Help. Parents asking what presents to bring for 3 yr olds party

What is the polite way to respond. He doesn't need anything but I know when I go to a kids party I like choosing something for them. Don't want to ask for something specific and don't want anyone to feel they need to bring anything.

art and craft bits. pens and pencils. Playdoh etc.

basically anything that can be put away and used up over a few months.

I tend to ask for things he doesn't have, often more traditionally 'girls' toys - crafting, books, cooking etc. - because anothe five small lego kits is just irritating.

Paint, large pads of paper, playdoh, books.
Things that get used up or can be regifted if not a hit.

When younger we always went with arts and crafts / colouring books as they get used up easily especially on school projects.

I do appreciate people asking me; I am sure there are certain things your son likes more than others. My dd got a medical set and a cookery set which she ignored as she prefers dolls, animals and girly stuff

I go for books. Easy to regift if duplicated or unwanted
