Hiring a hall, with bouncy castle but:

  1. want to do a mini treasure hunt sort of thing but have no idea how to go about it - any tips/suggestions?

  1. do i need a professional entertainer ? what are parents doing these days??!?

  1. Thinking of getting food boxes and giving each child their own "picnic" - would this be ok?

  1. Just going to play pass the parcel - is that enough in the way of games?

Thankx

Partypieces do all sorts of stuff and lots of ideas for themes etc.

  1. mini treasure hunt - hide gold chocolate coins and cheap plastic necklaces around the place, each child has a treasure chest (silver foil take- away cartons) and has to fill the box with as many things as they can in say 5 mins.
  2. They are expensive (at DD's party which was a joint party between her and a boy from nursery we had one that was £110 for 3 hours) Worth it as he did magic, games and gave prizes etc.

4 Food boxes fantastic idea
5 Pass the parcel, musical chairs, musical statues - plenty.

If you have a bouncy castle you don't need an entertainer IME for 4 yr olds.
they will spend lots of time just charging about anyway
and if you are doing some organised games that would be plenty
could get someone to do them a mini-disco using a CD player
save the £££ for a few years' time

I did a craft table too - party hats which they could decorate themselves and colouring in pages. (helps break the ice if any shy ones are there.)

I cut out some card and drew a picture (in my case it was a halloween party so I did spiders) and stuck them all round the hall with blutak. each child had to run and find them then bring back a picture for a prize. There was the same amount of pictures as children so they all got something.
