the Half-moons have parties to go to, but when I have got them to bed, dh and i will light some candles under our Jack-in-the-green (my mantlepiece looks like a preschool Aumtumnal show-and-tell at the moment, with conkers, acrons, oak leaves, rowan berries, pretty leaves etc on!) and light our fire pit, drink a little toast to some absent friends and reflect on what new things we can get up to in the coming months!

Outside? Alter? Fire? Extra place at table??

So what's all this about?

del
just leave your mind open if you feel you want to hear what he has to say.

he will speak in his own time if he wants to.

it may not be bad at all!

sometimes you just get that feeling for some other reason - like, it may be that a change is afoot, and sometimes these can be accompanied by emotions of fear and anxiety, and this can manifest itself as a 'bad' or 'negative' sensation.

that's all normal w/changes often enough.

Thanks Expat. I'd say 99% of the time when I feel him around it's a good feeling, I kind of know it instinctively if that makes sense. These past couple of days i'm not so sure. Maybe it's because i've not been 100% well for quite a few weeks and i'm tired, who knows.

Report
expatinscotland · 28/10/2006 20:20

That can definitely be it, Del!

Hey, if you're not up to it just now, just tell him that.

I'm sure he probably already understands this.

Everything in its own time.

I got that feeling just today, in fact, when I took a shortcut through a churchyard.

I just thought, really hard, NOT NOW!
