help me on a decision please

I have been in turmoil for weeks about this.
I love cats but have been very foolish by taking on three of them and now I am finding it difficult practically and financially looking after them I also have a dog which doesn't help.
I know I have bought it on myself but I hope someone can help me get a clear head on this as its driving me mad.
One of my cats the first one I ever had has a bit of a streak in him which I feel is maybe to do with his environment he just isn't happy in a multi cat household and can suddenly bite and scratch but is also a character and can be loving I have had him 5 years he is my ds's and dh's favourite as he practically the least demanding and he was here first and they think it would be unfair to rehome him. My next cat is a bit timid it took her ages to settle with us but she is really sweet have had her 2 years and finally I have the most gorgeous adorable mainecoon he is a big softie I almost sold him once but had a meltdown and backed out.
My ds says out of the three that he wouldn't be so upset about my timid sweet girl.
Help me please I am once again supposed to be selling my mainecoon but want to back out again oh God I can't make a decision I am crying over it help please.

You are doing a responsible thing if things are not working. It sounds like the first cat you described is stressed so it would be the kindest thing to rehome him. Can you contact the breeder and ask for help finding him a new home? Or if he's not from a breeder then ask a no-kill animal shelter. Please don't sell him on gumtree or facebook, you'll never know what happens to him.

It would be worth trying a feliway diffuser to help with your cats' stress issues they are very good. failing that I would always say to rehome the last new pet that was introduced as often they are the trigger for the anxiety within the pets. I do not agree with people that for example get a new kitten then get rid of their old cat because they were then unhappy. Older pets are harder to rehome and will often live out their days in rehoming centres. Pets are not for upgrading. I'm a vet nurse I see this more often than I care to remember

Totally understand your pain. In previous years we have rented with our cats and upon needing to move have been faced with having to give up one or more. Personally I couldn't do it and I had to find another solution. What exactly is the problem? Do they not get along, or is it just money related?
