Birthday ideas for 8 year old girl

My dd will be turning 8 in November, we have always had parties. The first one being for the whole class, then half the class and the last one was about 10 friends. I've told dd that we won't be doing anymore parties but I'd like to do something, her birthday is on a Saturday this year and was thinking maybe we could invite a couple of good friends to our house or cinema/pizza. I'd quite like to keep costs as low as possible this time, maybe £60 tops. Any ideas for something special at home for a few friends. Or anything I haven't considered with the cinema then pizza scenario with a maximum 5 girls including my two?
Thanks

Build A Bear, although would probably take you over £60. I think you can get kits (not from BAB) where you can do a similar thing at home.

Remember DD enjoying a party where mum had got plain white t shirts from Primark, and they each decorated their own t shirt with fabric paints. Also made bracelets and necklaces.

Pizza Express do parties too, which my DD enjoyed.

Love the t-shirt idea and will look into the diy build a bear. That sounds fab. Maybe we can make pizzas and while they're cooking do our t shirts. Bears after we've eaten then do some nail painting, bracelets and temporary tattoos. Think I can do all this in my budget depending how much the bears cost

Unfortunately, I can't remember the name of the company that supplies the bear packs. It must be googleable though!

We used be my bear - the 8" ones were great and they enjoyed taking home that instead of a party bag. You could pitch it as sewing bee meets junior masterchef. I would probably just do either bears ot T-shirt (cheaper). Then do the other one next year. When we did the bears we did a [http://www.mykidsadventures.com/string-treasure-hunt/ wool maze] to find their bears which they loved (although best with only 2-3 teams) and don't eat tommy's smartie.

Horse riding party? We did this one year at Valley Farm in Suffolk. Still remembered as one of the best parties ever.
