I thought someone over here would be able to tell me.

What is the past tense of "to wee"?

"He weed" just looks wrong but I'm sure "he wee'd" is very very wrong!

"Weeed"? I hear that in a high-pitched voice.

Had a wee?

I can't think of any other verb which ends in "ee" to compare it with...

I'd happily say weed.

I'd say weed.

I'd be tempted to kill anyone who used wee'd (but would hopefully restrain myself )

Have not visited pedants' corner for many a long moon, and look...the first thread makes me laugh out loud, especially fruitful's contribution.

As usual, I'm sure there's a typo in here somewhere, so I'll apologise in advance.

so according to my very ancient OED, 'wee' is a variant of 'wee-wee'. No irregular inflections are listed, which I think means we just follow the regular inflection rules as specified the introduction, which I think makes the past tense weed. (It only lists a rule for -e words, nothing for -ee words.)

I see - I have seen, I saw
I wee - I have ween, I waw
I pee - I have peen, I paw

Seriously - Collins Dictionery gives PEED and WEED.

Of course it's not 'wee'd'! There's no extra 'e' missing - think of glance/glanced, prance/pranced.
