apologies if this is in the wrong section but i don't know where else to put it (plus i want the traffic)

here

The staff here are going to all lose their jobs, they looked after my father when he died and they looked after us too. There is not another hospice for 30 miles in our area and this will affect many people at their most vulnerable. My father was given dignity and care - i would hate to think that others may not be able to access this in their time of need.

We must live in a similar area LEM. My father also died there, lung cancer, and the staff were phenomenal. Signed and shared. I feel rather tearful about this tbh. x

I live close too, my best friends mother spent time there, I agree the staff are amazing.

Signed. Haven't lived there for twenty years but they were fabulous with a friends father. Didn't Mo Mowlam spend the last few days of her life there too?

Thank you for organizing.

Signed also. My grandmother was given the most fabulous care from the outreach nursing service at the hospice when she was dying. The care and compassion she was given, which allowed her to die peacefully in her own home, surrounded by her family, was something we will always be grateful for.
This country has gone mad, these decisions are not just about numbers and making them add up. People high up in government make these decisions and they have no clue. Any fool with half a brain would know these places are like gold dust....:and they are golden, they give people hope and dignity at some of the most difficult times of their lives. They should be prioritised, not shut as though they are not important.

Mumster im not organising just knew that mnet could be relied upon to provide more voices. As to why? I dont know it relies on charitable donations and something about consolidation of resources. There are two more pilgrims hospices in the arra but margate and ashford. Quite a trek for relatives of folk who dont live near. So so sad. What struck me was the positive atmosphere there. I thought it would be depressin but it wasnt it was lovely and peaceful.
