My neice is lovely and I want to get her something really nice...she DOES have lots of toys however so I am probably asking the impossible for you guys to come up with something she hasn't got but HELP! I am so clueless with girls it's not true.

She is a very girly girl, not sporty or adventurous at all, I would say quite timid really. so nothing that involves too much physicality (though she does love dancing). I've seen her do lots of drawing so I think she's pretty crafty. Any wonderful ideas?????

tia.

My niece is also six and girly - she absolutely loves anything pink and sparkly from Claire's Accessories! You could buy a bag and fill it with things. Also books about princesses, ballet etc - many of them come with necklaces, sparkly things too!

thanks footprint . I think I might get a basket and sort of make a 'hamper' of girly things for her to unwrap...can't think of one 'big' thing so this might do the trick...Claire's Accessories eh...might have to brave it soon....I LIKE having a boy and not having to set foot in there normally but I expect I'll get used to it

If she's crafty, you get nice, compartmentalised (sp?!) boxes filled with a whole range of card-making stuff - stampers, ink pads, cards, stickers, etc. dd2 got this for Christmas when she'd just turned 7 and she's made good use of it. You can then carry on adding to it yourself.

Think the make is Whispers but Argos have something very similar. It's pricey (just under £50) but don't know what your budget is for 'really nice'!

The craft box that was mentioned are brilliant.
We got some from argos £10 each.
My 3 children have one each and craft items make great stocking fillers as well.

I have a 5 year old daughter and she loved the personalised stationary that i got from ebay.
As she's still learning to write she had great fun sending letters to the family.

Be brave, go to claires, but avoid aturdays as its mad in there.

Most little girls love dressing up clothes.
