is there an apostrophe (LED's) or not (LEDs)?

An apostrophe is used to show that a letter is missing - therefore 'it's' represents 'it is'.

So in this case it would simply be LEDs.

I have often used an apostrophe in this way. Perhaps I won't now.

I see that The New York Times used to do it but doesn't anymore.
