Gosh, you obviously have to define what spirituality is, and that is a whole essay in itself!
I did some work on this this week, for my course (I am doing a BA in THeology and one of my courses is on 'The Maturing Child' and it emphasises spiritual growth. If you could get hold of a book called 'Spirit of the Child' by David Hay and Rebecca Nye (think its HarperCollins), its first chapter is all about what spirituality is (as distinct from religion). Or I could email you my notes on the chapter which might not be totally coherent, but would give you a brief outline of what they are saying. I though it was excellent, very interesting, I'd never really thought about it before.
Apart from that, know nothing about the therapeutic relationship I'm afraid.

I am writing an Old Testament essay at the moment! So your not alone on the essay front!

Hi harrisey,
Thanks for your reply, I had posted over in students for you but you've replied here
I know what you mean about needing an entire essay just for spirituality in and of itself, I suppose my angle is that a lot of therapy can be approached from a pathalogical stance, so in effect I am proposing that it is important to incorporate a clients spirituality and not necessarily from a religious standpoint.

I'm not sure if you ate familiar with Brian Thorne and Thomas Moore but both are very highly regared therapist and expert in Spirituality. Tbh I'm finding it more difficult to find theorists ho would argue against the need for adressing spirituality in a therapeautic setting.

I would really appreciate anything ie notes etc that you have to offer as this is an area I'm very much interested in. You can cat me or I'll cat you if you like, hope my post hasn't been to rambling
