My cat is very nervous, and because she suffers from feline calicivirus (which is exacerbated by stress) we tried it once, to try and reduce the stress of a visit to the vet. It didn't do anything for her at all.

No, we didn't find anything, and because it's only trips to the vet that are really likely to cause the problems, we didn't use anything in the end. The vet did tell us that there are various methods of sedation that he could use if we wanted to take her on longer journeys, but you say that you don't want to have her sedated.

Is it worth you having another word with your vet to see what else he could suggest?
