it was Debenham's originally.lots of shops lost their apostrophes when they a) became well-known (ie a brand rather than a shop) and b) when the internet stole them all.
Did wonder Brycie, but if there is no apostrophe that must be a branding style choice. Wasn't the store started by a Mr Debenham?
