It really should be "summat"

ItsOkayItsJustMyBreath Tue 02-Jul-13 22:29:07

I feel safe here, it's good to be surrounded by like-minded minds grin

PseudoBadger Tue 02-Jul-13 21:16:42

Oh yes! Arxsk grin

Sonnet Tue 02-Jul-13 21:12:52

Missing 't''s do it for me...

Dejected Tue 02-Jul-13 21:07:43

arks instead of ask gives me hulk style anger.

TallulahBetty Tue 02-Jul-13 20:59:59

Not Russian haha, Brummie perhaps?!

MollyBerry Tue 02-Jul-13 20:02:59

I honestly can't pronounce specifically... (I do know I'm saying it wrong though)

EleanorFarjeon Tue 02-Jul-13 20:00:31

Mornink!

Is she Russian?

TallulahBetty Tue 02-Jul-13 19:57:04

I work with a woman who says "mornink". Unsure if she's being serious or not hmm

EleanorFarjeon Tue 02-Jul-13 19:56:57

My ds used to say 'lello' for yellow.

Eyesunderarock Tue 02-Jul-13 19:55:47

lelo is quite a common colour in reception as well.
Sounds very sweet, and at 4 is acceptable to me. smile

Back2Two Tue 02-Jul-13 19:54:57

Ha ha to pacifically

I do hate that.

Back2Two Tue 02-Jul-13 19:54:25

I agree

(But my four year old says "somesink" and we find it hard to correct because it sounds lovely)

<<<<< bad mother>>>>>

PseudoBadger Tue 02-Jul-13 19:54:22

Is there anything pacifically wrong with it though grin

GibberTheMonkey Tue 02-Jul-13 19:52:48

Sumpfink wrong with my pronunciation?
Discusting

Eyesunderarock Tue 02-Jul-13 19:52:35

Sumfink.
Sends a shudder down the spine.

uvr

So many verbal manglings that turn up in spellings.

WannaSplitAPineapple Tue 02-Jul-13 19:51:19

This drives me insane. I am amazed by how many people write/say this grrrrrrrr

JRY44 Tue 02-Jul-13 19:49:31

My boss says it. Drives me mad.

PseudoBadger Tue 02-Jul-13 19:48:50

No no no. It's sumfink.

EleanorFarjeon Tue 02-Jul-13 19:45:19

Grrrr. This drives me nuts. I have a young (intelligent) colleague that says 'somethink'.

I always get him to spell it aloud, he can spell it but not say it.

ItsOkayItsJustMyBreath Tue 02-Jul-13 19:42:57

Thank you for joining me SanityClause.

SanityClause Tue 02-Jul-13 19:35:28

There's no "p" in the middle of it, either.

ItsOkayItsJustMyBreath Tue 02-Jul-13 19:33:27

I am posting here to vent as I have noticed this trend spreading the country and media. Even Alistair on Escape To The Country and presenters on R4 are pronouncing it this way.

Why????? angry
