Are you certain they are fleas?
How long have you lived there? Could they be in the carpets?

Washing at 40 will kill the fleas, you need to spray the carpets with Indorexx and Acclaim.
However, brand new carpets and no pets does not fit with fleas. Where are you being bitten and have you actually seen a flea?

Ok. Is there any chance there are rats in your attic? They carry fleas into the home. We got them and had no pets and new carpets. We heard noise in attic. A rat family had moved in.

We powdered and hoovered with a flea collar in the Hoover bag to kill em in there.
That worked.

Washing at over 65 kills fleas. You need to go to a veterinary practice and buy a household product for carpets as only vets are licensed to sell toxic products. Supermarket stuff doesn't work. Expect to play £15-20 but once treated they will be gone

Indorex spray from the vets is the best we've found even better than Rentokil and cheaper

Indorex pretty cheap here

www.vetuk.co.uk/flea-products-flea-treatments-household-flea-sprays-c-3_419/indorex-flea-spray-500ml-can-p-677

But if it's definitely fleas I can recommend flea bombs from this place

m.pestcontrolsupplies.co.uk/insecto-all-insect-destroyer-bomb-150ml-triple-pack

We got fleas with a new kitten - they seemed to be all in one room & 1 bomb did for the lot of them even though it was a very cluttered bedroom (I bought 3 just in case so I now have 2 spare and a can of Indorex Grin)
