Buttprints in the Sand

One night I had a wondrous dream,
One set of footprints there was seen,
The footprints of my precious Lady,
But mine were not along the shore.

But then some stranger prints appeared,
And I asked the Lady, "What have we here?"
Those prints are large and round and neat,
"But Lady, they are too big for feet."

"My child," She said in somber tones,
"For miles I carried you alone.
I challenged you to walk in faith,
But you refused and made me wait."

"You disobeyed, you would not grow,
The walk of faith, you would not know,
So I got tired, I got fed up,
And there I dropped you on your butt."

"Because in life, there comes a time,
When one must fight, and one must climb,
When one must rise and take a stand,
Or leave their butt prints in the sand."

Hi, I'm a christian and I'm not offended. It made me laugh! I'm grateful to say that despite my obstinacy and disobedience God has never dropped me on my butt.

hi again, it's not on my wall (I find the footprints in the sand thing a bit trite TBH) and I don't think many christians would be tat offended. The fabulous thing about christianity is that we deserve to be drop-kicked out of God's arms forever but for some extraordinary reason he seems to rather like us and keeps forgiving us however crap we are.
That's just my take anyway.

i was joking about the plaque thing btw. People tend to think that christians are devoid of a sense of humour for some reason

told my vicar about this when I saw her this morning..........and she wants a copy of it! She thought it sounded great - and I think it may be used as part of the sermon to illustrate 'something' on Sunday!

I'll probably send a copy to my vicar too... he'll appreciate it, he's got a big butt
