Dp or soon to be done, are getting married next week. The wedding is small but we're having a big party after our honeymoon.

I decided to decorate the room myself and began planning this months ago. I kept it simple with vintage bunting, small glass vases with flowers in. I bought a ton of tealight holders and fairy lights.

Well now I've gone all creative. I've started adding ribbon and gems to the vases. Bought pink and blue pots, plaster of Paris and been collecting twigs today to make mini trees. I'm painting the branches and putting fairy lights on them.

I think I'll ask friends to help or maybe rope in dss?

I quite fancy starting a blog about it.

Has anyone else done similar?

I think about a zillion people have done bunting tea lights twigs mason jars, see pinterest.
It's lovely that you have enjoyed doing it and it hasn't become a chore. You could give them to your guests as favours

The gems are from charity shop jewellery I took apart and the ribbon was given to me by a seamstress friend.

Another friend came twig hunting with me today thank goodness. We collected a fair few.

Will you have time to do all that? If the wedding is next week?

I'm off work now for 3 weeks. I have all weekend. Everything is in order for the wedding. Plus I'll get people to help.

Sounds great - just don't stress yourself out! As previously mentioned, Pinterest is definitely your friend!

Heels I've looked on pinterest. It's good for ideas. I had thought of telling people to take stuff home. The venue may want the bunting?

I'm very laid back and will go back to simple if it gets too much. I'm even doing a friend's hair the morning of my wedding. I'm trained though, did hair for eons. It'll take me 5 minutes to put a roll in but she'd struggle. Mine's going in rags the night before Smile

I doubt I can be bothered taking the bunting down. It was only £25. It'll really suit the room it's going in. But of course the owner may hate bunting for all I know?
