Stop 'selling' the Porn & Sex industry to kids in our Newspapers!

10% of pre-teen kids addicted to porn.
90% of mainstream porn now shows violence vs women.

So why are newspapers still carrying ads for the porn and sex industry?

And why does The Sport even still exist (packed full of Page 3 pics and graphic ads for the porn/sex industry, alongside titilating stories about rapists, paedophiles and incest)? Why is it still sold on the bottom shelf, like a newspaper, where any child can access it?

Women's Groups (actually Mumsnet dealt the final blow!) were behind getting lad's mags off the bottom shelf, and eventually out of business. So we can do it again - especially if Mumsnet gets behind the campaign!

Had a look in The Sport when I heard about www.notbuyingit.org.uk who started this petition and it is almost entirely pornographic images of women with a disgusting degradation of grandmothers as it is full of 'granny porn.' and sex ads, promoting prostitution. In the UK, this is sold as a 'newspaper'. Er, I don't think so! This owner of this publication got very rich as a pornographer. The representation of women is entirely as sex 'meat' - it as that bad. I used to write about harm of lad mags and I remember The Sport had a dwarf photographer who took upskirt shots of women. That's called stalking, and hello! it's illegal. I'm following @not_buyingit as they'll be challenging everything sexist by the looks of it. Let's help take this porn down to chinatown!

Yes Not Buying It is a new organisation, funded by Joseph Rowntree Reform Trust, challenging sexual objectification of women. The Sport seems a good place to start! Check out the petition here: www.notbuyingit.org.uk/Sport

And please sign it!

Would Mumsnet consider joining the campaign to get the Daily Sport off the bottom shelves? I can't believe it's legitimately sold as a newspaper, it's essentially a porn mag.

Come on Mumsnet we can do this. Our children deserve better than this.

I'm in.

Thank you everyone for telling Mumsnet what you think .. please ask your friends to post here too and in the meantime sign the petition: www.notbuyingit.org.uk/Sport

We're starting to meet MPs and the Police so the campaign is really starting to take off! x
