party venue - what to do?

I have a little dilemma - I was going to throw a class party for dd who is turning 5 in July but have recently found out that her best friend and 4 other key friends will be away. So now don't really want to include the whole class if they aren't really the people she plays with iyswim. But, I have booked and paid for a venue with an indoor and outdoor part to it in case it rains. The venue is big so if I invited around 15 guests they would rattle, and it is expensive. It looks like I can get my money back and the entertainer will do the entertaining in our local park and the council have ok'd it. But, what if it rains?? Entertainer says would carry on regardless but who wants to be shivering in the rain . . . ? Do I stick with the original plan or risk it in the park? (I know there are more important things to worry about in life!)
