Please Lego, promote somewhere more suitable than the Sun newspaper

My campaign to stop Lego targeting my 2 boys in the Sun newspaper has been going for nearly 11 days now and has attracted 11.625 signatures.

I presumed I was just a lone voice who thought toys and tits did not mix. For example last Tuesday (26/02/13) there were 14 pictures of semi naked women in the Sun, oh and a promotion for a free toy, and placed directly opposite some of these pictures. Is that right?

My basic point is that Lego targeted my children via promotions like this:

My children have come to associate the Sun with free toys. At least 11,625 associate it with something entirely different.

The Lego response so far has been basically this:

As it has been on the last 4 promotions.

Last Thursday (28/02/12) I wrote to many Senior Executives at Lego HQ Denmark once the campaign had reached 10,000 signatures. They have not acknowledged my email let alone responded to it. I did however get a 'out of office' message from the Senior Vice President for Lego Europe (thanks!).

I really love (loved) Lego BUT I really do expect better from a children's brand.

How about promoting via MUMSNET Lego?

Thanks for reading
Steve

Thanks Rockchick1984. My issue was that my kids wanted, pestered me, to buy it.

Lego repeatedly stated that they had 'no further promotions planned' but then after 10,000+ signatures they changed their stance to 'Final promotion'. Let hope people power influenced their decision and they think twice in future before doing promotions with inappropriate media outlets.

Quite honestly I'm shocked that Lego are happy to promote via the Sun anyway with the revelations that have come out with the Hillsborough enquiry! I can't sign your petition as I wouldn't ever buy the sun with or without topless photos so it would be hypocritical of me to agree that Lego should continue to promote themselves in there under any circumstances but I wish you luck with it.
