Is today a special pagan day?

DH was out for a run early this morning in a local nature reserve to us and came across two people, a man and a woman in headdresses chanting and walking around in a circle near a stream. He said it was the chanting that alerted him to them being there as they were off the main path.

He runs fairly frequently there but this is the first time he has seen them and I wondered if today was some sort of special date for pagans.

Not a special day that I know of, perhaps they were conducting a private ceremony or spellcasting.
