PFB PET - what silly things did you do for your PFB pet pre-children?

When I lived by myself, I once cooked a roast Easter lunch just for me and my cat.

I laid the table and everything.

I took photos of my 3 cats on holiday with me and looked at them every morning and night (and sometimes during the day!)

Pre-children?

I still treat my cats like PFBs.

I once moved house and lost my cat for 24 hours and I swore to my flatmate that if the cat didn't turn up, I would emigrate and start a new life in America

I decided I wanted to feed the cat Hills Science plan (or whatever its called - can you tell I no longer care ). The cat hated it and would only eat it if I sat on the kitchen floor and rolled them at him one at a time. And I actually did it .

We took our hamster on holiday with us, and smuggled him into the house because it said "no pets allowed".

She said 'fanks'.

I rang the cattery to check they were OK when we first left them - they also had pictures of us in their pen

They were my babies, bought after a m/c of twins at 20 weeks.

Smudge is still withus 15 years later - he is a fantastic old man.

I also have Snowey in a oak casket with a plaque engraved with his details and will be laying themk to rest together

You can take the fingers out of your mouth now [boak emo]

lol, morningpaper, that reminds me of when one of my cats went missing, we went out trailing round the streets til well after midnight looking for him, then I spent the next few hours wailing and gnashing my teeth, when the furry little bastard sauntered in about 3.30am. I had to take the next day off work I was so emotionally wrung out. Emigrating didn't cross my mind funnily enough.

Ooh, not sure where to start really. Firstly, they are both on my profile and can be admired... Goober your girl is lovely. I can almost imagine her voice, YES MP I really can. We used to have songs for our dogs that we would sing as if they were singing them to each other. For instance our boy dog would sing 'Angel's to our girl dog inserting her name in the appropriate place. Stay with me it gets worse. When we had a 3 week trip to USA I sent them to kennels with 2 typed A4 pages of instructions, including their 'next of kin'. This was the breeder I got them from and I had a tearful conversation with her before I typed up the sheet discussing our wishes if the plane should drop out of the sky and both DH & me die. Also discussing the possibility that if something happened to one of them and we couldnt be got hold of that we wanted them cremated and keep the ashes. The dog (please dooo look at his picture and say nice things) has since died and yes, his ashes are in a lovely box on the windowsill in the sun. I also fed them a raw meat and veg diet, so as the kennels couldnt do this I weighed out the meat, juiced the veg and froze 3 weeks worth of food for them. I didn't have enough cool bags to take it in, I can still picture the kennel maid's face as I started lugging this stuff out of the car to put in their freezer . I'm thinking that none of this is normal? We have only just really sorted out what will happen to the DC's if we both die, think the plans for the dogs were well in place early on

I made our youngest cat a birthday cake with a candle.

I used to put pieces of crystal in a plastic barrel on their collars to "protect' them. this was in my new age phase.

I bought a house with the quietest road possible as I was so scared they would get run over.

I love the cat Easter picnic Nevergoonapost. That's class.

everything i do for my hammies is done for love!!!

if i do a roast, then they get a little pot

they have little wooden beds in their cages, lots of toys that get rotated

when its their bday they get a special hammy chocolate

they get a hamster calender/stocking at christmas

have their own hairbrush

eat freshly cooked porridge and chopped veg

as well as finding rare white wlanuts

they are allowed free rein of sofa and in our bed (obv supervised)

morning paper - did the cat like her meal?

When I had my first cat (single and lived on my own with no TV) I used to read to him

He was gorgeous and very bonded to me. I still really miss him

Oh god, there are so many confessions I could make ... Like a proper crazy cat woman, I used to take our blind house-cat for a walk on a lead along the riverbank as he always seemed so sad that he couldn't go outside .

I once took a day off work sick as I wanted to stay and look after a sickly goldfish.
