Pedants' corner

banging my head on a brick wall............

Am not a fully paid up member of pedants' corner, but my local hair salon has a fire notice which used to read
"Encase of fire........." - told them that it should be in case, two separate words. It now reads
"En case of fire......"

I also saw some current buns for sale on the market, presumably that means they were not out of date yet?!

I wish I was joking!

Also, it would be; "banging my head against a wall."

encase or en case is suitably continental sounding for a hair salon though !

LOL at en case!

There's a salon near me called 'Pastiche' which always makes me laugh.

Do they imitate - perhaps with satirical intent - the work of other salons? Or do they produce an incongruous mix of different styles on the heads of their customers?

The mind boggles.
