Been done before I know, but what do you buy the one year old who has EVERYTHING?

I know this has been asked before, but we are going to a birthday party for a 1 year old girl in a couple of weeks.

I am really struggling to think what to get her as she has more toys than any child I have ever seen, and she already has all the usual suggestions, such as stacking cups. I did think that I could buy something for when she is a bit older, say 18 months, but then it will be Christmas.

HELP!!

Like the idea of a tree or plant that can be her own. Not sure what you'd get for your budget but it's certainly different, and a lovely thing that she can enjoy as she grows with it.

a book, I always love dd and ds being given books more than anything and always give books as gifts.

Dinny - any suggestions as to good books? I expect she already has the obvious ones such as the Very Hungry Caterpillar - are there any other good but not so famous titles?

we bought 'The Children's Collection of Poems' by Ted Hughes. I bought one as a christening gift but then bought one for DD as well, it was so lovely and the illustrations are gorgeous. It ranges with poetry from babyhood right up to teenage.

I just have always loved anything by Shirley Hughes and started reading her books to both mine from v young age and they still love them today (they are 5 and 2). Epecially Dogger.

Or some colouring stuff - 1yos colour right? crayons and a simple book. I like stuff that gets used up and thrown away.
