is my puss having false pregnancy???

we got a cat from this woman who recues them.shes a gorgeous pale goldeny/ginger colour (cat not the woman we got her from!!)the woman told us that she had been neutered.we took pheobe (puss) to the vets for a check up.apart from being riddled with fleas,she was fine.for the last few weeks though we have noticed her tum was getting bigger.she wont let us touch her tum so cant feel if there is anything there.she was laid on her side earlier,and her nipples are abit red (not swollen,just look a bit sore) and her tum has gone abit smaller.we are worried that if she has had kittens,then shes left them somewhere,or if she is or has had a phantom pregnancy.any ideas?
