After years and years of traditional sedars (passover meals) my parents have thrown a curve ball....
"Could one of you from each couple lead a short discussion on their thoughts on freedom or slavery?"
DH and I both snorted, finding it both pompous and too much effort. But if we don't come up with something my parents will be you know blah blah blah. DH said we said that we should talk about being slaves to others' expectations, but I thinks that's a bit PA, even from me!
My thoughts (jaded maybe) were to discuss the slavery on our doorsteps: the trafficked people, those on wages at or below the NMW, the occasional stories you hear of indentured labour.
Or on a more positive note how those things make the press because we live in a society that has largely expunged this sort of servitude.
but how do you "lead a discussion?" My family are full of quite vocal, argumentative people who like to be right.
